DENOMINATIONS ARE A DIVISIONDENOMINATIONS TALK BAD OF ANOTHER
True.
Here's an early example:
“you hate the deeds of the sect of Nic·o·láus, which I also hate.” (Rev 2:6, Jesus)
Should the apostles have just joined up with the sect of Nicolaus? Or any or all of the other sects that were forming?
August 24, 2009 at 11:01 am#142026CatoParticipantDenominations are indicative of the lack of clarity in scripture. If the Bible was truly God's word and not that of men trying to guess same, then I would imagine that the truth therein would be more evident and we would have less division in interpretation.

Yes, and the more ambiguous and incomplete the source material discussed or debated, the more varied and diffuse the resultant views obtained from same will be. Hi CatoI think the scritpures is a roadmap and is not incomplete or lacking!
This is why we have so many differences…
And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: “but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables“:
The writen scriptures are nothing but the dead letter of the word, and until the Spirit of God reveals the truths therein then you will only have chaos and confusion by carnal men with carnal minds trying to interpret them!
The end will declare who is of the truth. IMO.

August 24, 2009 at 6:46 pm#142071NickHassanParticipantHi JN,
Do you need a denominational label or is becoming a member of the body of Christ, entering the kingdom of God, not much more important?
Christ is not divided but the churches of men are.August 24, 2009 at 7:29 pm#142079StuParticipantQuote (Nick Hassan @ Aug. 25 2009,06:46) Christ is not divided but the churches of men are.
That's the best one yet!The 'church' here is divided.
What use is Jesus if the churches are so divided (spectacularly so, as it happens)?
