Cato,I believe there is a difference between doubting and questioning. I do believe we should question our beliefs and why we believe them, but we have to have something to measure them against. If as you say scripture is not trust worthy then we are left to our own devices. However I believe there is absolute truth, and there is a God, and He has…[Read more]

Quote (david @ Jan. 27 2008,01:29)God has certainly set blood apart for a special use. What is the designated use of blood in the Bible?“For the soul of the flesh is in the blood, and I myself have put it upon the altar for you to make atonement for your souls, because it is the blood that makes atonement by the soul in it.” (Le 17:11) “The…[Read more]

T8,I agree, personally I believe that we will inhabit this corporeal existence, free to expand through out the endless universe and encountering the challenges of doing so (not sitting around strumming on harps or being idle). We will be eternally amazed at it's wonders and variety, and this will be one more reason for praise to well up to our…[Read more]

seeking the truth,Like the name… I agree with your post. It has taken years, but I now have peace (most the time anyways) despite much turmoil in my life, knowing that whatever happens is for my ultimate good. Contentment and peace truly are great processions which I believe to be part of the “all these things will be added” referred to after…[Read more]

Quote (Not3in1 @ Jan. 28 2008,10:11)You say, “….not that I believe that every little thing in the Bible is “God's word” but the whole of scripture is our safeguard.”Fair enough. What “little thing in the Bible” may not be God's word then? It's the funny thing about truth, we have to be willing to accept that what we've believed up to that point may be wrong in order to accept new truths. This very attitude opens us up to straying but if your seeking truth the Spirit will guide us back to the right path.Wm

With the Spirit, our life is in constant growth and seeking God's will keeps us from being anything but rusty. I'm very concerned for those who have foresaken the scriptures and create new doctrine without the guidance of the truths provided there within. Arriving at truth is hard enough using God's word as our source and and with the Holy Spirit…[Read more]

You can be angry and sin not. I believe that where some run afoul is they feel the need to win the argument (as if people can swayed by intellectual arguments), but I feel that only the Spirit can truly move someone from error to truth. It used to bother me that Paul would enter a town and as soon as he encountered opposition he left. But I now…[Read more]

Blood is the symbol of life and death, it was spilled on the altar as the substituted death for sins, this fore-shadowed the blood that would take away our sins. To take this symbol and treat it as common by consuming it as food shows a total disregard for things of God. With that said, to accept a transfusion in order to save a life, is right in…[Read more]

Quote So in the end, either we are fairly convinced of what we believe or we wander. Or there is another option IMO: we continue to grow and don't sweat our differences. Differences will occur because we are human and not God.I agree for the most part but, there is a level of disagreement where I can no longer remain in fellowship (actually more a…[Read more]

Well said 942767,Truth is a fact that has been verified. However “truth” is not always easy to understand. A good example is if I say “I am lying” is this statement true??? Or, “snow is white” … the truth is we perceive it as white, but up close it no longer appears white. Most items pertaining to our corporeal existence are subject to debate…[Read more]
