“Most King James readers will not know that the original 1611 had marginal notes, or the apocryphal (catholic) books, or why.”
February 1, 2009 at 5:54 am#119888davidParticipant“Obviously, the kingdom of God did not reside within these carnal, hostile Pharisees. This, together with the fact that only the KJV used the word “within” in this verse, tells us that “within” is not the correct translation. Most translations use the term “among.” Christ was telling the Pharisees that He was the Representative of the kingdom of God that was temporarily “among” them.“
http://www.thercg.org/articles/troebs.htmlGene, I found that websites rules interesting:
Rule #9: Start With Clear Scriptures
The ninth rule of Bible study is: Never attempt to establish doctrine by unclear scriptures.
Gene, you both started and ended with a scripture that the King James Version gives two possible translations for, and that most Bible's translate as “among you” or “in your midst.” You left out the many clear scritpures and started with the unclear one.
Also, this rule, Gene:
Rule #10: Use More Than One Translation
You seem to stick to this one translation that is flawed in that particular verse. It's actually not flawed in that it does give the correct translation, but only as an alternative mentioned in the margin.Heres another one of their rules you seem to have broken:
Rule #4: God’s Word Never Contradicts Itself
Yet, you interpret one scripture in such a way that it contracts many other scriptures. You also believe the kingdom is in the hearts of the pharisees, whom Jesus “answered”, yet scripture says the pharisees where offspring of vipers and condemned to Gehenna, and even that they shut up the kingdom of the heavens, not going in and stopping others from entering. And this rule, which I've already mentioned, you defintely broke:
Rule #6: Examine the Context
Verse 20–pharisees ask the question. Jesus gives an answer to “them.” Yet, you ignore this verse.I guess you broke this rule as well:
Rule #8: The Bible Interprets Itself
Instead of using any other scripture in the Bible to support your belief, you go on and on and on with your philisophical meanderings and false logic. No scriptures.Gene, I really think you should read that whole page on The Rules of Effective Bible Study . A lot of what it says makes sense.

Gene, are you out there?February 3, 2009 at 8:09 am#120117NickHassanParticipantHi,
The kingdom of God includes the kingdom of Jesus beginning 2000 years and culminating in his physical reign from Jerusalem for 1000 years in the seat of David, but then is handed over to his Father. That kingdom has no end.Luke 1:33
And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.1 Corinthians 15:24
Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.February 3, 2009 at 9:34 pm#120174davidParticipantQuote Jesus and the Saints will rule a earthly kingdom, The people in it will be as CARNAL as ever, and will be brought under carnal laws and commandments also. The kingdom of GOD comes without observation , it is within you, and you only see its fruit. –gene, page 17
Is it an “earthly kingdom” or a heavenly kingdom?
2 TIMOTHY 4:18
“The Lord will deliver me from every wicked work and will save [me] for his HEAVENLY KINGDOM To him be the glory forever and ever. Amen.”
(Nowhere in scripture is God's kingdom described as an “earthly kingdom.”)1 CORINTHIANS 15:50
“However, this I say, brothers, that flesh and blood cannot inherit God’s kingdom, neither does corruption inherit incorruption.”
(Flesh and blood cannot inherit God's kingdom, because God's kingdom is “heavenly.”)1 JOHN 3:2
“Beloved ones, now we are children of God, but as yet it has not been made manifest what we shall be. We do know that whenever he is made manifest we shall be like him, because we shall see him just as he is.”
(Those who make up the kingdom will have to undergo a change. They will no longer be “flesh and blood” for flesh and blood “cannot inherit God's kingdom.” So, they “shall be like him” that is, like God. They will become spirit beings.)February 3, 2009 at 9:36 pm#120176davidParticipantQuote in his physical reign from Jerusalem for 1000 years Nick, what do the words “heavenly Jersualem” “Jerusalem above” and “new Jerusalem” mean to you?

The kingdom of heaven is to be extended to earth.

February 3, 2009 at 9:42 pm#120181NickHassanParticipantHi david,
Revelation 21
1And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.2And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
3And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
4And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
5And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.
6And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.
7He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
8But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
9And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife.
10And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,
11Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal;
12And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:
13On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates.
14And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
15And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof.
16And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal.
17And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel.
18And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass.
19And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald;
20The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolyte; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst.
21And the twelve gates were twelve pearls: every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.
22And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.
23And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.
24And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.
25And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.
26And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it.
27And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.

Hebrews 12:21-23
21And so terrible was the sight, that Moses said, I exceedingly fear and quake:)22But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,
23To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,

26But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.Heb11
16But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.Revelation 3:12
Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name. The heavenly Jerusalem was assembled in the mansions of Christ and now comes to earth in the end time.
Revelation 21:2
And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. But during the millenium earthly Jerusalem shall be thr throne of the new david, King Jesus.
hariah 12:8
In that day shall the LORD defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and he that is feeble among them at that day shall be as David; and the house of David shall be as God, as the angel of the LORD before them.Zechariah 12:10
And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.Zechariah 13:1
In that day there shall be a fountain opened to the house of David and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem for sin and for uncleanness.February 4, 2009 at 4:08 am#120258942767ParticipantHi Nick:
You say:
Quote But during the millenium earthly Jerusalem shall be thr throne of the new david, King Jesus. I need to study this some more. At the present time, I can't agree with this statement, but you may be right.
February 4, 2009 at 4:49 pm#120277GeneBalthropParticipantNick………..lets not leave out Heb 12:18-21 For ye are (NOT) come unto that mount that might be touched and that burned with fire, nor unto blacknes, and darkness, and tempest, ..>19..> And the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of words; that the word should not be spoken to them anymore: .20..> (For thy could Not endure that which was commanded, And if so much as a beast touched the mountain, it shall be stoned, or thrust through with a dart> ..21..>And so terrible was the sight, Moses Said< I exceedingly Fear and quake or tremble.
NOTICE WE HAVE (NOT) COME TO THAT KIND OF THING, BUT A DIFFERENT WAY, A LIVING WAY. NOT PRODUCED THROUGH FEAR AND TREMBLING, AS THEY HAD HAPPEN TO THEN. Which by the way did nothing to produce any true righteousness as History show. They were fearful and unbelieving. We have come to a new and living way produces by true FAITH and the LOVE of GOD shed around in our hearts and minds. Nick it boils down to (PHYSICAL) or (SPIRITUAL) If we sow to the Spirit we will reap life. IMO and PAUL'S

Jesus is your King and Lord.
There is no other name under heaven by which you can be saved.February 5, 2009 at 6:41 am#120370davidParticipantBack to the topic.
February 5, 2009 at 7:05 am#120372davidParticipantNick……….you have not one single proof of one single Human person going into a literal lake of literal Fire and Perishing, NON whatsoever Brother your are speculating about a symbolic Word. THERE IS FAR MORE SCRIPTURE THAT SHOWS FIRE AS BEING SYMBOLIC FOR JUDGEMENT THEN ANYTHING ELSE.
So, Gene, apparently, because there are “far more scriptures” that show one thing, we should believe those scriptures.
Well Gene…..believe that the kingdom is what the Bible says it is.
