Mike……This might help you understand what Jesus was saying about, how he would build the chruch. I am going to paraphrase that scripture to try to get the point accros, ok? ,
Jesus ask Peter who he thought he was, Peter responed, you are the Christ the Son of the living God, Jesus responds, “blessed are you (please take notice) “Simmon Barjona” , he did not say “Peter”, but his birth name, “Simmon Barjona”, Ok remember that, then he proceeds to tell him , that flesh and blood (Jesus was flesh and blood), did not “reveal that unto him”, but it was his Father who was in heaven “revealed” it , to him. Jesus was showing Him, God the Father, who is in heaven was the one who gave him that understanding about who Jesus was, then Jesus went on to show him, He also had that reaveald understanding from God also, even about who He, Simmion Barjona ) was, “and I say “ALSO” unto you, YOU are “Peter”, (Peters real name was reaveald from God the Father to Jesus), Jesus had that, reaveald knowledge from God “ALSO”, Like Peter did, and “THAT” was the “POWER” that Jeeus would us to build his Church on, it was the “POWER” of God, to get into our minds and reaveal the truth to us , IS WHAT JESUS WOULD USE TO BUILD His CHURCH, He was not saying it would be “Peter” who would build the church at all, but God the Fathers power to reaveal the truth into our minds. But God and Jesus did use the deciples in helping them build the churches , but it was always God the Father who was the one adding to the Church those He was calling, IMO.
Thats why Jesus said later , “no” man, “CAN” come, unto me , except the Father “Draw” him. Hope that helped Mike.

Mike: GENE, DO YOU BELIEVE THAT YAHWEH IS LITERALLY THE ONE AND ONLY SAVIOR WHO HAS EVER EXISTED? YES OR NO?
Gene: Mike……..YES I DO… How God the Father does it, is another subject. Makes no difference to me it still is him and him “alone” that is doing it, and I give “ALL” the glory of my salvation to him and him alone.
Everything originates with God, and if you really want to get technical about it, a human can’t even be a living soul if not for God, right? Yet we don’t say God is the ONLY person in existence, just because the power of everyone else who exists comes from God, right?
Likewise, every savior owes his own existence to God. But just like we wouldn’t say, “Gene isn’t REALLY a person because he couldn’t even exist without God”, we can’t say, “David isn’t REALLY a savior because he couldn’t save anyone without God”.
You are only a person because of God, but you ARE indeed a real, living person. David was only a savior because of God, but David WAS indeed a real, living savior.
In the NT, Jesus is called our savior by Peter, John, and Paul. Will you claim that all of them were telling lies when they said Jesus was our savior? How about angels of Yahweh?
Luke 2:10-12… But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”
Gene, was God’s angel WRONG to call Jesus our savior? Yes or No?

AGAIN FOR , for the hundreth time, the word God does “not” describe a “PERSON”
Genesis 1:1… In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth.
Gene, which particular word in Gen 1:1 indicates that a PERSON created the heaven and the earth?

It didn’t. I was just you pontificating again. Jesus said, “YOU are ROCK – and upon this ROCK I will build my church. And whatever YOU bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever YOU loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”
The fact that Jesus first identified Peter as Simon, and THEN said, “YOU are ROCK – and upon this ROCK I will build my church” only adds to my argument, because it shows that before Jesus said he’d build his church upon a specific rock, he first went out of his way to identify someone named Simon as that specific Rock.
Anyway, this is just a side issue that you brought up. We have more important things to discuss, and so I anxiously wait for your answers to those last two questions. Cheers
Mike……you asked, which paticular word in Gen1:1 indicated that a person created the heavens and the earth? There is no paticular word there which identifies which person or God, created the heavens and the earth. That is supplied later in the text as the “LORD” GOD. The LORD being the “person” your asking for.
You still can’t get it into you head that the word God is not a person it is “your” relationship with something “anything”, even a tree?
LORD, YAHOVAH/ YEHWEH= the person
YOUR GOD= the relationship “you” have with him , she, or it, even a tree. In your case it could be 100’s if not thousands of different people or persons, because you believe people are God’s. Right?
If you want i will parahprase Gen 1:1 …… “In “the” ( definet artical “the”, there implies a “paricular” beginning) , beginning (a) God created the Heavens and the earth.” “Our” GOD had not at that time desclosed his personal name to anyone yet.
The Hebrews only know him as “their” Great invisable “power” they leaned on and trusted in. They only saw him that way, so their pictoruial leter for this unseen “power they trusted in ” was written as symbol of an OX HEAD with a SHEPARDS STAFF leaving into it. Now you know the reason they had Aron the high priest make a Gold image of a calf.
Exo 15:2……The LORD (thats the person), is my strength and song; and is become my salvation, he is “MY” GOD and I will prepare him an habitation; my Father’s God, and I will exalt him.
God is the relationship, we have with him, whose “name” is the LORD, OR YAHOVAH/YEHWEH

Mike……Your Job here is to prove to us there are many “true” God/gods, other then the ONE, “PERSON” we call, the LORD, Yahovah/yehweh.
You have to disprove God the Father himself, that when he said he looked for other God’s /god’s he found none.
Isa 43:3……“for “I” Am the “LORD” “your” “God”, the Holy one of Israel , your SAVIOUR. :
Isa 43: 11……“I” , even “I”, am the “LORD” ; and besides me there is “NO” SAVIOUR.
QUESTION IS, Mike do you truly believe the “LORD”, “OUR” GOD , and also what Jesus said about him? “thou are the “ONLY” TRUE GOD”, that means all the others are not “true” God’s Mike. Anyway you want to cut it IMO.
