Hi TC,
The priorities of men do not match those of God.
Those who are wrapped up in the concept of transient human life do not understand eternal life.
October 14, 2018 at 9:04 am#834797TruthcomberParticipantHi Jodi,
You: Yes Jesus flesh is different it went from human mortal flesh to human immortal flesh. He now has flesh that does not get tired, does not feel pain, does not grow old, does not die.
When Jesus was mortal and now that he is immortal he had been given powers in his mind that came from YHWH opening pathways in his brain, giving him wisdom. This is how he was able as a MORTAL human to walk on water. Much of the human brain has been closed off, YHWH through his Spirit can open up the power of our brains of which makes a human capable of performing signs and miracles, able to control the wind and the water, able to heal people with a word.Me: Now this is the philosophy of men.
Romans 8:3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
Me: Christ was made in the likeness of human flesh at his conception: “God sending his own son”.

You give glory to the flesh.
The Spirit of God is what transforms and enables, not the brains of men.

So now it is his CONCEPTION, not his BIRTH that made him different and with supposed advantages over the rest of us?
Can you follow him?

New American Standard Bible
John 6:63 “It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life.John 1:4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
John 4: 24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
Me: God is spirit and spirit is life, and life is truth. Everlasting life is righteousness.
Man has the spirit of death, because that spirit is not everlasting. It is the spirit of unrighteousness. It is the spirit that gives life to our mortal bodies. It is of the seed of the first Adam. The spirit of life gives life to our bodies reserved in heaven for us. It is similar to the Messiah’s body. It is the spirit of life that gives life to the body of life. The brain is part of the body. Our mortal spirits give life and thought to our mortal bodies. We reach a mortal peak, then we diminish. As we diminish in our physical bodies and brains, we diminish of the spirit that gives life to our human minds and bodies. The spiritual body reserved for each one of us in heaven does not diminish. We have two minds, the mind of the flesh and the mind of the body.
Romans 8:6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. 8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
1 Cor 15: 36 Thou fool, that which thou sowest is not quickened, except it die: 37 And that which thou sowest, thou sowest not that body that shall be, but bare grain (seed) it may chance of wheat, or of some other grain : 38 But God giveth it a body as it hath pleased him, and to every seed his own body.

1 Cor 15:38 But God giveth it a body as it hath pleased him, and to every seed his own body.
2 Cor 5:2 For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven.
Me: Our spirit minds are created the image of our human minds. They have the human heart of Christ in them (Ezk 36:26). Our spirit bodies are created from the image of our human bodies. It is still our unique selves but of the spirit.
1 Cor 15:46 Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.
Me: We have two seeds, one of the human spirit from the first Adam, and one from the spirit of God.

Many here believe in MAGIC.
They think that because of what Jesus did we are saved.
We have to follow this man into his death and resurrection to obtain his salvation as Romans 6 explains.
The
So it is vital that we know he had no head start over us.

Does everyone have two spirits?
October 14, 2018 at 12:10 pm#834807GeneBalthropParticipantJodi……They just don’t get it, just blind guides leading the blind. You are right Jesus still has the exact same body he was raised, and will return with that same body as a son of man. These people want to change all scriptures to say what they in fact are not saying. But you are right God has given us a body just as he pleased and that body can live forever, or there would be no point to keep track of every hair of our heads. Those who discredit what God has made also discredit the one who made it. Much like a picture, he who discredits the picture discredits the artist also.
Hold on to what you have, it is the truth, many here, strain at a gnats and swollow a camels. Hold to what the spirit is teaching you. I know you will because greater is he that is in you, then them that are in the world.
Peace and love to you and yours. ………gene

You claim to SEE while others are blind?
But you have to make up stuff about DNA.

True.
So how do the children of God gain the Holy Spirit?
Do they follow the Son of God into the anointing alike to the Jordan or are they too conceived differently?
October 14, 2018 at 7:59 pm#834815NickHassanParticipantHi TC,
You think when the Spirit of God descended onto Jesus at the Jordan it was JUST as a sign to John?
October 14, 2018 at 9:53 pm#834816TruthcomberParticipantHi Nick,
You: So how do the children of God gain the Holy Spirit?
Me: This is not a thought out question. If you are a child of God, you have already obtained the holy spirit.
If You are not a child of God after Pentecost:
Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Me: We receive the holy spirit when we call upon the name of the Lord through water baptism, if at all possible.
Romans 6:3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? 4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. 5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: 6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
Me: We are baptized with the holy spirit. Water is symbolic of our calling to God to save us.
You: Do they follow the Son of God into the anointing alike to the Jordan or are they too conceived differently?
Me: If Christ is the son of God, he already had the holy spirit before Jordon.
Mark 1:1 The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God;
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God…14 And the Word was made flesh (made one with flesh), and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
Me: The Messiah was the only one conceived with the spirit of God and called the son of God. John the Baptist was not called a son of God until the death, resurrection, and glorification of Christ. Christians are adopted sons of God through Christ.
Romans 8:15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father…17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together
October 14, 2018 at 10:11 pm#834817NickHassanParticipantHi TC,
In Acts hands are laid on those who have repented and been baptised in water for them to receive the Spirit.
Do you agree?
October 14, 2018 at 10:18 pm#834818TruthcomberParticipantHi Nick,
You: You think when the Spirit of God descended onto Jesus at the Jordan it was JUST as a sign to John?
Me: As I partially explained above.
John 1:6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. 7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe 8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light…15 John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before (of higher rank than) me…And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water. 32 And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him.33 And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost. 34 And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.

October 14, 2018 at 10:32 pm#834820TruthcomberParticipantHi Nick,
You: In Acts hands are laid on those who have repented and been baptised in water for them to receive the Spirit.
Do you agree?Me: Yes, if at all possible. Those saints of the OT were not baptized either with water or the holy spirit. How could they? We are baptized into Christ’s death. Instead, they receive the baptism of the holy spirit in their dead state and are brought to life.
John 5:25 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. 26 For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;
New American Standard Bible
1 Cor 15:45 So also it is written, “The first MAN, Adam, BECAME A LIVING SOUL.” The last Adam became a life-giving spirit.October 15, 2018 at 2:28 am#834821JodiParticipantHi Nick,
Yes there was no anointing before he was baptized at the river. However,
40 And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him.
Before his anointing Jesus was filled with wisdom, he was reading the scriptures but he understood them correctly because God’s Spirit was upon him giving him the wisdom to understand correctly. Same as God did for many other men like that of John the Baptist. Jesus was also observing the world around him and the state of man and the state of the world, his thoughts and reasoning to what he was observing was through God giving him wisdom and understanding so that his thoughts and reasoning held truth. Upon his baptism he was given the Spirit of Wisdom, understanding and knowledge without measure.
God gives His Spirit according to His will. Some are left to walk according to their ignorance and their own imaginations, where they are the blind leading others that are blind, thus living in darkness having not the light of the LORD.
