For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
There is a division between the soul and spirit similar to the difference between bone and marrow. The following video attempts to explain the difference.
A living soul is a flesh body with the breath of life in it, the Spirit is the type or kind of cognitive mind (thinking) in the living Soul.
