Hi Gene,
Carmel…….yes the rock was The christos, but that wasen’t the man Jesus, he had not even been anointed with the Holy Spirit yet,
because he didn’t exist yet.
How about reading this prophecy Gene, hereunder:
Isaiah 48:16 Come ye near unto me, and hear this:
I have not spoken in secret from the beginning: (John1:1-3 )
from the time before it was done, (proverbs 8:22-25)
I was there, (Proverbs 8:27)
and now the Lord God hath sent “ME”, and
“HIS SPIRIT”.
IT IS QUITE CLEAR TO ME Gene,
THAT JESUS TOGETHER WITH THE HOLY GHOST, BOTH AS SPIRITS, PRE-EXISTED and WERE SENT BEFORE THE WORLD WAS BY THE FATHER!
CONFIRMED BY JESUS HIMSELF IN
John 4:36 And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life everlasting:
TELL ME Gene, WHO IS THE ONE THAT REAPS?
THE HOLY GHOST NO? Luke 3:9.
that both he that soweth, and he that reapeth,
NOW, WHO IS THE ONE THAT SOWS?
JESUS, THE SON OF MAN NO? MATTHEW 13:37.
may rejoice together.
NOW TO THE ABOVE Gene!
WHEN AND HOW DID THEY REJOICE TOGETHER MR. Gene?
ON JESUS DEATH ON THE CROSS NO?
WHEN BOTH THE SON OF MAN AND THE HOLY GHOST
GLORIFIED, INTEGRATED AND BECAME
ONE SUBSTANCE
TWO SPIRITS IN ONE FLESH
BOTH SPIRIT AND FLESH IN
JESUS CHRIST, John13:31-32, John17:1 John20:17
GODMAN
John 20:22 When he had said this, he BREATHED (GENESIS 2:7) on them; and he said to them:
Receive ye the Holy Ghost.
IN THE ABOVE JESUS CHRIST FURNISHED THE HOLY GHOST, AS GOD DID TO ADAM, AND CONFIRMS THAT HE IS IN THE GLORY OF GOD THE FATHER, ASSERTED IN
John20:17 Jesus saith to her: Do not touch me, for I am not yet ascended to my Father. But go to my brethren, and say to them:
I ascend to (THE GLORY OF) my Father and to your Father, to my God and your God.
And EMPHATICALLY ALSO IN
John 20:28 Thomas answered, and said to him:
My Lord, and my God.
John4:37For in this is the saying true: That it is one man that soweth, and it is another that reapeth. 38I have sent you to reap that in which you did not labour:
others have laboured,
and you have entered into THEIR labours.
GOD THE FATHER
JESUS, “THE WORD” MADE FLESH, THE SON OF MAN, JESUS’ HUMAN NATURE and
THE HOLY GHOST JESUS DIVINE NATURE THE SON OF GOD!
1 John 5:7 And there are three who give testimony in heaven,
the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost.
And these three are one.
IN JESUS CHRIST
GODMAN!
1John5:20 And we know that the Son of God is come: and he hath given us understanding that we may know the true God,
and may be in his true Son.
This is the true God and life eternal.
The Spirit was on Moses Joshua, Calab, and the Seventy Elders That God put it on, as acripture clearly says. Trying to force the text to say that Jesus was there, is another of you false teaching, there is no scripture that say the Jesus Christ was there at that time in history.
What Jodi said is apsolute right, and you are apsolute wrong as usual
Gene, YOU ARE PERFECTLY RIGHT THIS TIME THOUGH YOU ARE NOT AWARE OF IT!
JESUS, AS A SPIRIT WAS IN MOSES ALRIGHT AND ALSO IN THE ENTIRE PROCESS OF CREATION SINCE ALL IN HIM AND
All things were made by him: and without him was made nothing that was made.
NOW READ Colossians 1:16 For in him were all things created in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones, or dominations, or principalities, or powers:
all things were created by him and in him.
17And he is before all, and by him all things consist.
18And he is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead;
that in all things he may hold the primacy:
Now Gene show us your wisdom and specifically explain what the above verse
“that in all things he may hold the PRIMACY:”
ACTUALLY IS REFERRING TO!
Peace and love in Jesus Christ

You:
Me
Always this “YES”…”BUT”….
Read:
“For they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them, and that Rock was Christ: Israel even had the presence of Jesus Christ with them in the wilderness! Here, in identifying the Rock that followed them, Paul builds on a rabbinical tradition that said Israel was supplied with water by the same rock all through the wilderness, a rock that followed them. Some Bible scholars today debate as to if the rock followed Israel, or if the water followed Israel (as in a stream).
The point is the same: Jesus Christ was present with Israel in the wilderness, providing for their needs miraculously. What blessing, what privilege! ”
Me: JUST READ WHAT JESUS SAID BEFORE HE LEFT THIS WORLD:
Matthew 28:19 Going, therefore, teach ye all nations;
baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.20Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever
I have commanded you:
and behold I am with you all days,
even to the consummation of the world.WHILE THE FATHER IS IN HIS LONGEST SLEEP???

Just for verification… you think the Jews accused Jesus of claiming to be their own God, Yahweh, whom no man had ever seen (John 1:18)?
I think the Jews accused Jesus of claiming to be the Yahweh that had been seen by Abraham and Jacob, for instance.
September 13, 2022 at 2:18 am#937408GeneBalthropParticipantLU……..So you and Berean, and Carmel, simply refuse to “actually” believe, what Jesus said about himself, right……Jesus said, (not me) ….. “why call “me” good, there is “none” good, but “ONE” , that is GOD.”
Just another example of you people not “actualy” believing Jesus. “sad”.

From the NET Bible regarding the above verse:
The terms “God and Savior” both refer to the same person, Jesus Christ. This is one of the clearest statements in the NT concerning the deity of Christ.

The Son was in the “form” of God before the incarnation, btw.
September 13, 2022 at 5:56 am#937413LightenupParticipantMike,
Regarding this:
LU: He had His Father’s name of Yahveh in the OT so it would not be a new name for the Son.
He did?
Jeremiah 23:6… In his days Judah will be saved and Israel will live in safety. This is the name by which he will be called: Yahweh Our Righteousness.
The name YHVH is changed to YHVH Our Righteousness. The Son is YHVH as well as His Father in the OT. One is seen by man and the other was unseen by man. YHVH Our Righteousness is a name given after the cross, hence the future tense of “will be called.”
Regarding the names written on the saints’ foreheads in Revelation, the context speaks of three names but does not clarify those names for us. Therefore, I believe that you are merely guessing at what the name/names are.

Jesus is, to those who believe in Him, our God and Savior. I know that you cannot see this. Many can.
September 15, 2022 at 2:16 am#937475JodiParticipantGood Morning Mike,
Thanks for your question, “When do you think Jesus ceased being God’s only begotten son and became one of many begotten sons of God?”
God gave his only begotten Son unto death on the cross whereby the sins of the world were forgiven. When Jesus died the only begotten Son was thus dead. When Jesus rose receiving the promised Spirit he became a firstborn of what will become many. So technically right now he currently is an only begotten, but the promise is that we will be made as he is, we are promised to be born of the Spirit where we too will be caused by that Spirit dwelling in us to walk in all of God’s ways.

Hi Jodi. If Jesus is technically an only begotten right now with many brethren to join him in being begotten by God (John 1:12-13), then it could be that his being raised from the dead to life in heaven is the “begetting”, right?
Also, since Jesus is the only human who was born as a combo of human woman and God Himself (Holy Spirit), then just being born on earth would also make sense as the time when Jesus became God’s true and actual “only begotten son”.
As you know, I believe Jesus existed in heaven before being born of God and Mary on earth. But scripture says in at least three places that Jesus was a creation of God at that point (“firstborn of every creature”, “Yahweh created me as the first of His works”, “the beginning of the creation of God”), not begotten of God. We also must consider what Psalm 2:7 is referring to – which sounds to me like when God exalted Jesus in heaven and made him Lord of heaven and earth (“I have installed my king on Zion – this day I have begotten you”).
So I agree that Jesus became God’s “only begotten” somewhere between being born of God and Mary and being raised from the dead and exalted/enthroned in heaven. I don’t think that receiving the Spirit at his baptism qualifies as one of the choices though. After all, being born OF the Holy Spirit would carry a lot more weight than being endowed WITH the Holy Spirit.
As a side note, I think it’s more accurate to say that those who are victorious will be LED by the Holy Spirit to walk in God’s ways, not CAUSED by the Holy Spirit to do that. I don’t think that even those who have been raised to eternal life will be robots without a free will to either obey God or not.
September 15, 2022 at 10:48 am#937481mikeboll64BlockedLU: I think the Jews accused Jesus of claiming to be the Yahweh that had been seen by Abraham and Jacob, for instance.
Jesus couldn’t possibly be God then, since no man has ever seen God (John 1:18 – written long after John and thousands of men on earth had seen Jesus). John’s claim also includes Abraham and Jacob – and is supported by Yahweh Himself…
Exodus 33… 19“I will cause all My goodness to pass before you,” Yahweh replied, “and I will proclaim My name—Yahweh—in your presence…” 20But He added, “You cannot see My face, for no man can see Me and live.”
No man has ever seen Yahweh, Kathi. Men have, however, seen spirit messengers of Yahweh in the Bible, and often address these messengers of Yahweh as “Yahweh”.
Do you have any NT scriptural support that the Jews of Jesus’ time on earth were aware of a “Yahweh Unity”, and knew that one of the Yahwehs could be seen by men, while the other could not? Thanks.
All that being said, let’s run with your understanding that the Jews accused Jesus of claiming to be the Yahweh who could be seen by men.
Did Jesus affirm their accusation or deny it? Thanks.

No I don’t call Jesus that. We’ve already discussed this recently. I’m willing to discuss it again if you want to, but only AFTER you acknowledge that my answer was accurate, and scripturally backed.
In case you forgot, you (seemingly) chided me for calling Jesus God’s holy servant. I showed you that I call Jesus exactly what the Bible calls Jesus. I would like you to acknowledge that I AM calling Jesus exactly what the Bible calls him before asking why I DON’T call him this thing you think Peter called him.
In other words, I’d love to see, “Fair enough, Mike. You are indeed calling Jesus things that he is called in scripture, so I have no valid complaint or reason to question you about it. That being said, do you also call Jesus…?”
To which my first question will be to ask why you DON’T ever call Jesus a servant, priest, anointed one, messenger, and prophet of God like I do. And once you’ve answered that, we can discuss 2 Peter 1:1, Phil 2:6, or any other scriptures you think teach that Jesus is the Most High God.

The Greek “morphe” simply means outward appearance. But the point is that “theos” is lacking the definite article there, and should clearly be translated as “a god” in the beginning of that verse, just like it is correctly translated in John 1:1.
After all, look at the scripture as you yourself quoted it above. What sense does it make to say Jesus was existing in the form of the Most High God (NetNotes: This means he WAS God!), but he didn’t consider EQUALITY with the Most High God something to be grasped?
What? The Greek words mean Jesus WAS God – yet he didn’t regard equality with the very God he WAS something attainable? That’s nonsense.
It’s even worse in light of your doctrine, Kathi, since “God” is a combo of Jesus and the Father. How could Jesus be existing in the form of “Jesus and the Father”? How could he, one person, even consider such a thing as equality with “Jesus and the Father”?

Revelation 1:7-8

“Look, he is coming with the clouds,”
and “every eye will see him,
even those who pierced him”;
and all peoples on earth “will mourn because of him.”
So shall it be! Amen.“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.”
Clearly, we can read about God and Jesus. It switches around. You need to keep up.
In Revelation 22;13 it is talking about God sending his angel and the focus is on the angel who has the message of God. “I am the Alpha…” is the message that the angel is passing on from God.
September 17, 2022 at 4:40 am#937512JodiParticipantGood Morning Mike,
Thanks for your reply, there is a lot to cover so I will break it down.
YOU: If Jesus is technically an only begotten right now with many brethren to join him in being begotten by God (John 1:12-13), then it could be that his being raised from the dead to life in heaven is the “begetting”, right?
ME: I don’t see it that way actually, Jesus coming to life again is not his begetting, him upon coming to life receiving the Spirit for all eternity is his begetting.
I’d like to skip down and address your side note next, for as we continue I think sharing my understanding on this connects with everything else and particularly the discussion above.
YOU:I think it’s more accurate to say that those who are victorious will be LED by the Holy Spirit to walk in God’s ways, not CAUSED by the Holy Spirit to do that. I don’t think that even those who have been raised to eternal life will be robots without a free will to either obey God or not.
ME:
Ezekiel 36:26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. 27 And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.
Isaiah 11:2 And the Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;
Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
My understanding is that indeed by the Spirit, which holds many components equating to righteousness, comes to dwell in us with all the components that causes our righteousness.
YHVH causing us to walk in all His ways through His Spirit does not make us robots, we still hold our own imaginations our own personalities to then take our righteousness and live as YHVH intended. God did not give this to Adam and Eve nor to anyone mortal but Jesus, it was His word though from the beginning that the Spirit would bring righteousness and thus eternal life to mankind.
As Jesus said, only God is good. God is the source and it is what He has been teaching mankind since the beginning. Faith in God and understanding that He through His Spirit is the SOURCE, comes first, otherwise we would think goodness comes from ourselves, which is a lie, pure vanity.
Gal 2:21 I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.
Righteousness does not come by the law, the law proved our weakness or inability. Jesus anointed of the Spirit without measure and then sent out into the world, where then through the Spirit he offered himself up to the cross, proves that YHVH is the source to mankind’s righteousness. The purpose of the anointed man of the Spirit was to bring us to faith in YHVH and desire His Spirit unto our own righteousness. The man Jesus of Nazareth anointed of the Spirit is our proof of the works of YHVH’s Spirit in a human.
YHVH forgives us our sins through Christ. Most people are FAR from understanding that correctly! Think about it for a minute, Jesus said he of his own self could do nothing and only God is good, He gives all credit to the Father, to His Spirit that lived in him. Our Father gave us time to learn that we are not capable, without the Spirit we were bound to sin. Being saved through Christ represents being saved through YHVH’s anointing Spirit. He is able to forgive us our sins because He knew from the beginning that we needed His Spirit all along. His Word from the beginning was that He would give it to us whereby such comes thus also eternal life.
Thanks for your time in reading this post!
September 17, 2022 at 4:46 am#937513JodiParticipantHi Mike,
Continuing on,
YOU: Also, since Jesus is the only human who was born as a combo of human woman and God Himself (Holy Spirit), then just being born on earth would also make sense as the time when Jesus became God’s true and actual “only begotten son”.
ME: My belief from scripture is that Jesus’s conception in a virgin occurred through the power of God’s Spirit where by that power God took Joseph’s seed and fertilized Mary’s egg making a true human being. I believe Matthew is quite clear in telling us that Jesus’s Genesis is according to the line of Joseph whereby he is the promised son of Abraham and David who would become an eternal king over David’s throne.
Mike, so your belief is an already existing living being who was solely born of God being an only begotten Son, a firstborn overall creation at the beginning, came down to earth and essentially acted as sperm fertilizing Mary’s egg?
Essentially then, the Son was made one kind of living being that was an only kind and then he was transformed into a different kind of living being also an only kind?
What advantage him being a combo being, give him as a baby, child and adult? Why then did God need to have his grace upon him as he grew?.. because part of him was human? How can he be called a human if he is actually a combo, a one of a kind being “of human woman and of God Himself (Holy Spirit)”? That doesn’t actually sound like a human at all to me but yet he is called a human many times. Also, why would he need to receive the Spirit to dwell in him without measure at the river Jordan if he was already created/born of God Himself (Holy Spirit)?
We are specifically told that the purpose of the virgin birth was for a sign unto the house of David concerning who God would not allow to rule on David’s throne in Jerusalem. Seems to me that saying the virgin birth occurred for the purpose that God could bring forth an only begotten Son is a man-made invention that doesn’t align with scripture.
