Quote (mikeboll64 @ Dec. 27 2010,05:56) Quote (Baker @ Dec. 27 2010,04:52) Mike What do you think is meant by his blood? he poured out his blood for us, does that not mean he died for us?
I can't believe some of the statements I read on this forum.
You want to grow in knowledge and understanding you have to let go of the milk bottle.
Hi Georg,Thanks for you response. But what is the purpose of your comments and scriptures? To insult me personally? Let's not sink to JA's level, please.
I am not disputing that Jesus died for us. But if there are many scriptures that CLEARLY state it was Jesus' BLOOD that he offered as a sacrifice, and NONE that say anything about him sacrificing his actual BODY, then it is only your conjecture to gleam that the BODY was the sacrifice, not scripture itself.
Add that fact to the scripture that also CLEARLY says that his body would NOT see decay, and the one where Jesus DIRECTLY says he is NOT a spirit, and what are you left with?
Georg, you have ignored my scriptures and points and instead went directly into suggesting I am still on milk – as if that changes the SCRIPTURES I listed in any way. I AM still on milk, and if you have any SCRIPTURES that say it was the BODY of Jesus that was the sacrifice, or any that say he was raised directly from the grave as a spirit, then lay them on me, and I will take one step closer to solid food. If however, you don't have scriptures to this effect, then please DIRECTLY address the points and scriptures I listed.
peace and love,
mike
MikeIt may have sounded like I was trying to insult you, but I was not; somewhat frustrated maybe.
OK, here is one scripture from Paul, talking about Jesus no longer being in the flesh.2Cr 5:16 Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we [him] no more.
Here is another one.
1Cr 15:45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul (flesh); the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.
“”quickening”” means, living; Jesus is a living spirit; NO FLESH.
Eph 5:2 And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.
What does, “”given himself”” mean?
Look at this scripture carefully.
Hbr 10:4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.
Was not the whole animal “sacrificed” as an atonement for sins?
Now look at these scriptures.Hbr 10:10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
Hbr 10:12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;
Was Jesus' body not beaten beyond recognition before he was nailed to the cross?
I say, he offered up his body, not just his blood; I say that since you seam to see a difference there.Georg
December 28, 2010 at 9:25 pm#230333shimmerParticipantMike, Irene and Terrarica,
I find it odd that people here debate for so long, on and on and on, and why ? What purpose is there to it ? Is it to drive people mad ? Do you ever fear that maybe you could shatter someones belief through debating ? This is all meaningless, what you do here. Especially when people get hurt. Who started this thread and why was it started ? Was it not an obsession over debate ? Where is God in all of this ? Where are peoples feelings and where is love? Love is deeper than what you think. Sad, so sad.

Terrestrial comes from the word (Terra) meaning Earth or dirt, land., I have been through this before with Irene and she just does not understand it and it appears Mike and Terreicca also do not. So in this you are right about them.
No Gene,He was NOT right, and neither are you about this. First, I showed him the definition of “celestial” from Dictionary.com that listed “invisible heavenly BEINGS” as one of the definitions. Then, Irene listed Miriam Webster's Dictionary that had the same listing. Then, I Googled it at his request, and posted 4 listings from the very first Google page that listed “angels” and “invisible heavenly BEINGS” in their definition.
THEN, I challenged him to find ONE source that did NOT list invisible beings in their definition of “celestial”, and instead of doing it, he just pretended that he couldn't see all that research that I took the time to post – and went back to posting the same things about Google all over again.
How do you argue against someone like that Gene? He says Google doesn't have it, I showed him it does, he ignores that and reposts that Google doesn't have it.
It's similar to arguing John 1:14 with you Gene. No matter what we say, you INSIST that the words “came to be IN” are in the text when they are NOT. You just can't logically argue against someone who won't accept the truth when it's shown to them.
mike
Mike………… 1 co 15:39-40………> All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one lind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of birds, 40……> Also celestial BODIES and bodies terrestrial : But the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another. 41……> (Now he explains what he means) There is one glory of the sun and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars, : for one star differs from star in glory. All the above is dealing with visible bodies, nothing there is implying (invisible) at all. Now lets go on following Paul words
1Co 15:42….> So also is the (RESURRECTION) of the DEAD , (IT) (the body) is sown in (CORRUPTION); (IT) (the body) is raised in (INCORRUPTION) : (does any one see invisible here) going on 43….> (IT) (the body) is sown in dishonor, (IT) (the body) is raised in power: (IT) (the body) is sown a natural body; (IT) (the body) is raised a SPIRITUAL (BODY). Notice it does not say SPIRIT BODY but “SPIRITUAL BODY'> There is a Natural Body and there is a SPIRITUAL BODY, Notice again it does not say SPIRIT BODY, because no such thing exists as a SPIRIT BODY>
Notice all the other scripture Paul wrote he used the word (SPIRITUAL) not the WORD SPIRIT. Spiritual means of the Spirit not the Spirit it self, as If i say He was Godly , does that mean he was GOD, no of course not, If i say he was a Spiritual Man does that mean he was a Spirit man no of course not.. IMO
peace and love…………………………..gene
What you are talking about is the word Celestial in the sense of something (invisible), But when you look up your definition of just (celestial), is simply means heaven or sky but Paul said Celestial (BODIES) and then went on to name then as differing in Glory one from another, the sun , moon, and stars. As i said before even the word Celestia from Latin roots means (Sky) or Heavens. It has nothing to do with (INVISIBLE Beings) but that would not exclude bodies out in the Celestia (Sky or heavens) that we can't see also (without a telescope> The heavenly bodies are the sun moon and stars, and these are celestial bodies. Lets stay with what Paul was talking about (CELESTIAL BODIES) SUN, MOON, AND STARS.
Yeah Gene, that's what it say's.It's like begotten…When was Jesus begotten ? Scripture say's clearly when it was. How many posts of debate did it take to establish when ? And when… was it decided ?
Gosh, is all I can say.
It's like 2nd Peter 3… how many say the day of the Lord has come already? How can people not understand the simple English that Peter uses ? Again, I just don't get it.
Just like Jesus being risen with flesh and bone, not only do people here disagree with what the Lord Himself said… but now they are saying things that are just plain stupid.
Jay was the only reason I read here, as if I would read anything else here, theres no point anymore.
Mike Irene and Terrarica… sad.
Gene, you have a good spirit.
December 28, 2010 at 11:29 pm#230345GeneBalthropParticipantTo All…………One thing i have noticed Here over the years people tend to say what Scripture does not (SPECIFICALLY) SAY. They add to what is written and hunt for words that sometimes are there, but translated into 40 or in some cases 70 different ways in the text and then try to use those words as a proof text to support their own dogmas , this is especially true with Trinitarians and preexistences. They force the text to try to draw a preconceived conclusion or just add the words to them like in the case of John1:1, Even if it flies right in the face of other plain scriptures that would contradict what they are saying. People we need to dump all the garbage and start clean and fresh.
We need to come to understand who translated those scriptures and their biases they used . Like the king James a bible that is Half Catholic and Half Tyndale . I have a suggestion to all try getting an original TYNDALE BIBLE they are available on the Internet. I don't now have one but i am planning to get one , they have just aired a one hour program about Tyndale here and all the pains he went through to give the average person a true translated bible even at the cost of his own life by being burned at the stake. King James trying to satisfy both the Catholics and the Protestants had his original bible alter to fit those false teachings of the Catholics, forcing them on the Protestants also. The king James is considered a half TYNDALE and half CATHOLIC BIBLE. That could account for much of the confusions here. IMO

1) Look deeper into the Scriptures.
2) Reexamine and align our own beliefs to “the Word”!

Well not everyone agrees with those two or three people. I could say a lot more but I won't. Not yet.

Hi Gene,Why would you want to read that anyway,
it is nothing but a 'translation of a translation',
TYNDALE translated the “Latin Vulgate” into brobken English.I have a printed copy from off of the Internet.
It is real hard reading, he does not have a good grasp of the English language. The AKJV was translated (word for word) from the original texts.
You should instead look for greater clarity into the original texts, when looking past the AKJV Bible!God bless

Shimmer! This Forum is to debate Scriptures in. If you are not here to do so, then it is your option to leave. Sometimes you have to repeat yourself in order to bring your point across….Some will only read part of a particular post and pick and choose what they can handle. That is why I at times repeat my posts. If you are here for getting love from others you are in the wrong place…..
You find more love in the Supermarket then here….This Forum is not for the weak….And God is in those Scriptures we are debating, some just can't see it and that to me is sad, not that we debate.,.,..If I shatter someones believe, then that believe was not there in the first place IMO Worship is done in SPIRIT AND IN TRUTH. Rev 19:14 And the armies [which were] in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.

Rev 19:16 And he hath on [his] vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.
Tell me Ed. is there any being that fits this description? I don't think so. Here too John called The word of God (Jesus) the KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS. That is Jesus and so is John 1:1-14
If you can't see the comparison here you sure are blinded by something…..The Holy Spirit of God is not a person….and did not become flesh…..It was Jesus and will be Jesus coming again…..
Also since the Holy Spirit of God is like the wind, it needs a body to contain in…..Just like we get God's Holy Spirit at Baptism Jesus has God's Holy Spirit in Him full strength…

Hi Irene,That;s funny I don't find Jesus name mentioned (AT ALL) in those verses?
Are sure you are NOT twisting Scriptures to make them fit your own doctrine?
Ed! TakeRev 19:13 And he [was] clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
Rev 19:14 And the armies [which were] in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
Rev 19:15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
Rev 19:16 And he hath on [his] vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

Hi Irene,Compare Rev.19:11-21 with Isaiah 63:3-10.and you will see that
Isaiah 63:3 and 10 identify “The Word” in Rev.19:13 as the “HolySpirit”!“the sharp sword” is “The Word”!
And the “HolySpirit” is HE and I !What do you suppose “the sharp sword” is in Rev.19:15?
Rev.19:15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it
he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron:
and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.Isaiah 63:3 I have trodden the winepress alone; and of the people there was none with me:
for I will tread them in mine anger, and trample them in my fury; and their blood
shall be sprinkled upon my garments, and I will stain all my raiment. But they rebelled, and vexed
his HolySpirit: therefore he
was turned to be their enemy,
and he fought against them. (Isaiah 63:10)God bless

King Jame had it translated to appease both the Catholics and the Protestants in England, that is why there is so much confusion in it. I have Just recently seen a complete documentary on Tyndale and His translation of Scriptures is excellent and He was a Greek and Hebrew Scholar and understood those languages perfectly. His translation is what was used to translated Half the king James bibles as well as the Catholic's Vulgate Bible Our king James is a fifty percent Catholic Latin Vulgate and fifty percent TYNDALE. Bible. Where ever you got you information is wrong brother. I have read just some of it and it is very accurate and clarifies some false translations of the King James Catholic influenced Bible. At the time of the writing of the King James there were no bibles except Tyndale's Bible in the Hand of the People, the Catholic Church forbid anyone to have Bibles except the Church and would Kill anyone who had one, You need to go back and research you history on Tyndale IMO peace and love………………………………gene

I AGREE WITH YOU ON THAT and in those years they were still burning people on a stake.Pierre

Sad, so sad.
shimmeryou fail to understand what is this forum ,you came on this forum to find what ??
did you find it ? if not why?? did you look for something that can be found on a forum ??
wen you came on this forum ,what did you do ? you looked for someone with your own views right,?? yes,
but you quickly find out it was not so ,we human make usually one big mistake,
we looking for those who have the same weakness than ourself, this does not help us it just keep us weak if it does not break us,
so if you look for something stronger and that you can reason with and grow, this would be of help, and less disappointmentexp;play chess with a weak player does nothing but keep you weak player, you never become better than opponent is,
of cause our master is Christ but he would be like master chess player, you have to learn much before you can sit in front of him,
but you have to learn from others ,and learn how you can benefit from them,so that you can move ahead continuously.
but we cannot leave the scriptures to be undone,
I hope this would help ?Pierre
Pierre! I think most people that come here, want to give only their understanding of the Scriptures and do not see another persons proof of them. It akways makes me wonder when they read those Scriptures and see something in them that is not there….. When you take John 1:1 for instance some don't see Jesus in that. Even when you give them Re, 19:13-16 to prove that it is Jesus John is talking about…..Some will even twist Scriptures to make them fit their own doctrine…..That I find wrong to do…..
Peace to you Irene
