I thought it pertinent to create a discussion about powerful delusions.
I will make a list and feel free to add to it or edit it.
Evolution
Alienology
Trinity
UnitarianismPlease correct me if I have used the wrong titles.
I am not sure what the title is for those who believe humans are a genetically modified species made by aliens. And I am not sure what the title is for those who deny that Jesus existed in any other form but a man.Perhaps we come up with a list of the top most powerful delusions to keep us away from the truth found in scripture.
Here is how I see this system of deceptions work.
- Give a person Evolution and deny them God.
- If they are smart enough to realise that we are created, then give them the idea that the creator is an alien species who genetically modified us.
- If they don't fall for any of the above two and believe in a creator outside of creation, then give them the Trinity or another God.
- If they know that the Trinity or other Gods are wrong, then make them deny the son by giving them a doctrine that says Jesus started life as a created a man 2000 years ago and did not exist with God in the beginning in any form and certainly was not that which God created all things through.
I find in these forums that we debate with people who are under one or more of these influences.
And we tend to spend a reasonable amount of time exposing the lies of these.Can anyone add to the steps above that attempt to keep men away from God?

1) Deny God – Evolution is a major tool.
2) False gods – Started 6,000 years ago with self (“be like God”), alien is one of the newer ones.
3) Distort God – Loss of a balanced scriptural view, drive teachings to an extreme.One point we should keep in mind, most of those in these groups are victims

Many here have shown over the years what you preach is a Delusion on this subject of “Preexistence” but you assume them of preaching Delusions and not your. Now that is indeed interesting to say the least. Its like beholding the splinter in you brothers eye and not seeing the Beam in you own eye. Are we now to believe what ever does not agree with your religious concepts is a “DELUSION” on this site, Because YOU say so? That changes the whole attitude of the Heaven Net Site, where i alway believed there was a freedom of expression of one thoughts. Now are we to believe anytime we disagree with you were are under a “DELUSION” of some kind? What makes you so sure you are not the one DELUDED? IMO

I'd say the one who is backed up by UNADULTERATED scriptures is the one who is not delusional. For example, the one who reads John 17:5 and thinks, Hmmmm……. The person Jesus said he had glory alongside his God before the world began, so I guess he did, is NOT delusional, but understanding the scriptures as they are written.On the other hand, the one who reads 17:5 and immediately starts scurrying around to find bizarre, alternate meanings for those words of Jesus (like: it means the thought of Jesus in God's head had glory before the world began), in an effort to FORCE those words into their own pre-conceived notions, is the delusional one.

Jehovah is the God of gods and Lord of lords in the OT but Jehovah is only the God of gods in the NT. The Lord of lords ends up somewhere on His own between Jehovah and the angels.In the OT, people would say, “the Lord be with you” and that referred to the highest power in existence. In the NT, people would say, “the Lord be with you,” and many people here think that refers to an angel or a mere man.
In the OT, the Lord said He would be with them always and He received worship. In the NT, the Lord said that He would be with them always but for some idiotic reason will not be worshiped.
Go figure?

Jesus is the Lord of lords…this is also true and Jesus was Lord even when born in the flesh.
You're right Kathi, I believe t8 overlooked your particular delusion that our ONE Most High God actually consists of TWO Most High Gods working together as a unity.
Yet for US, there is but ONE Most High God, the Father, and one Lord, God's servant Jesus Christ, who was appointed as Lord over us by our God and his God. He is the head of man, as his God is the head of him.
You too can be part of that “US” if you are willing to put your personal wishes aside and let the words of the scriptures teach you.

Whether or not the Lord of lords serves the God of gods…Jehovah is still BOTH God of gods and Lord of lords. Do you suppose Abraham, Moses, and the others knew they were worshipping TWO Most High Gods when they worshipped Jehovah and called Him “ONE”? How about when Jesus worshipped Jehovah during his time on earth? Was he worshipping TWO Gods at that time?
