Job said a spirt “passed” before his face and you said it does have power but then you say it cannot eneter or effect a person, then what about this?1 Kings 22:21-23 (21st Century King James Version)
21 And there came forth a spirit, and stood before the LORD and said, `I will persuade him.'
22 And the LORD said unto him, `Wherewith?' And he said, `Iwill go forth, and I will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets.' And He said, `Thou shalt persuade him, and prevail also. Go forth, and do so.'
Here it says clearly that a spirit will go from the presense of the Lord and and be in the mouth of a prophet persuading him to lie.
2 Chronicles 18:20-22 (21st Century King James Version)
20Then there came out a spirit, and stood before the LORD and said, `I will entice him.' And the LORD said unto him, `How?'
21And he said, `I will go out, and be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets.' And the LORD said, `Thou shalt entice him, and thou shalt also prevail. Go out, and do even so.'
22Now therefore, behold, the LORD hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of these thy prophets, and the LORD hath spoken evil against thee.”
This is a clear example of a being entering and manipulating the mind of a person and it must be a being because it says “I”
DB………..I never said a Spirit can not enter a Person, Don't know how you get that out of what i wrote maybe i did not explain myself clearly enough. But as Nick has said this is topical, What ever that means i guess we can't discuss it here becasue it is somewhere els being discussed . Am i right Nick?

Nick……….I have no idea who know? Scripture does not say that. Only a bunch of superstitions Pharisees said it. Jesus sure did not say that. Nick we have to cone to see the bible s full of symbolism and Metaphors and Personification, and Proverbs, and Parables we must unravel them and put them in proper context . Remember “the sum of God's word is truth”> Thing must fit in order to be understood properly. We are all learning as we Go, hopefully with God's guiding help brother.

Scripture says so but you seem to disagree.Nick……….I do not disagree with that, it is Just the language of How he (EXISTS), all those thing you posted are Metaphors of a SPIRIT not a PERSON or BEING. that is the only difference i see we have. Listen Jesus said to Peter “get behind me SATAN, does that mean PETER is SATAN then can we draw that conclusion from Jesus words, Can we also say the Pharisees were truly Childern of Their FATHER the DEVIL? can't you see these are all Metaphors Jesus used to describe their “State of Mind” brought on by the Spirits working (IN) them Brother?
Nick think about this and put it (ALL) together and you will see what i am saying fits (ALL) scripture concerning Spirits. Jesus was not fighting a PERSON or BEING in the Wilderness Jesus was fighting His own demons or subtle carnal Nature and bring it under control to the Word of God. Jesus did what God told Can
Sin lies at the DOOR (of our hearts) and we MUST ALL MASTER IT Jesus Did and we must also just as He did MASTER IT. IMO

Nick………So why did he call PETER a SATAN the and then tell him He (PETER) did not percieve the things of GOD. That was PETER Jesus was talking to not some elusive demon or Satan Being of any Kind , but a Wrong SPIRIT at work (IN) Peter In fact it was the Spirit of INIQUITY at work in HIM why becasue PETER thought He WAS really dong GOOD by saying that to Jesus, he though he was Protecting Jesus from Harm.
Nick go back and reread it in context of the whole thing and let me know if you still believe it was a SATAN (IN) Peter Jesus was talking to of was it a “SPIRIT” (INTELLECT) PETER HAD.

Nck……….Jesus addressed it to PETER not some unseen elusive SATAN Being that you “suppose” was there. Satan is not a Being SATAN is the SPIRIT (intellect) of and ADVERSARY. Peter was committing an “INIQUITY” (a sin that seems good) He did not comprehend the things of GOD at that time and thought he was dong good even though he was not, that of what a (INIQUITY) is, it is a “TYPE” of SIN.
Nick Jesus was talking to PETER Not some unsee “BEING” brother. WE all at time have been SATAN'S either through ignorance as in the case of Peter or ignorantly doing evil , we can not cop out and blame it on some unseen Satan “Being” going around controlling people at his will, that is a false teaching brother. We are all born with a “SUBTLE Nature” we must MASTER IT as JESUS DID HIS. VERY few are transparent and OPEN and truthful. But we know nothing that is done in secret shall not be shown openly and shouted upon the house top in time to come. IMO

Nick……….the person PETER had the DEMON by reason of the Spirit working (IN) his MIND. That is not saying there was someone else there with Peter , but Peter HIMSELF was doing what HE DID> He was being a SATAN, an (adversary) . It is SPIRITS that enlightens our MINDS and what ever Spirit is operation (IN) a Person (IT) is PART of that PERSON.Spirits themselves are NOT PERSONS they are attributes of a Persons life and can be removed or added to. We are changed BY GOD'S SPIRIT being ADDED to our MINDS and hence our LIVES, Spirit are what LIFE (IS)> rather of GOD or the World or good , evil, clean, unclean, Spirit is Spirit, and is in OUR MINDS causing us to live our lives according to the “COGNATE” Thoughts they produce (IN) our minds. Even the Spirit of GOD work this way.
Peter was indeed a SATAN (adversary) of Jesus at that time, he was doing what he believed was right even though it was wrong becasue he did not percieve the things of God at that particular time. Jesus was not speaking past him to some elusive SATAN “Being” . That is a false assumption on your and others. IMO
