wakeup,That verse states that He is the same (as in unchanging character) not that He knows the details of the future. What I'm looking for is scripture like Genesis 22:12 “Now I know that you fear God, because you have not withheld from me your son, your only son” which to me says God did not know ahead of time how Abraham would react. I know…[Read more]

Mike,Only one out of fifeteen versions interpreted it that way. Job 19:25 I know that my redeemer lives and that in the end he will stand on the earth. And after my skin has been destroyed yet in my flesh I will see God I myself will see him with my own eyes I, and not another. How could he see God with his own eyes since eyes are basically flesh.…[Read more]

To All,Most do not accept that they might have at some point been a “false teacher”, but most (if not all) have not had the same belief for their entire life (learning as they mature). Earlier in my life, I believed and told others of an eternal hell, which I no longer believe in, so I either was, or am, a “false teacher”. The point I'm trying to…[Read more]

To All,Another point on arguements, I believe that not only should we not argue endlessly, but we should be careful of what we say, and how we say it, so as to not cause unnecessary offence. Proverbs 18:19 An insulted brother is harder to win back than a city with strong walls. Arguments separate people like the strong bars of a palace gate.

wakeup,I posted the same observation sometime ago, that if the Holy Spirit wasn't anything more than just the Father's Spirit, then you would have Jesus telling His Father what to do. The Holy Spirit is God’s Spirit, but somehow the nature of the spiritual reality has “it” existing separately, possibly similar to Jesus being an image of the Fathe…[Read more]

Quote (ftk @ Jan. 04 2012,18:42)I have a question for anyone and everyone!  This thread is….Who will Christ and his Saints be ruling over?  My question desiring input is how will “love” rule anything? Love seeketh not its own way! Love is God according to Jesus (not according to the old testament)! The greatest confusion in Bible study IMO, i…[Read more]

Wakeup,No I don't know the verse God is yesterday today and tomorrow? I know the one Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Is that the one your thinking of or is there another one? Thanks – Wm

wakeup,No, I was saying that the Father never would “stoop” to explaining Himself (as that would reduce His stature) He didn't do it, He gave examples for us to see His love and justice. Thanks – Wm

Wakeup,I believe we agree for the most part, except for the one major exception. But our disagreement has no eternal consequences for either of us (in my opinion) so why don't we agree to disagree on this point. Thank you for taking the time to correspond with me.Wm

WIT,As I said there are no end of arguments on the details of that scripture, far more than the three you listed. Let me ask to all on this site, that consider themselves a Christian, do you agree with this scripture, not with someone else's interpretation, but with the scripture itself. Thanks – Wm

Only God defines who is a Christian. What I was pointing out is you have to define what is meant by Christian to answer WIT's question, I made it clear I was giving my opinion. Scripture tells us “disciples were first called Christians in Antioch” Since the Bible is the earliest record of the word Christian and I think most would agree it is the…[Read more]

Mike,Glad you had a good time, now you can go back to work and rest up. :D No I don't believe that spirit beings in heaven have flesh bodies, but I do not believe that Jesus was a created being either. However I do believe when angels come to earth they manifest one (somehow). The reason I believe that Jesus was flesh after His Resurrection besides…[Read more]

WhatIsTrue,First you have to define “all Christians”. To me people who when asked if they're a Christian answer with “I guess”, are not. Christians by my definition are active followers of Christ, you cannot follow Christ if you don't know anything about Him.For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth…[Read more]

Mike,Still enjoying sunny California, hope your having (had) a good time.Jesus said He was Flesh and Bones, was this a temporary body? Had Jesus wanted to speak of a second Resurrection or upcoming change to His body could He not easily of told us. Devolution,I agree the Kingdom of God has not been fully realized yet. I believe that the Kingdom of God is best defined as where the will of God is accomplished. The Kingdom has still been at hand for nearly 2000 year, currently manifesting only in a small way in the midst of those having the Holy Spirit. The fulfillment of this promise will not…[Read more]

Thank you for the verses wakeup. The one verse states: “What I have said, that I will bring about” to me this indicates that God was stating “I have the wherewith-all to bring what I say to past”.  At least to me it does not indicate that God knew what was going to happen, beyond what infinite wisdom and understanding would tell him.I used to…[Read more]
