Hi Danny,
Jesus of Nazareth was anointed by the Holy Spirit and power.
It all began with the preaching of John as the same scripture tells us. ACTS 10
The Spirit of God manifests in spiritual actions and none were reported before that baptism.
January 20, 2016 at 7:05 am#807505NickHassanParticipantHi,
I never imagined that the anointing of Jesus at the Jordan would be denied by so many.
The Christmas myth is powerful.
January 20, 2016 at 10:42 am#807511kerwinParticipantDANNY DABBS,
Jesus was foreordained to be the Christ and thus Scripture can say what will be as of it is. It is really a question of what the culture was at that time and how they would voiced the idea and perhaps other passages give us insight into that. I do not know. I am not sure it is important either.
January 20, 2016 at 1:04 pm#807514Ed JParticipantHi Nick,
You have your facts screwed up. No-one is denying Jesus was anointed with God’s Holy Spirit at Jordan.
What we are denying is: that the spirit of Christ came to Jesus at Jordan – the bible says he was born Christ._______________
God bless

Don’t let them confuse you with their rudimentary logic.
Here is the verse that confirms what you believe…“But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah,
yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel;
whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.” (Micah 5:2)Micah 5:2 says Christ came from everlasting to Bethlehem, NOT TO JORDAN!

Ed JJanuary 20, 2016 at 2:46 pm#807518Ed JParticipantClarification…
From everlasting to Bethlehem,
not from everlasting to Jordan.January 20, 2016 at 4:11 pm#807523NickHassanParticipantHi ED,
Yes the Spirit of Christ is from everlasting.
In the beginning the word was with God and was God.
Here is the testimony of Peter.
Acts 10.27f
I take it you all know what has been reported all over Judea about Jesus of Nazareth,
beginning in Galilee with the baptism John preached;
of the way God anointed him with the Holy Spirit and power.
He went about doing good works and healing all who were in the grip of the devil, and God was with him.
January 20, 2016 at 4:12 pm#807524NickHassanParticipantHi ED
So he was not anointed with the Spirit of ANOINTING.
How could this be?
January 20, 2016 at 6:17 pm#807531Ed JParticipantHi Nick,
Because HE IS the spirit of anointing (The Christ).
“And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him.
And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou
shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the
HolySpirit. And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.” (John 1:32-34)January 20, 2016 at 6:37 pm#807533NickHassanParticipantHi Ed,
He is the spirit of anointing.
Can sons of man be spirits of anointing?
Are you?

Hi Nick,
Do you yet not believe Christ is God’s Son? What will
it take for you to believe the biblical narrative? From
everlasting to Bethlehem (Micah 5:2)
and born The Christ (Luke 2:11)_______________
God bless

Hi Nick,
The bible says many received the HolySpirit by the laying on of hands.
January 20, 2016 at 7:45 pm#807536NickHassanParticipantHi Ed,
But none of them are said to be spirits of anointing.
January 20, 2016 at 7:57 pm#807538NickHassanParticipantHi Ed,
Christ means anointed.
So you think he was born anointed and then was anointed at the Jordan?
Two anointings?
January 20, 2016 at 8:17 pm#807541NickHassanParticipantHi Ed,
So the second anointing gave him the words and abilities of God
but the first did nothing???
January 20, 2016 at 8:20 pm#807542NickHassanParticipantHi Ed,
So it is your belief that the anointed one needed to be anointed again at the Jordan?
January 20, 2016 at 8:21 pm#807543NickHassanParticipantHi Ed,
Scripture says that Jesus of Nazareth was anointed with the Holy Spirit and power
but you think Jesus Christ needed to be anointed again?
January 21, 2016 at 8:10 am#807552Danny DabbsParticipantHi @ all!
The Gnostic occultists believed that Jesus was not the Christ, but Christ came down on him at his baptism.
The Bible doesn’t say that Jesus came in the flesh and later became the Christ.
1 John 4:2 By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God.Jesus is the Christ!
blessings!

January 21, 2016 at 8:57 am#807553NickHassanParticipantHi Danny,
Yes it does not say JESUS came in the flesh.
It says JESUS CHRIST.
There is a very important difference-the anointing.

Yes Christ means ANOINTED.
Jesus Christ is the anointed one-since the Jordan
