Hi KW,
We do not know what we will be like when he returns but we will be like him.1JnBut you do know?
You say Jesus will be in a torn old body.
Will we have holes in our bodies too?August 29, 2014 at 1:33 pm#740815kerwinParticipantNick,
It is written”
Romans 8:20-21New English Translation (NET Bible)
20 For the creation was subjected to futility—not willingly but because of God who subjected it—in hope 21 that the creation itself will also be set free from the bondage of decay into the glorious freedom of God’s children.
But you tell me that not not all of creation will be liberated for flesh and bone are part of creation.

Do you not believe in the new creation?
Is the new creation still the same old flesh one/August 29, 2014 at 1:42 pm#740818kerwinParticipantNick,

Why do you choose a definition of know that says that you know more than those John and those he spoke to knew. Why did you not choose “to perceive directly : have direct cognition of” as NET does?
1 John 3:2New English Translation (NET Bible)
2 Dear friends, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet been revealed. We know that whenever it is revealed we will be like him, because we will see him just as he is.

Hi KW,
Do you not believe in the new creation?
Is the new creation still the same old flesh one/What does Romans 8:20-21 say?
I believe the new creation is the old creation liberated from bondage to decay just as Romans 8:20-21 teaches.

Jesus told us his resurrected body was flesh and bones.
Flesh cannot inherit the kingdom so how could he be in the kingdom at that time?August 29, 2014 at 1:49 pm#740822NickHassanParticipantHi KW,
This is the one for Jesus and us

If the new creation is just a rehash of the old is it a brand new flesh body we are given, still reliant on food and water etc?Is it an adult one?
How do you know?
August 29, 2014 at 5:50 pm#741011kerwinParticipantNick,
Hi KW,
Jesus told us his resurrected body was flesh and bones.
Flesh cannot inherit the kingdom so how could he be in the kingdom at that time?Scripture states flesh and blood cannot enter the kingdom of heave. Flesh and blood is an idiom for mortal and perhaps other things. It leads to misunderstanding to interpret idioms literally. You have made that error which is why I quoted a version of Scripture that translated the idiom instead of leaving it to the reader to do so.
How did Adam and Eve live in the kingdom of God when their bodies were clearly flesh and bone?

Scripture treat the change as significant and I know the change because Romans 8:20-21 tells describes it. I know only about and whatever else Scripture reveals. Beyond that I know nothing.

Who decides what is IDIOM?
August 29, 2014 at 6:58 pm#741014NickHassanParticipantHi KW,
Adam and Eve lived in the Kingdom?
August 29, 2014 at 6:59 pm#741015NickHassanParticipantHi KW,
Is it not TAKING FROM scripture to call it IDIOM?
By whose authority?
August 29, 2014 at 7:35 pm#741049NickHassanParticipantHi KW,
How of the other words of sacred scripture have you consigned to be just idioms?
August 29, 2014 at 7:45 pm#741050kerwinParticipantNick,
Adam and Eve lived in the Kingdom?
They lived in a time before the earth was separated from the kingdom by its rebellion.
August 29, 2014 at 7:57 pm#741067kerwinParticipantNick,

Some idioms most translators choose to translate. Idiom is part of a language and like other parts of the language they are in Scripture.
Translators are not consistent in translating them.
August 29, 2014 at 7:59 pm#741069kerwinParticipantNick,
Who decides what is IDIOM?
Often the translators and we put our trust in them because of our lack of knowledge.
The Spirit if you listen to it.

God’s Word is not to be tampered with to suit man’s dogmas
August 29, 2014 at 9:03 pm#741101NickHassanParticipantHi KW,
So where is this kingdom spoken of in genesis?
Or did you ADD it?
