Hi Irene
My wife wishes you strength and peace and a warm summer.
We are in winter and my feet are cold.Lineon
June 10, 2009 at 9:11 pm#133135LightenupParticipantHi Irene and Lineon,
Here is a song that commonly ends a service. We come to Him just as we are…enjoy!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vSsoZZr4lqQ
1.Just as I am, without one plea,
but that thy blood was shed for me,
and that thou bidst me come to thee,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.2.Just as I am, and waiting not
to rid my soul of one dark blot,
to thee whose blood can cleanse each spot,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.3.Just as I am, though tossed about
with many a conflict, many a doubt,
fightings and fears within, without,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.4.Just as I am, poor, wretched, blind;
sight, riches, healing of the mind,
yea, all I need in thee to find,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.5.Just as I am, thou wilt receive,
wilt welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve;
because thy promise I believe,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.6.Just as I am, thy love unknown
hath broken every barrier down;
now, to be thine, yea thine alone,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.God's love,
KathiJune 10, 2009 at 9:25 pm#133136LightenupParticipantHi Irene,
This is the song that is on my mind when I go walking alone. Which one would you be in this choirhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uVJxMnm_P54
.Come, we that love the Lord,
and let our joys be known;
join in a song with sweet accord,
join in a song with sweet accord
and thus surround the throne,
and thus surround the throne.
Refrain:
We're marching to Zion,
beautiful, beautiful Zion;
we're marching upward to Zion,
the beautiful city of God.2.Let those refuse to sing
who never knew our God;
but children of the heavenly King,
but children of the heavenly King
may speak their joys abroad,
may speak their joys abroad.
(Refrain)3.The hill of Zion yields
a thousand sacred sweets
before we reach the heavenly fields,
before we reach the heavenly fields,
or walk the golden streets,
or walk the golden streets.
(Refrain)4.Then let our songs abound,
and every tear be dry;
we're marching through Emmanuel's ground,
we're marching through Emmanuel's ground,
to fairer worlds on high,
to fairer worlds on high.
(Refrain)Love, Kathi
June 10, 2009 at 10:41 pm#133149CindyParticipantHi Kathi! We did sing that song with Ralph in the Baptist Church He belongs to. And Bill Graham has that song at the end of His Sermons. I really enjoy that song. The Piano Player did good job.
I loved it. Thank you very much.

Hopefully I can get back to writing out a song tomorrow. Love IreneJune 14, 2009 at 4:53 am#133395LightenupParticipantHere is a song that I think could be our Heaven Net theme song…everybody listen and sing-a-long:

June 15, 2009 at 9:32 am#133518CindyParticipantHOW EXCELLENT IS THY NAME
1 How excellent in all the earth, Lord O Lord is Thy name,
Who hast Thy glory far advanced above the starry frame.
From mouths of babes and infants Lord, strength by Thee is ordained,
So that Thy enemies be stilled, Thy vengeful foes restrained.2 When I look up unto the heavens, which Thy own fingers framed,
Unto the moon and to the stars, which where by Thy ordained.
Then say I what is man that Thou should be mindful of Him?
Or what the Son of man, that Thou so kind to Him should be.3 For Thou has made Him little less than the Angels above,
With glory and with dignity, with honor crowned his head.
Appointed Lord of all Thy work, all things under His feet.
All sheep and oxen, yea and beasts that in the field do stray.Peace and Love Irene

The first time that I really listened to this song was during a funeral service and I balled my eyes out! It really touched me. Listen and let me know if you think that you'll dance, I think I will and maybe a line dance with King David…how about that, how cool would that be?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LonOTKVmkeo&feature=related

June 17, 2009 at 11:18 am#133823LightenupParticipantOk Irene, you sing…I'll dance.
Here is a song that was continually on my heart as I carved my wooden deer for the zoo carousel. Since it took me two years, I thought about it a lot It is very worshipful.

KathiJune 17, 2009 at 2:34 pm#133828CindyParticipantKathi! Another beautiful Song. Yes, I too long to worship Him. He is my hearts desire, my apple of my eye.
You Sang it while you were carving, I too have three songs always on my mind. “How great Thou art,” and ” It is well with my Soul”. Also “Hallelujah Praise God.” It gives me also much joy in my days of sorrow. Right now I am battling Diarrhea, lost 15 pound in about 1 1/2.

June 18, 2009 at 7:15 pm#133926LightenupParticipantHere is Steve Green again, this time singing “We Believe.” I can heartily say that I can join him in his words that he sings here. Hallelujah!
June 18, 2009 at 10:16 pm#133935CindyParticipantWow Kathi, He has a beautiful Tenor Voice. He also seems to be so at ease, when He does a Solo. I always found it hard to do.
With all our Love IreneJune 19, 2009 at 1:36 pm#133975LightenupParticipantHey, does anyone remember singing this around the campfire? As a teenager, I was a Christian camp counselor and this song reminds me of those days. It just wasn't a proper camp fire gathering without singing this song. Here it is played with the guitar just like I remember it.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qfOLdaf_6G0&feature=related
Verse 1
It only takes a spark, to get a fire going.
And soon all those around, can warm up in it's glowing.Chorus:
That's how it is with God's love, once you've experienced it, it's fresh like spring, you want to sing, you want to pass it on.Verse 2
What a wondrous time is Spring
When all the trees are budding.
The birds begin to sing,
the flowers start their blooming.Chorus:
Verse 3
I wish for you my friend
this happiness that I've found
You can depend on him
It matters not where your bound.Last chorus:
I'll shout it from the mountain tops
I want the world to know
The Lord of Life has come to me
I want to pass it on.Enjoy,
KathiJune 19, 2009 at 1:53 pm#133977CindyParticipantHi Kathi! You all were so lucky to have had that time as a teenager, I told that to our Children and Grand children too. It was rather hard right after the war. Coming to America was a trip and 1/2 too. We spoke no English. I missed my friends in Germany and making American friends without speaking the language, was impossible to do. After a couple of years however, I met some German girls and it became much easier. I went to Night-School to learn English and took some courses in Bookkeeping, Typing and Shorthand.
I will listen to the Song later.

Hi Irene,
Yes I was very blessed to have grown up having a relationship with the Lord. I can't even imagine how hard it was for you to come here from Germany after the war without knowing English. I spent some time just yesterday with a friend of mine that is from Puerto Rico. She is learning English and I was helping her find an internet provider and getting her set up with one. So, I got a feel for what you must have went through. You have made a good life here and adapted beautifully!God bless your day,
