Yes he was born the Christ as it is written:
“Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord”.
Some teach that he was NOT the Christ and they try to make out it is only by leading of the Spirit can you turn that verse into the opposite:
“Today in the town of David a Savior has NOT been born to you; he is NOT the Messiah, the Lord”.
July 26, 2018 at 2:05 am#832860JodiParticipantHi t8,
As Gene I believe already pointed out, upon his birth were the people saved from their sins? His birth wiped away our sins? NO! At the river Jesus was BORN of God’s Spirit and then he was sent out to speak the words of God and perform God’s will. He went to the cross being perfected as a human being and then he died, by that death we are set free from our sins.
Also the baby was a master, the baby that was wetting and pooping himself and could not speak, was our master? NO! When he was sent out after his anointing he was sent out a prophet, and a high priest, he spoke the words of God with authority, he performed miracles, he forgave sins and healed. When he was raised from the dead God appointed him authority to be a judge, to rule over all the works that God had made. All the generations that God brought forth from A to Z Jesus was given authority over from A to Z. From the beginning to the end, from the first generation to the last generation Jesus brings A to Z into judgment, some to eternal life and others to their final end.
God declared the end from the beginning, the end was to bring eternal life to humans and set up an eternal kingdom of righteousness. All things were made through and for eternal life to humans, NOTHING would God have made if it were not for this plan that comes at the end. The man, Jesus that died on the cross brought the eternal life, and God put in this resurrected man’s hands ALL of CREATION.
July 26, 2018 at 2:49 am#832862GeneBalthropParticipantT8….What Jodi said is apsolutely right, what stops you from seening that? Is it not your preconcieved idea that Jesus existed before his birth on this earth. Me and Jodi are in full agreement on this, and i believe Nick is also. Until you come to see Jesus as a “perfected” human being, you haven’t even truly begun to see the truth brother. Jesus is our human brother in the household of God .
Jesus is one of “US” humans, born exactly as we are, had to grow from birth in knowledge and understanding and mature exactly as we do, had to overcome sin through the anointing he recieved at the Jordan river, live a perfect life and offer that life for the sins of the world.
I can’t for the life of me understand why you can’t understand that. Who died for your sin T8, was it a preexisting God or demigod or what., or was it the “man” Jesus, who is called the christ or anointed one of God? Who died for you T8, a man or something else?
Peace and love to you and yours. …….gene
July 26, 2018 at 5:19 am#832864NickHassanParticipantHi T8,
Where did I say that Jesus Christ was not the Messiah, the Christ, the Son of the living God?
I did not so why do you slander me?
July 26, 2018 at 5:33 am#832865NickHassanParticipantHi Jodi,
You think you have identified the Parable in Lk 16 as FICTION.
Jesus did a lot of his teaching through parables so we need to know if other parables are also FICTIONAL.
Now this in on top of your charges that the NT contains JEWISH SUPERSTITION and GREEK MYTHOLOGY.
So you will soon have to tell us if
The recorders of the NT did not have inspired memories or
The words of the NT have been altered or
The words of the NT are not inspired at all or
Jesus Christ and the apostles cannot be trusted or
The Spirit did not inspire the words of the NT
and why only you can be trusted to explain it all for us.
Some the us believe that God inspired the whole scriptures and they are truthful and to be trusted.

After that he must be released for a little while. Then I saw thrones, and seated on them were those to whom the authority to judge was committed. Also I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus and for the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended. This is the first resurrection. …

July 26, 2018 at 6:37 am#832867NickHassanParticipantHi Jodi,
Please correct me if my perceptions of your teachings are wrong.
July 26, 2018 at 6:41 am#832868NickHassanParticipantHi Anthony,
God is love. And He wants all men to be saved.
God sends His rain on the good and the wicked alike.
All day long He shows his mercy to all people everywhere.
But that mercy should not be taken for granted ever by anyone.
There is one way of salvation, in Jesus Christ the redeemer and saviour.
Universalism is a false trail.
July 26, 2018 at 8:16 am#832869JodiParticipantWe should probably take this discussion to another topic.
Hi Nick, This is what I ACCEPT,
I ACCEPT that people don’t repent once they go down to the grave, as they cannot receive hope while they are in the grave, they know nothing.
Isaiah 38:18 For the grave cannot praise thee, death can not celebrate thee: they that go down into the pit cannot hope for thy truth.
I ACCEPT that it is VANITY if we think we are any different than the animals when we die.
12 Nevertheless man being in honour abideth not: he is like the beasts that perish.
20 But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the LORD shall be as the fat of lambs: they shall consume; into smoke shall they consume away.
I ACCEPT that we are of the dust and when we die we return to the dust, our LIFE is taken away.
Genesis 3:19 In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.
Psalms 104:29 Thou hidest thy face, they are troubled: thou takest away their breath, they die, and return to their dust.
Ecc 3: 20 All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again
7 Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it
I ACCEPT that when we die we are completely destroyed,
20 He that sacrificeth unto any god, save unto the LORD only, he shall be utterly destroyed.
26 I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that ye shall soon utterly perish from off the land whereunto ye go over Jordan to possess it; ye shall not prolong your days upon it, but shall utterly be destroyed.
9 By the blast of God they perish, and by the breath of his nostrils are they consumed.
I ACCEPT that God gives life and prosperity, and that He likewise brings death and destruction.
15 See, I set before you today life and prosperity, death and destruction.
I ACCEPT that God will destroy man because of sin, that where there is sin there is death.
7 And the LORD said, I will destroy MAN whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them. 8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.
Romans 5: 12 Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned—
Romans 6: 23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
I ACCEPT the definitions given by scripture about the soul, and that we are TOLD that the SOUL that SINS DIES.
Ezekiel 18:20 The soul that sinneth, it shall die.
The soul SINS, and sin brings forth death to the soul.
I ACCEPT that it is the soul that which desires, works, swears, touches, grieves, has bitterness, trespasses, eats, rejoices.…
9 Then my soul will rejoice in the LORD and delight in his salvation.
2 Or if a soul touch any unclean thing, whether it be a carcase of an unclean beast, or a carcase of unclean cattle, or the carcase of unclean creeping things, and if it be hidden from him; he also shall be unclean, and guilty.
4 Or if a soul swear, pronouncing with his lips to do evil, or to do good, whatsoever it be that a man shall pronounce with an oath, and it be hid from him; when he knoweth of it, then he shall be guilty in one of these.
15 If a soul commit a trespass, and sin through ignorance, in the holy things of the LORD; then he shall bring for his trespass unto the LORD a ram without blemish out of the flocks, with thy estimation by shekels of silver, after the shekel of the sanctuary, for a trespass offering:
2 As God liveth, who hath taken away my judgment; and the Almighty, who hath vexed my soul;
17 And if a soul sin, and commit any of these things which are forbidden to be done by the commandments of the LORD; though he wist it not, yet is he guilty, and shall bear his iniquity.
Judges 10: 16 And they put away the strange gods from among them, and served the LORD: and his soul was grieved for the misery of Israel
1 Sam 1: 10 And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed unto the LORD, and wept sore.
20 But the soul that eateth of the flesh of the sacrifice of peace offerings, that pertain unto the LORD, having his uncleanness upon him, even that soul shall be cut off from his people.
I ACCEPT that it is the soul that worketh, and when it sins that soul DIES.
Leviticus 23: 30 And whatsoever soul it be that doeth any work in that same day, the same soul will I destroy from among his people
Ecclesiastes 9:10 Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.
I accept that it is the soul that praises the Lord and that when you die your soul dies and cannot praise God.
22 Praise the LORD, all his works everywhere in his dominion. Praise the LORD, my soul.
Isaiah 38:18 For the grave cannot praise thee, death can not celebrate thee: they that go down into the pit cannot hope for thy truth.
I ACCEPT that it is the soul that lives and therefore dies.
11 And Uriah said unto David, The ark, and Israel, and Judah, abide in tents; and my lord Joab, and the servants of my lord, are encamped in the open fields; shall I then go into mine house, to eat and to drink, and to lie with my wife? as thou livest, and as thy soul liveth, I will not do this thing.
26 And she said, Oh my lord, as thy soul liveth, my lord, I am the woman that stood by thee here, praying unto the LORD.
Ezekiel 18:20 The soul that sinneth, it shall die..
I ACCEPT that Jesus described death like the city dump that burns garbage and animal carcasses.
I ACCEPT that Jesus referred to death as sleep, not as a place of either torments or rewards.
I ACCEPT that Jesus says that we should fear God who is able to destroy both soul and body.
I ACCEPT that God has appointed a DAY when a MAN will judge the world.
I ACCEPT that God has reserved people until the day of judgement, some are reserved in freedom having Christ already marked on their foreheads, while others are reserved in chains, as they are not free as they died not accepting or knowing the truth of Jesus.
Acts 17: 30 In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent. 31 For he has set a day when he will judge the world with justice by the man he has appointed. He has given proof of this to everyone by raising him from the dead.”
Matthew 10:15 Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.
Matthew 11: 22 But I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the day of judgment, than for you.
Matthew 12: 36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
2 Peter 2:9 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:
I john 4: 17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world
Jude 1: 6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.
1 Thess 4: 14 For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. 15 According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air.
Nick you deny all these passages and many many more!! Instead you hang on a parable. You deny that men are reserved in the grave sleeping the sleep of death awaiting to wake and be judged, instead you say people are judged upon death and then judged again later during the resurrection. You deny hundreds of scriptures about the soul and how the soul is defined.
I praise the Lord with my life, I praise the Lord with my soul, they are the same thing. My soul works to please God, my life’s work is to please God, they are the same thing. My life rejoices in God, my soul rejoices in God, they mean the same thing. In my life I have grief, in my soul I have grief, they mean the same thing. They took his soul he died, they took his life, he died, they mean the same thing.
Nick please define soul and spirit for us?
Yes a soul, a person’s life is separated from the breath of God, when that happens the soul dies, that person’s life is finished until they are raised from the dead and either receive eternal life or judgement.
The word soul in OT is nephesh it is translated as,
soul 475, life 117, person 29, mind 15, heart 15
Numbers 35: 31 Moreover ye shall take no satisfaction for the life (nephesh) of a murderer, which is guilty of death: but he shall be surely put to death.
There are many scriptures using the term “put to death” and it represents the person, their soul, their life that is put to death. These passages say absolutely nothing about it just being the body being put to death, on the contrary it is their soul that is put to death, it is their life that comes to an end, these mean the same thing!!!!
July 26, 2018 at 8:44 am#832870NickHassanParticipantHi Jodi,
Why not ACCEPT all of scripture? Are we fit to judge and sift through the beautiful harmony of the word of God?
A wise storeman can take good things OLD AND NEW from his storehouse. The New Testament interprets the Old.
Scripture only speaks of those who are ALIVE IN THE SPIRIT as ones who sleep.
Even Ecclesiastes does define between the fate of men and animals.
July 26, 2018 at 8:51 am#832871NickHassanParticipantHi Jodi,
You focus on the FIRST DEATH, the one that has been proven to be a mirage for those in Christ.
It s the SECOND DEATH that can destroy both body and soul and we should mind.
July 26, 2018 at 8:53 am#832872NickHassanParticipantHi Jodi,
The greeks worship at the feet of REASON.
We know how deceptive are the reasonings of men.
July 26, 2018 at 8:58 am#832873NickHassanParticipantHi Jodi,
So there is much of the SPIRITUAL TEACHINGS OF JESUS CHRIST that you cannot ACCEPT.
We need to be renewed in the SPIRIT of our minds to grasp what is spiritual.
The lack is always in us, not the food of the Word of God.
July 26, 2018 at 9:00 am#832874NickHassanParticipantHi Jodi,
Let scripture define soul and spirit for you.
There is a division between them
July 26, 2018 at 9:08 am#832875NickHassanParticipantHi Jodi,
When we die we are completely destroyed?
You speak of the first death as if you are subject to it and have yet to find the waters bubbling up to eternal life.
Then you have missed the whole point of the life giving mission of Jesus Christ.
Do not stay in intellectualism but seek the Spirit.
July 26, 2018 at 9:14 am#832876NickHassanParticipantHi Jodi,
Jonah, the anointed man who died, prayed to God from the Pit, from the depths of Sheol, and he was heard.
He was resurrected and became as a sign to all men that we can hope in the same resurrection.
But you do not believe in Sheol and your doctrines entrap your mind. Sigh.
July 26, 2018 at 10:12 am#832877NickHassanParticipantHi Jodi,
Life and truth came in Jesus Christ.
The OT preaches to the dead because only the anointed ones were blessed in the Spirit of eternal life.
Only observance of the Law could bring OT men to acceptability with God.
But now we are all offered the Spirit.
No excuses anymore.
July 26, 2018 at 11:48 am#832878NickHassanParticipantHi Jodi,
The wicked angels are in chains.
Such is not said of men.
July 26, 2018 at 12:13 pm#832879NickHassanParticipantHi Jodi,
God defines man in two ways.
Dust.
“Then the Lord God formed MAN from the DUST of the ground”
“Remember man that thou art dust and unto dust thou shalt return.”
Soul
“..and MAN became a living SOUL”
So when scripture says a SOUL dies it is the man that dies, not his SOUL.
1 thess 5.23
“Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit, soul and body be preserved complete,
without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ”
July 26, 2018 at 12:22 pm#832880NickHassanParticipantHi Jodi,
Those who are UTTERLY DESTROYED are those idolaters who cannot find mercy and suffer the second death.
