That is the same thing we do in the United States today though I would have used a different translation. For example “As was held by custom”.
Genetic tests are changing that practice.

I know the words of Mt1.18-20 and Lk3.23 are true but I do not necessary believe your opinion on them. I already stated what I believe both are saying. I am not sure what you think they are saying.

Nick…..Heb 11:17, has be altered the word “son” was added, remove it and it should read, ” BY FAITH Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Issac; and he that recieved the promises offered up his only begotten, “of whom it was said”, that of Isaac shall thy seed be called.
DO YOU SEE THE DIFFERENCE THERE NICK? ABRAHAM could have begotten many sons , but only one did God say was his seed to be called from.

so you accept that what scripture says plainly is true.
God is the natural father of Jesus of Nazareth.

I believe that Jesus was the natural son of God’s Spirit.
His conception is miraculous and so requires no direct father.
His genetic relation to David has to either come through the father or in the case there is no father through the mother, in order for him to be a son of David.
By tradition he is a son of David through Joseph but I am not sure that relationship fulfills the promise made to David.

One) No kidding as God created Adam from the earth, which means the genetic code thereof.
Two) Should God tell Abraham a sheep was his son then who is Abraham to disagree.
Three) Not of these things happened.
Four) Scripture teaches us the power of God overshadowed Mary and she conceived Jesus. That is the description of a miraculous conception; also known as a conception from the Holy Spirit/the Word/God.Hi KW,

I have no idea what you are speaking of.
In regards to the humanity Jesus is the descendant of David.
In regards to the Spirit he is the son of God.Why add to that?

Born to a virgin engaged to a son of David.
Joseph accepted his marriage plan was the will of God.
But God is his genetic father.
He was reborn of the Spirit of God at the Jordan.
