Nick,
I am speaking of your opinions and you are attempting to change the topic.
It is your opinion that logic is evil when those that disagree with you use it. That is the flesh nature talking through you.
It is your opinion that flesh and blood is literal in 1 Corinthians 15 even though you know Jesus was resurrected in a flesh and bone body and that there is no evidence he changed to another body afterwards.
It is your opinion that the Garden of Eden was not in the kingdom of God even though Scripture does not say that and describes it as a place and time without death or corruption.
It is your opinion that Jesus was mortal even after his resurrection and only became immortal and a time not mentioned in Scripture.
August 30, 2014 at 5:21 pm#742053NickHassanParticipantHi KW,
Is scripture untrue because you cannot swallow it unless it passes the test of your logic?
August 30, 2014 at 6:03 pm#742117kerwinParticipantNick,
If your interpretation of Scripture is broken then it is false for Scripture cannot be broken. Jesus testifies to that fact when he opposes the Sadducees.
August 30, 2014 at 7:15 pm#742179NickHassanParticipantHi KW,
Breaking scripture is not according to the weak wisdom of men.
Believe what is written
August 31, 2014 at 8:35 am#742883kerwinParticipantNick,
{I am shaking my head}
The weak wisdom of men is wisdom that is based on the desires of the flesh nature of men and not reasoning.
Jesus used reasoning to challenge the Sadducees but he did not use the wisdom of men because his reasoning was based on the desires of the Spirit nature and not on the desires of the flesh nature.
Reason like math is a tool that can be used for righteousness or for wickedness.
We are taught to test the spirit of what we hear and adhere to and God gave reason to do that. We can misuse his gift and come up with lies or we can use it correctly and come up with the truth.
Jesus and his students used reason and they clearly expected their hearers to understand it and hopefully come to believe the truth after hearing it.
You know these things as you have discussed them and read them but you have been taught a powerful untruth and it holds on to you yet. It holds on to you so tight that you do not realize you use reasoning to come to your own conclusions, conclusions that are not in agreement with the ideas expressed by Scripture.
August 31, 2014 at 9:14 am#742920NickHassanParticipantHi KW,
The Spirit tests the spirits, not the weak minds of men.
August 31, 2014 at 9:21 am#742941kerwinParticipantNick,
Did God give men the ability to reason?
August 31, 2014 at 9:27 am#742947NickHassanParticipantHi KW,
Do you not need the mind of Christ?
August 31, 2014 at 9:57 am#742950kerwinParticipantNick,
Jesus reasoned. To be perfect as God is perfect you must reason as Jesus reasoned.
August 31, 2014 at 10:09 am#742953NickHassanParticipantHiKW,
Be transformed by renewal of your mind
Logic is not a sound foundation
August 31, 2014 at 11:07 am#742956kerwinParticipantNick,
Logic is not a sound foundation
And yet it is written that “Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures”, Acts 17:2(AV). Why do you accuse Paul of not having a sound foundation?
August 31, 2014 at 4:36 pm#743397NickHassanParticipantHi KW,
God uses all possiblities in trying to draw men to truth
To the greeks he uses reason.
That does not make reason the ultimate way to truth
August 31, 2014 at 5:44 pm#743495kerwinParticipantNick,
Reason is only a tool. It is not a way. It can be used to understand the truth and to teach it to others. That is why Paul and Jesus to spread the truth.
August 31, 2014 at 6:16 pm#743574NickHassanParticipantHi KW,
No the scriptures are written by the Spirit and the Spirit is the key to grasping them.
Logic is just another vanity that gets in the way
August 31, 2014 at 8:44 pm#743860kerwinParticipantNick,
There you go condemning Paul and others in Scripture that use reason again. Reasoning and the Spirit are not mutually exclusive.
August 31, 2014 at 8:55 pm#743879NickHassanParticipantHi KW,
Human reasoning is a weak tool used only in preaching to the unspiritual.
But old things are little use in the kingdom of truth
September 1, 2014 at 2:34 am#744245GeneBalthropParticipantKerwin and Nick……..God said Isa 1:18 “Come now and let us reason together: though your sins be as scarlet they shall be as white as snow; though they be red as crimson they shall be as wool.” The book of Maliciah shows God reasoning with the people of Israel also.
It seems to me God does see our ability to reason things out even with him, Nick, but I also see you point Nick there is reasoning that people use that is definitely wrong also, as seen here many times.
Peace and love to you both and yours………………..gene
September 1, 2014 at 3:55 am#744455carmelParticipantAdam and Eve were made flesh and bone in God’s kingdom and God said they were a very good creation. He did not lie.
Kerwin,
The flesh and bone in which Adam and Eve were created were a reference to an immortal FLESH AND SPIRIT BODY
THE BONE IS TO SIGNIFY A SPIRIT ELEMENT, SINCE IT IS A COMMON SENSE THAT A FLESH BODY MUST HAVE A BONE STRUCTURE!
TO CLARIFY:
A PERSON IN FLESH AND BLOOD HAS BONES AS WELL ALTHOUGH IT IS NOT MENTIONED!
Regarding Jesus resurrection he RESURRECTED IN A SPIRITUAL FLESH BODY LIKE THAT OF ADAM, SINCE ADAM LOST HIS!
THEREFORE A PERFECT MAN BUT NOT YET DIVINE!
BUT FEW HOURS LATER HE INTEGRATED WITH HIS SOUL, THE FORMER HOLY SPIRIT WHICH CONCEIVED MARY, AND BUILT JESUS’ FLESH BODY!
SO BOTH THE HOLY SPIRIT, JESUS’SOUL, AND THE RESURRECTED SPIRITUAL FLESH BODY OF JESUS BECAME ONE DIVINE BEING
GOD MAN,
THE ONLY TRUE GOD AND JESUS CHRIST!
HE MANIFESTED THIS WHEN HE WENT THROUGH STONE WALLS AND DECLARED THAT HE WAS MADE OF FLESH AND BONE SO AGAIN THE WORD BONE IS ONLY THERE TO SIGNIFY THAT HE WAS MADE OF FLESH AND SPIRIT JESUS COULD HAVE SAID FLESH AND BLOOD,AND STILL COULD HAVE MADE US AWARE THAT HE HAD ALSO BONES, BUT THE FACT THAT HE SAID FLESH AND BONE HE WAS DEFINITELY WITHOUT BLOOD! AND MADE US AWARE THAT HE HAD IN THE TRUTH:
ASCENDED IN THE GLORY OF THE FATHER!
SPIRIT and FLESH MALE and FEMALE, SPIRIT and MATTER, INVISIBLE and VISIBLE, HEAVENLY and EARTHLY, LIGHT and DARKNESS, IMMORTAL and MORTAL, GOOD and EVIL ?. FIRST and LAST, BEGINNING and END, ALPHA and OMEGA!
THE ONLY FATHER OF ALL!
Peace and love in Jesus
Charles

Yes God reasoned with Israel.
They were of the world and not the Spirit.

Hi KW,

Paul uses reasoning to teach. An example of this is when he uses Jesus’ resurrection to prove there is a resurrection.
