You are correct that spirit has MANY meanings in scripture, and because of that, it is confusing to some people.

Terricca……….Spirit in it's simplest form is what produces Life itself, and life is cognate awareness , making spirits mean all kind of different things, shows how confusesd most people are. When you see Spirit “Personified ” in scripture it is given that way, because the carnal mind can not conceive it properly, so scripture uses these personified expressions to help make some sense about spirit.  There is no Satan “PERSON” there is the Spirit (life producing effect) of that Kind of Spirit . That is why Jesus could say the Pharisees were “Children” of Satan or the Devil , because that Spirit was operating “IN” them. It was not a being like an angel leading them, but the Spirit of an Adversary (ha-satan) kind working in them and they were following it , So Jesus said to them they were the children of there father the devil That was not an angel he was talking about, but a Spirit. Spirits come in all kind of types and kinds, and they supply there own specific type of Life effect in all creation they are “in”.

Even the Father Jesus Personified , but what did he tell the Apostles later, I have spoken of the Father in a “PROVERBIAL” Language, (a factious language) but a time will come when i will show you clearly of or about the Father. So Jesus used a “FACTIOUS LANGUAGE” in speaking about the Father.

Many think in Ezekiel, scripture says Lucifer was the nane of Satan, but fail to see where God said to him, to take a “PROVERB” (factious illustration? to the King of Babylon, That whole thing spoken from God to the King of Babylon was a “PROVER” a Factious illustration and none of it can be taken in a literal sense but in a comparative sense , God was describing the King of Babylons HEART,  The way his pride was causing him to think.

The word Spirit is only confusing to those who do not understand what it actually is. But i believe as Issac Newton, things are properly understood when they are in there simplest form, Spirits are not hard to understand, if you summerize all statements said about them in scriptures and condense it to it's simplest form. Spirit is what give us our Cognate intellects either clean or unclean, good or evil, each give us there particular attributes and the same Spirit can be working in all at the same time. Spirits are not Angels being or any kind ,nor are they persons, They are what is in Both Angels and Persons , Therefore it say   if the Spirit of him that raised Christ from the Grave be in you he or (IT) shall also quicken (bring back to life) your “Mortal” (dead body) Just as it did Jesus.  

Spiitis are our very intellects , therefore it say So a man thinks so he is and again try the spirit to see if they are from God and again know you not that your “BODIES” are the temples of the LIVING GOD?  Spirit are Life itself is, they come in types and kinds.
