Hi KW,
Looks like a lamb slain?June 11, 2012 at 10:05 am#302010WakeupParticipantQuote (kerwin @ June 11 2012,19:23) Wakeup; Quote Kerwin. What about the 24 elders; are they flesh and bone also?
wakeup.
The only humans that do not have their flesh and blood body changed to a flesh and bone body in the tomb are those that are changed while still living. The elders appear to be human.
Kerwin.My question to you:
A husband died, and his brother married her then he died also, and the next brother married her.
Then later both died; Which one would be her husband,in the kingdom?A family With children died in an accident; will they still call the father dad; and the mother mum,in the kingdom?
Will the parents still call them; my children?
Since God is our father, and we are his children.wakeup.
wakeup.

Nick;Revelations 5:6 has the statement “and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain” in it.

There is no marriage or giving in marriage in the World To Come. Jesus is called both the Son of man and the Son of David; even at the present time.

Exactly.
Not a man slain.June 11, 2012 at 7:30 pm#302026kerwinParticipantMike,
Quote In what way would it conflict with Jesus' words? Are you saying that God can't cause those who are flesh to be born again, not of flesh, but of water and spirit so they can inherit His Kingdom? What I am stating is given the rule is “that which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit” then it follows that only flesh is sired of flesh and only spirit is sired of spirit even though God has the ability to transform one to the other. If you claim that spirit gives birth to flesh or that flesh gives birth to spirit then you are claiming the rule Jesus teaches has exceptions.
Quote And don't forget that Jesus was an exception to almost every human rule. No one else has ever had God as their biological Father and a human woman as their mother, right? That would make Jesus a hybrid and Scripture states he is a human being. God is Spirit and sires children of Spirit and truth. Jesus’ flesh is sired of Mary; for she was flesh.
Quote His teaching was that FLESH cannot enter the Kingdom of God. He taught Nicodemus that in order to enter that Kingdom, one had to be born AGAIN (meaning born of something OTHER THAN flesh). I have no idea where you obtained that idea though he does teach that a person must be sired of both water and spirit in order to enter the kingdom. It parallels the fact that in general a man’s flesh is sired of man and woman.

Flesh gives birth to flesh………………SO…………in order to enter into the Kingdom of God, one must be born AGAIN from above, of water and spirit……………..because FLESH cannot enter.
That is what Jesus taught Nicodemus. Paul confirmed this teaching in 1 Cor 15.

Mike; What you state does not pass testing by the Spirit.
Flesh is sired of the flesh of one's parents.
A righteous and holy spirit is sired of the Spirit of God.
I assure you that those believers that live by the flesh will not inherit the kingdom; nor will they that hear the message and do not adhere to it.

T;Born means procreated in that context as “gennaó” is translated “begat” in reference to men; for example:
Matthew 1:7
King James Version (KJV)7 And Solomon begat Roboam; and Roboam begat Abia; and Abia begat Asa;
You can look it up and discover it is used in reference to either or both a man or a woman.
Mike believes it speaks of the change from a natural body to a spiritual body.

Nick;I strive to remain loyal to the actual meaning of the Ancient Greek but I stretched the meaning of sired to speak of one procreated of neuter gender; which the Ancient Greek words of “flesh” and “spirit”are. Procreated is probably a better choice. The ancient Greek word is “gennaó” and can be used of a male or of a female. The later is a passive of the verb. John 3:6 is using either a middle or passive voice.
Jesus is speaking of entering that union.

Mike;It is not true. He is instead speaking of being procreated-again just as Peter teaches in these two Scriptures.
1 Peter 1:23
King James Version (KJV)23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
and
1 Peter 1:3
King James Version (KJV)3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

Kborn mean beginning of ……just as dead means the END OF THINGS
birth is the beginning of life action…..
so born again would mean restart in a new direction what in this case is going from following the flesh desires to live according to the spirit (Gods will)

T;What you say it true as far as it goes but Jesus was teaching that righteousness and holiness is procreated by Spirit; as it is spirit; while Nicodemus was looking at it from the worldly point of view.
