Hi ED,
ESV Micah 5
But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah,
who are too little to be among the clans of Judah,
from you shall come forth for me
one who is to be ruler in Israel,
whose coming forth is from of old,
from ancient days.
3 Therefore he shall give them up until the time
when she who is in labor has given birth;
then the rest of his brothers shall return
to the people of Israel.
4 And he shall stand and shepherd his flock in the strength of the Lord,
in the majesty of the name of the Lord his God.
And they shall dwell secure, for now he shall be great
to the ends of the earth.
5 And he shall be their peace.
The anointing is what made an ordinary man capable of fulfilling the plans of God.
Born of a woman and born of Israel, the woman.
The work of the Spirit.

Philo does not teach of intermediary beings. He instead taught the actual word of God interceded between God and the angels. He did personalize the word as is done in Scripture but that does not mean it is a being. He is argument is God is to incomprehensible to have direct dealing with his creations.
December 31, 2015 at 1:21 pm#806801NickHassanParticipantHi KW.
“And even if there be not as yet any one who is worthy to be called a son of God, nevertheless let him labour earnestly to be adorned according to his first-born word, the eldest of his angels, as the great archangel of many names; for he is called, the authority, and the name of God, and the Word, and man according to God’s image, and he who sees Israel.”
I rest my case

You need to do more research.
What you see there is a personification.
The Zondervan Encyclopedia of the Bible, Volume 5: Revised Full-Color EditionPhilo personifies the Logos: it is the son of God.
It is like a parable when a being symbolizes the word of God. He does not make that clear except in a few places at most.
December 31, 2015 at 2:27 pm#806803NickHassanParticipantHi KW,
And he calls him an angel and an archangel.
False teaching
December 31, 2015 at 2:29 pm#806804NickHassanParticipantHi KW,
Personification is not appropriate for the Spirit of God
December 31, 2015 at 3:13 pm#806805kerwinParticipantNick,
God’s word is the chief of messengers because the angels obey it.
I do not know why he chose to call it messenger though it does impart messages.
December 31, 2015 at 3:50 pm#806806NickHassanParticipantHi KW,
Rubbish.
Try again.
December 31, 2015 at 4:27 pm#806807kerwinParticipantNick,
Your words are nonsense as they deny that angels obey the word of God.
So please think before your respond.

Wikipedia’s article on Personification in the Bible.
December 31, 2015 at 8:32 pm#806816NickHassanParticipantHi KW,
The will of God is done in heaven.
Despite the rebellion of one third of the Angels.
January 1, 2016 at 12:19 am#806821kerwinParticipantNick,
The fallen no longer fully obey God’s words. Even they are ruled by certain facets of the Logos of God as is revealed in Job. So the will of God holds sway both in heaven and on earth.
January 1, 2016 at 6:42 am#806823NickHassanParticipantHi KW,
Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Certain facets as shown in Job?
January 1, 2016 at 10:21 am#806824GeneBalthropParticipantKerwin…..I think you need to produce scriptures brother, NICK is right in a way, because remember what Jesus said, “thy kingdom come “thy will be done”, in earth, as it is in heaven. So doesn’t this show that the Will of God, is done in heaven?
I do see your point, that just because GOD’S WILL IS DONE in an overall sense. That itself does not nessarly do away with the fact we also have wills, of our own, even if we were in heaven, or if the KINGDOM of God Was on this earth. Perhaps further explaination would help.

Satan had to get God’s okay before he could oppress Job. His actions were also regulated by God. Those also go with Jesus’s’ words to the effect that not even a bird falls from the sky but for the will of God. (Matthew 10:29)
January 1, 2016 at 12:01 pm#806833kerwinParticipantGene,
I would think so but there is also Ephesians 6:12 which speaks of “spiritual forces of evil in heavenly places”.
January 1, 2016 at 12:07 pm#806835kerwinParticipantNick,
Read my post to Gene.
I assume Jesus was speaking about the angels of God and excluding thee “spiritual forces of evil in heavenly places.”

Micah identifies the place where the anointed man, Jesus Christ, was to be born who will rule Israel.
Then it speaks of the relevant anointing on him which is of old, of ancient times.
Hi Nick,
Look again, the Prophet Micah says:
Out of Bethlehem shall come one whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.According to YOU “the spirit of Christ” came from Jordan rather than “out of Bethlehem”
Sorry Nick, but I will take what the bible says rather than what you say about it.January 1, 2016 at 6:57 pm#806850Ed JParticipantNick,

Hi Kerwin,
Have you studied with the JW’s?

Glad to see you are starting to understand we all have “Free will”!
