You keep writing this thing: “The Lord is the Spirit”.
What does it mean?

There is a thread for this.May 4, 2010 at 10:04 pm#189950JustAskinParticipantPlease Nick,

Something came to me today, and I thought I'd share it with you.
Jack says:
Now here is the death blow to your Arain goo ga goo ga. In Exodus 23:20-25 Jehovah said that He will send His Messenger to bring the people into the land that He has prepared for them. Then in verse 25 Jehovah Himself calls His Messenger by the name “Jehovah.” He said,
20 “Behold, I send My Messenger before you to keep you in the way and to bring you into the place which I have prepared. 21 Beware of Him and obey His voice; do not provoke Him, for He will not pardon your transgressions; for My name is in Him. 22 But if you indeed obey His voice and do all that I speak, then I will be an enemy to your enemies and an adversary to your adversaries. 23 For My Messenger will go before you and bring you in to the Amorites and the Hittites and the Perizzites and the Canaanites and the Hivites and the Jebusites; and I will cut them off. 24 You shall not bow down to their gods, nor serve them, nor do according to their works; but you shall utterly overthrow them and completely break down their sacred pillars.
25 “So you shall serve Jehovah your God, and HE will bless your bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you. There it is Mike! Jehovah refers to His Messenger by the same name saying, “serve Jehovah your God and HE will bless you.” Then He switches to the first person and says, “And I will take away your sickness.”
Note these well Mike:
1. Jehovah said that His Messenger has His name. (vs. 21)
2. The people shall not serve false gods but shall serve Jehovah's Messenger (vs.24-25).
3. Note the first and third persons “HE will bless you” and, “I will heal you.” Then note that Jehovah the first person called the third person, “Jehovah your God.”
This is just a foretaste of the brutal beating you will receive when we get to this subject. But we will go no where UNTIL you concede that Jesus is the firstborn of mankind ALONE.
Okay Roo, let me answer your 3 points:
1. Jehovah didn't actually say that, did He? He said, “My name is IN HIM”, not “his name is Jehovah”. We all (even you, Roo) know that Jehovah meant that the messenger is acting with Jehovah's power and authority.
2. Again, it doesn't actually say that, either. It says to “obey his voice”. Nothing about serving or worshipping him.
3. Ah, the first to third person wording. Where else might we find this?
Matthew 19:28 NIV
Jesus said to them, “I tell you the truth, at the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.Isn't this the same kind of wording? Have I stumbled across a new doctrine? Is Jesus NOT the Son of Man? The wording makes it sound like Jesus and the Son of Man are two different people. Just like in your scripture, Roo.
The cool thing is, by searching “son of man” in the NIV, there is not one actual scripture that confirms that Jesus is in fact the Son of Man. I could easily start a new doctrine and add another God, and no one could possibly disprove it from scripture. Don't believe me? Just try to prove from scripture that it is Jesus who is the Son of Man. And I'll play the part of the rebels who won't accept scripture the way it is written.
This is what you trinitarians and “binarians” do to those of us for whom “there is but one God, the Father”. You pick apart the wording, take scripture out of context here and there, change the true definitions of Hebrew and Greek words, and then say, “PROVE THAT EVERY MENTION OF GOD ALMIGHTY IS ACTUALLY JEHOVAH!”, or “PROVE THAT THE MESSENGER ISN'T REALLY “JEHOVAH THE SON”, or some other silly thing that just can't be proven by the individual words.
Anybody up for the challenge? Show by scripture that Jesus is the Son of Man.
peace and love,

JA,
I believe that Nick means that now Jesus is no longer flesh but spirit, the same as what He was before He was flesh. If I am wrong, maybe that will get him to give you a nice answer by correcting me.June 11, 2010 at 7:59 pm#195197NickHassanParticipantHi MB,
He is not the SON OF MAN in Ezekiel.
All men are sons of Adam[man]Jesus went to great lengths to show he was a man but men disagree.

Hi Kathi,You told me one time that you worship a “binity”. I extrapolated “binarian”. It was a funny (I thought) way of saying “trinitarians and Kathi”.
Sorry if I offended. Don't you have a comment on the substance of my post?

Hi Nick,Read the whole post. I'm making a joke. Besides, the challenge is for you to prove that Jesus IS the Son of Man in the NT.
ps Jesus is a heavenly spirit man now with a heavenly spirit body.

Mike,
I NEVER labeled what I worship as a binity…never.June 12, 2010 at 12:22 am#195266NickHassanParticipantHi LU,
Just because the Son has come into unity with His God in the Spirit does not make the son his own God any more than our unity with both will.[Jn17]
Otherwise your binity or trinity would be a multiplinity.June 12, 2010 at 12:26 am#195270JustAskinParticipantMike, Nick, Kathi,
You are all right… Just expressing the same things in different ways.
Mike, I saw the Joke. I was gonna respond but Nick nicked my quip.
LU, Mike is having a ball…wid ya' lightenup!
There is no such word as 'Trinitarian' just as there is no such word as 'binitarian' (Binarian?) so it is open house on it's definition and usage. Whoever first uses it first defines it.
Mike, good post against 'roo'. (Did you hear the joke about the Muslim, the Protestant and Catholic?)
He speaks brashly but when he is proved wrong, or the brash boast trips him up he doesn't even say 'oops!', he just keeps right on with another brash boast (Accusing the brother day and night…!)

Hi JA,Sometime (when I have the time) I'm going to do that. I'm going to start a post saying that the Son of Man is someone other than Jesus and challenge the trinitarians and KATHI to prove me wrong.
They can get a taste of what I go through for once.

IT means unity or in one. Not the number. its value is not even one. English and Hebrew are very different languages and are very complicated to compare. it can imply a unity in diversity. Several times in the bible, the contruction of the tabernacle were so they may be one echad. ezekial spoke of two sticks the fragmented israel to make one echad.
what you say doesnt make any sense.
