Mark 7:13

Iguazu Falls Argentina

Thus you nullify the word of God by your tradition that you have handed down. And you do many things like that.” – Mark 7:13.

Jesus told us that men can render God’s power as useless because of our traditions. Religions and Christianity included are riddled with traditions that have been passed down to us. In fact traditions are often what defines religions. But Jesus wants us to not be followers of religion but to be followers of himself because it is he who will lead us to the Father. Jesus also said in John 14:6:

“I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

Our brother Paul taught us in Romans 8:13-14 to be led by the Spirit of God and not follow the flesh or our own carnal nature.

for if you are living according to the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you are putting to death the deeds of the body, you will live. 14For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.

Our brother John taught us in 1 John 2:15-16 to not be of the world that we live in.

Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world.

Rather we should be part of the Kingdom of God. Paul taught us this in Romans 14:17.

For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit,

    Hi t,

So you do accept the fifteen or more examples in Acts of water baptism in the name of Jesus as important for salvation?

    Hi T8,

To teach that the holy Spirit spoke through Jesus Christ is to be labelled a false teacher and worse?

How far has your faith drifted from revelation.

    ==================================================================

the holy spirit of truth was in Jesus the Christ for it says ;Jn 1:17 For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

it also says this ;Jn 1:18 No one has ever seen God, but God the One and Only, who is at the Father’s side, has made him known.

do you believe that Jesus was at the side of God his father ?

Ac 15:19 “It is my judgment, therefore, that we should not make it difficult for the Gentiles who are turning to God.
Ac 15:20 Instead we should write to them, telling them to abstain from food polluted by idols, from sexual immorality, from the meat of strangled animals and from blood.

it does not say that the gentiles have to be water baptized ;if it was that important I am sure they would have included in the letter ,

I agree for Jews it is most important

Tradition says that Jesus was not like us.

He became like us in all things except sin.

Did you become like us too?

    @t8,

Did you consider the question you asked Nick?

If you examine your words then you will see that you are thinking within a self-made box.

I am like us but I have not always been like us because I have not existed forever. It therefore follows that at one time I was made in the likeness of a human being and so became like us.

    Hi t8,

I presume you refer to Heb 4.15

Which version says that he BECAME LIKE US?

T8……scripture say Jesus was made a little lower then the angels, it also says he made mankind a little lower then the angels also, and JESUS was made this way for the tasting of death, just as we also taste death. scripture shows JESUS WAS BORN AN ORDINARY HUMAN BEING AND EXPERIENCED THE SAME THINGS WE DO. THE QUESTION HERE SHOULD BE, WHY ARE YOU SO INTENT TO MAKE HIM APPEAR SO DIFFERENT THEN WE ARE?

DOYOU DENY WHAT GOD THE FATHER IN HIS HUMAN CREATION, TO TAKE AN ORDINARY HUMANBEING AND PERFECT HIM AND RAISE HIM FROM THE GRAVE AND GIVE THIS ORDINARY HUMAN BEING ETERNAL LIFE?

peace and love to you and yours. ……..gene

Did you consider the question you asked Nick?

Yes. The ordinary Jesus Brigade believes that Jesus is an ordinary man.

The truth is he was ordinary only in appearance. Look deeper for the truth. The truth is deeper than skin deep.

Which version says that he BECAME LIKE US?

He came in the flesh Nick which is what kind of body we have. So he became like us. Now he is glorified and we can be like him with a body like his.

He existed in the form of God, emptied himself, came in the flesh, died for our sins, rose from the dead, and is seated at the right hand of God in the glory he had with him before the cosmos.

    Amen.

An ordinary human being is a sinful being.

In actual fact he came as the second Adam. Once the first Adam had no sin, but Jesus came not as that Adam.

    Hi t8,

So he does the teaching of James about sin in his first chapter fit with your broad brush approach?

Does James agree that all men are born sinners?

Do not have the time to check out what you are saying or insinuating here.

But the short answer is all in Adam die for a reason. We are born of Adam, but require the new birth under the last Adam. Further, we are taught why men die. It is because of sin.

Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and sin when it is fully grown brings forth death.

You may have read this in the Bible.
