Literally possible if it is in the future. I sway toward historical fulfillment though, but remain open minded.

How does that make sense?

When John gave the prophecy, the particular head of the beast was Rome. So Rome is the sixth as five had already fallen.

Here is a list of the likely 5 empires that had fallen:

1. Egypt – 3100 to ? (Genesis 12:10)
2. Assyria – 2500 BC to 605 BC (Genesis 2:14)
3. Babylon – 612 – 539 BC (Daniel 1:1)
4. Medo-Persia – 539 – 331 BC (Daniel 5:28)
5. Greecia – 331 – 168 BC (Daniel 10:20)

And after that the Seventh and Eighth . IT’S JUST THAT SIMPLE. IT FIT REV 17 PERFECTLY. Nothing complicated about it it fits the timeline exactly right.   What most nearly all Christanity are saying is going to happen before Jesus returns happens at the end of his regin when God the Father returns . What I wrote fits if you truly think about it.

Been through this before with you Gene. It would be good if you paid attention.

Daniel starts with the King of Babylon being the head of Gold and talks about 3 more kings, / kingdoms.

Revelation 17:9-11 talks about eight kings. Five had already fallen, one was, and one yet to come with a mysterious 8th king that comes from the seven.

The one ‘that is’ has to be Rome because that was the current Empire, thus Rome has to be number six according to John because five have already been and gone.

Thus, Babylon has to be three kingdoms back from there according to Daniel meaning there were two kingdoms before Babylon that rose out of the great sea.

So Daniel’s vision is a subset of John’s vision and it’s real simple math from there Gene.

Please don’t ask about it again. If you cannot comprehend it, then don’t bother me further with it please. If you understand it, then feel free to critique or ask questions about it.

The vision John was carried forward to our day, the time of the judgment. (se Rev.14:7; 17:1)

From the period of the judgment he looked back in time to when the Papal church was supported by the Papal State, the whore supported by the beast.

The angel, speaking from our point in time, told John that the Papal State that supported the Papal Church had been and was not, having been abolished in 1798 – . received a deadly wound. However it is to arise again and be called the eighth head. Then all the corrupt powers which have apostatized from God will give their support to the Papacy for a prophetic hour in her last effort to eradicate the saints. However, when her triumph looks certain her supporters will turn on her and destroy her as described in Revelation 18.

Sorry but the thousand years of peace is now.

Thousand years = very long time.

Peace = “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives.” John 14:27.

My kingdom = “The kingdom of God is not coming in ways that can be observed, nor will they say, ‘Look, here it is!’ or ‘There!’ for behold, the kingdom of God is in the midst of you.” Luke 17:20.

Anyone who is in the kingdom has peace – though he will struggle from outside influences until the harvest.

If we were in Rev.20.7 the devil could not seduce, deceive the nations as he is now doing by all of them. kind of ways like modern or ancient spiritualism and all the false religions. Satan’s job is to destroy, and to achieve this he deceives people with his tricks, he pushes people to sinning against God (as in Eden), and when it is done he accuses them before God day and night as it is said in Rev.12. And I heard a loud voice in heaven saying, “Now salvation has come, and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ; for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. In Rev. 20 we see Satan bound and he can do nothing. On the other hand, AFTER THE MILLENNIUM read below 20:7 And when the thousand years are fulfilled, Satan shall be released out of his prison. 20:8 And he shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to war: for their number is as the sand of the sea. 20:9 And they went up upon the face of the earth, and besieged the camp of the saints, and the beloved city. And a fire came down from heaven, and devoured them. This is what Satan does, to deceive people to make war against God. I wish that he would be thrown into the pond of fire and brimstone …

Hey Berean, can’t say much right now, on way to work but yes, Rev 20:7 – Satan is let loose from being bound (to deceive the nations).

It’s not rocket science. ‘One is’ was the kingdom that was current which was Rome.

Therefore, Rome is the no 6 in John’s prophecy and number 4 in Daniel’s prophecy.

Remember that Daniel has 4 perhaps five kings /kingdoms whereas John has 7 even 8. Clearly John is shown a wider range of time than Daniel.

In conclusion, Rome doesn’t need to be the same number in Daniel’s and John’s respective prophecies / visions.
