Hi Nick,
“God is the Father of Adam.
Jesus is a son of Adam.”So all people are by creation sons of God even as Paul said in quoting a Greek poet ” For we are also his offspring” Acts17:28
July 8, 2018 at 7:10 am#831968NickHassanParticipantHi Andrew,
Scripture is spiritual.
Logic fails to grasp it’s fullness.
July 8, 2018 at 7:13 am#831969NickHassanParticipantHi Andrew,
Yes.
The Father of spirits is the source of all life.
But it does not save. You must be reborn from above even to see the kingdom.
July 8, 2018 at 7:17 am#831970NickHassanParticipantHi Andrew,
The new creation is in the Son and is according to the Spirit.
The sons of God are led by the Spirit of God.
July 8, 2018 at 7:18 am#831971AndrewADParticipantSo according to you being spiritual is not logical?
or the bible is only logical when it makes sense to you?
July 8, 2018 at 7:44 am#831972NickHassanParticipantHi Andrew,
Yes.
No. Logic is close to uselessness.
July 8, 2018 at 7:59 am#831973GeneBalthropParticipantAndrewAD. …So to you truth dosen’t have to make any sense? So we can just imagine anything and it’s true?. Those are the words of those who have not the spirit of truth abiding in them. Those who have the spirit of God in them know exactly what the truth is, because the Spirit showing it to them, that is why they are bold in their words.
They know whereof they speak, haven’t you noticed that trinitarians when confronted, say many times, you have to take that on faith. That simply means they haven’t a clue of what their saying. It’s Simply a case if the blind leading the blind and they are not falling into the ditch, they are in the ditch groping at the walls trying to find a way out.
It time we all get straightened out here, while we may not know everything, but who the real Jesus is we certainly do know that, and we are preaching the real Jesus loud and clear, for all those who has an ear to hear.
Our cry is for all to come out of those false trinitarian teachings that have plegued christianity for almost the last 2000 years. Back to the faith that was once and for alltime delivered, unto the people of God.
2Ti 1:7…For God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
Peace and love to you and yours. …..gene
July 8, 2018 at 8:07 am#831974NickHassanParticipantHi Gene,
But you are the one who has opposed the teachings of Jesus about Satan, unclean spirits and the kingdom of darkness.
What gives?
July 8, 2018 at 8:33 am#831975AndrewADParticipantGene,
“AndrewAD. …So to you truth dosen’t have to make any sense?” And just where did I say or insinuate that? I think it was Nick who said logic is uselessness not I.
So Satan, virgin birth and preexisting sons of God are all illogical to you so you just dismiss them from your theology and then say those who believe these things from the bible are heretics? Yes religion is truly illogical as in crazy and people do imagine whatever and believe it and then others believe them.
July 8, 2018 at 8:53 am#831976NickHassanParticipantHi Gene,
What value is there in opposing teachings about false gods if you also oppose those of the Son of God?
July 8, 2018 at 11:11 am#831978NickHassanParticipantHi Gene
You IMAGINE spirits are intellects.
And you add your ideas to truth.
July 8, 2018 at 11:42 am#831979JodiParticipantLU, you said
“No Nick, not a gamete. The Son in spirit form was brought forth into Mary’s womb where He united with the flesh of a developing human being when Mary conceived.”
In order for Jesus to be a MAN, a human being he needed a HUMAN SPERM and a HUMAN EGG.
LU do you deny that it is the Son of MAN WHO FOREGIVES your SINS?
6 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins
word MAN transliterted word Anthropos —a human being, whether male or female
to distinguish man from beings of a different orderMatthew DECLARES the word of GOD having been fulfilled, that by the seed of David God would be a Father unto David’s son. This IS the BLOODLINE of Jesus.
Matthew 1 establishes that Jesus IS the biological son of Joseph, the passage begins by saying, “The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.” then it goes forward saying Abraham begot Isaac, …going to the begetting of David…going to the begetting of Joseph. Jesus is the seed of David through Joseph by the power of the Holy Spirit placing his seed into Mary. This son born of Mary is the fulfillment of the promise given to David, where God would become a Father to David’s seed.
LU OT prophecy tells us WHY God would bring forth the seed of David by a virgin.
You give one reason and God has given us another reason. Am I to believe you or God LU? The WHY to the virgin birth has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with a pre-existing son. WHAT RIGHT DO you think you have to change the reason as to WHY and say it is because the seed of David must also be the spirit of a pre-existing son?
You have NO RIGHT to change the word of God, nor the REASON as to WHY He made the virgin conceive a son of David a son of Abraham. LU it is despicable what you and so many others have done to the word of God changing the very REASON why He brought forth David’s seed by a virgin. Matthew and Mark speak of the virgin birth so that the PROMISE could be confirmed that was given in Isaiah 7 to the house of David. The tribe of Ephraim wanted to take over Judah and place their son as king over Judah, God would not have it, that would break His promises, and to give them a SIGN for His word, regarding the promised Messiah, of the seed of David, the anointed one chosen from among the tribe of Judah, He would bring him forth by a virgin.
Notice that Matthew specifically speaks of Isaiah 7,
Matthew 1:22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, 23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
I Peter 1:20 Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you, 21 Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.
To twist Matthew 1:23 to say here is proof that Jesus is God because he was to be called “God with us”, is likewise despicable, it is to be in full denial of 1 Peter 20 and likewise many other scriptures, where we are told that God gave us the chosen one out of the Tribe of Judah so that we may believe in God, so that we may believe that God is with us through whom He perfected and MADE a master and the Christ. Jesus said that if you receive him you are receiving the Father this is because,
John 5:19 Then answered Jesus and said unto them,Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.30 I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.
REALLY LU, I am suppose to believe that Jesus being called “God with us” means Jesus is God, but yet as that god he could do nothing of himself. Your reasoning is blind and pure foolishness.
HERE is ANOTHER REASON for the VIRGIN BIRTH, and it has NOTHING to do with pre-existing,
1 Corinthians 7:34 There is difference also between a wife and a virgin. The unmarried woman careth for the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit: but she that is married careth for the things of the world, how she may please her husband.
Many OT promises given, not one mention a pre-existing son, ALL refer to a human, and some refer to the seed of Abraham, or the seed of David, or the tribe of Judah, or of the clan of Bethlehem.
The Messiah was not to be of a pre-existing son but of God’s words that would come to be fulfilled.
Galatians 3:18 For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise. 19 Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.
2 John 1:7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.
COMING in the flesh is not held to saying Jesus had a mortal fleshly body, he was IN the FLESH which equates to him having a mind and will of a man, that he was able to be tempted as we are tempted. If he did not have the spirit of a man he would NOT BE A MAN, he would be some other sort of being. It would have been impossible for Jesus to have his MIND tempted if he didn’t have the mind of a man. The brain is part of the fleshly body. It was the mind of man that needed perfecting. God perfected Jesus through suffering, suffering of the body tempts the mind, but Jesus overcame.
Jesus as Jehovah, as a pre-existing eternal son NEEDING to be perfected? FOOLISHNESS!
This is the will of a human being speaking,
Luke 22:42 Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.
Jesus had the mind and will of a man, he had to overcome the carnal mind.
Matthew 19:17 And he said unto him,Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
REALLY LU this is what Jesus says when he is the great pre-existing son Jehovah?
WHAT LU did the pre-existing spirit due for the infant, for the boy that grew having the GRACE of God upon him? What did it do for the man that was anointed by God, given God’s Spirit without measure, giving him power, wisdom, and understanding?
What you speak is pure vanity, you take away the gospel, the work of God in a true man in a 100% human being. You take away the glory of God and what He accomplished in the 100% human being. You take away the glory of Jesus, being the 100% human man who FINALLY gave up the will of a man and perfectly submitted to the will of God. You take away our own hope and glory, for we are to become that which Jesus became, and our confidence is in the belief that if God could perfect one man He can perfect all.
These scriptures tells you precisely that Jesus could not be Jehovah and that he did not create the heavens and earth. WILL you discuss these scriptures or will you deny them?
Psalms 8:1 O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens. 2 Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger. 3 When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; 4 What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? 5 For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour. 6 Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:
Isaiah 45:6 That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the LORD, and there is none else. ..11 Thus saith the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, and his Maker, Ask me of things to come concerning my sons, and concerning the work of my hands command ye me. 12 I have made the earth, and created man upon it: I, even my hands, have stretched out the heavens, and all their host have I commanded. 13 I have raised him up in righteousness, and I will direct all his ways: he shall build my city, and he shall let go my captives, not for price nor reward, saith the LORD of hosts.
There is ONE LORD and no one else He made the earth, and this ONE LORD who says He made the earth speaks of creating man, speaks of raising up a man in righteousness and speaks of directing this man’s ways. The man that He is speaking of is Jesus of course.
This LORD that made earth does NOT say that He came to heaven, He says that He raises up a man in righteousness.
God created the heavens, the earth and man to lead man to righteousness and eternal life. God did it THROUGH the Son of Man of whom He raised up in righteousness by anointing him with His Spirit, and THROUGH him by offering him as a sacrifice for our sins, so that we too can be made righteous.
19 For it pleased the Father that in him ( in the man that shed his blood) should all fulness dwell; 20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself ; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven. 21 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled 22 In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:

July 8, 2018 at 2:07 pm#831986NickHassanParticipantHi Jodi,
Don’t work so hard you exhaust yourself.
Unless they have a love of the Word it is futility.
The spirit of human religion is so comforting to the lost.
July 8, 2018 at 2:20 pm#831988NickHassanParticipantHi TC,
It is a popular thing to deny the anointing at the Jordan.
But I am grateful we have a man we can follow.
He had to suffer and die, we have it easy.
Buried with him by baptism in his name we can be given life now, and raised up by the Spirit.
Rom 6.3
Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptised into Christ Jesus have been baptised into his death? Therefore we have been buried with him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life. For we have become united with him in the likeness of hs death, certainly we shall also in the likeness of his resurrection.
July 8, 2018 at 3:35 pm#832003JodiParticipantTo break down my long post,
Folks I’d appreciate it if you could address the follow question.
Why was Jesus born from a virgin? Answer, give scripture and understanding
My answer:
Jesus was born from a virgin because God had promised it as a SIGN unto the house of David, due to the threat of the tribe of Ephraim. By this sign they would know that a seed of David would remain on the throne, and the promise of the Messiah was still intact.
Jesus was born from a virgin because once you are married your focus is on your husband and the world, and not on the Lord.
The prophet Isaiah says,
Isaiah 7:7 Thus saith the Lord GOD, It shall not stand, neither shall it come to pass. 8 For the head of Syria is Damascus, and the head of Damascus is Rezin; and within threescore and five years shall Ephraim be broken, that it be not a people. 9 And the head of Ephraim is Samaria, and the head of Samaria is Remaliah’s son. If ye will not believe, surely ye shall not be established. 10 Moreover the LORD spake again unto Ahaz, saying, 11 Ask thee a sign of the LORD thy God; ask it either in the depth, or in the height above. 12 But Ahaz said, I will not ask, neither will I tempt the LORD. 13 And he said, Hear ye now, O house of David; Is it a small thing for you to weary men, but will ye weary my God also?
Ephraim was plotting to take over Judah and it’s rulership by placing one of their own on the throne, God declares it will not stand and would bring forth a sign so that they would know that another tribe would not rule over Judah. David’s seed rules over Judah.
14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. 15 Butter and honey shall he eat, that he may know to refuse the evil, and choose the good. 16 For before the child shall know to refuse the evil, and choose the good, the land that thou abhorrest shall be forsaken of both her kings.
THE VIRGIN BIRTH WAS FOR A SIGN for the HOUSE OF Judah, to show that God is still WITH them and He will not forsake His promises. If Ephraim took over Judah how is it that their Messiah would come? They were weary. The house of Judah that Isaiah was speaking to knew full well the promises given to David.
NONE of which those promises to David God said He was sending His firstborn son to be David’s son.
The OPPOSITE is told to David, that of his son God would be a Father to him and would MAKE David’s son God’s firstborn. What did David know of his son? That he would be raised from the DEAD, a FIRSTBORN of the DEAD.
God did indeed not forsake the tribe of Judah, HE WAS WITH them through their Messiah who spoke His words and performed His will in HIS NAME, so that they would believe further in Him, the ONE TRUE GOD.
John 5:38 And ye have not his word abiding in you: for whom he hath sent, him ye believe not. 39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. 40 And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life. 41 I receive not honour from men. 42 But I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you. 43 I am come in my Father’s name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive. 44 How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only? 45 Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust. 46 For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me. 47 But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?
Deuteronomy 18:18 I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him. 19 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.
Psalms 89:24 But my faithfulness and my mercy shall be with him: and in my name shall his horn be exalted. 25 I will set his hand also in the sea, and his right hand in the rivers. 26 He shall cry unto me, Thou art my father, my God, and the rock of my salvation. 27 Also I will make him my firstborn, higher than the kings of the earth. 28 My mercy will I keep for him for evermore, and my covenant shall stand fast with him.
I Peter 1:20 Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you, 21 Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.
We are given another reason for why God had the seed of David come forth from a virgin,
1 Corinthians 7:34 There is difference also between a wife and a virgin. The unmarried woman careth for the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit: but she that is married careth for the things of the world, how she may please her husband.
I LOOK FORWARD to hearing other’s answers and their scriptures.
July 8, 2018 at 3:40 pm#832004JodiParticipantThanks Nick, but it does causes me to read more and more scriptures, and it has caused me to have a greater understanding myself, and I love that it has caused me to have so many verses ingrained in my head now!!
July 8, 2018 at 4:24 pm#832006NickHassanParticipantHi Jodi,
Why?
To remove any question of paternity.
Men will argue about anything to justify their religious persuasions.
July 8, 2018 at 6:34 pm#832008JodiParticipantAnthony a verse is connected to all other verses. One verse aids in the understanding of another. I know you know that!
Verses are held in the context of not just it’s chapter but with the entire bible. I’m sure you know that as well.
LOGIC, when it comes to debating scripture, does exist. It exist when a person gives an understanding to a verse and it does not contradict with other verses.
An understanding of a verse that makes it contradict another verse makes that understanding illogical.
Likewise an understanding that is not based on any scripture is illogical.
Scripture does make other scriptures make more sense. Many passages in the NT can be a challenge to understand if you are not well versed in the Old Testament. Often an answer to a verse in the NT as to what it means can be found in the Old Testament.
If you interpret one scripture and it causes other scriptures to not make sense, then you have misinterpreted that one scripture, and your understanding is illogical. We all know that certain scriptures are rather clear and interpretation is not a factor, so certain people are without excuse when they bring forth an understanding of one scripture that contradicts the clear ones. This is when someone is said to be in denial or is blind or foolish.
Using LOGIC completely applies.
Is the bible illogical to many people because they do not believe in God, yes, we all know that.
But get this, even if a person does not believe in God or that the bible is truth, they can still read it and decipher what it says and what it does not say. This is because God is not an author of confusion, scripture is to connect and make sense, whether you believe it is true or not.
There are those that say they believe the bible is true but yet they are blind and do not comprehend what has been written. Scripture speaks of these blind people, they are illogical when it comes to scripture.
Then we have those that are called to believe that the bible is true who are not blind but able to understand what it says and what it does not say.
July 8, 2018 at 7:22 pm#832009NickHassanParticipantHi,
Since the Greeks wanted to meet with Jesus in Jn 12 their LOGIC has infiltrated and largely destroyed truth.
