Quote (Stu @ July 21 2012,05:18)Quote (seekingtruth @ July 20 2012,21:21)You judge from human standards giving no thought to the impact that disobedience of the law brings to society. You believe that God hates those who are killed, but I believe it can best be understood as a cancer, infection, or injury where one has to choose between removal…[Read more]

This claim of “victory” reminds me of my wife's apology when I'm upset over something she did and I've won the argument, she'll look at me as if she's going to apologize and say “I'm sorry you're upset”.

There was a middle aged guy who bought a brand new Mercedes convertible SLK. He took off down the road, flooring it up to 80 mph and enjoying the wind blowing through what little hair he had left on his head. 'This is great,' he thought and floored it some more.He looked in his rearview mirror and there was a Florida Highway Patrol Trooper behind…[Read more]

George Phillips, an elderly man, from Walled Lake, Michigan, was going up to bed, when his wife told him that he'd left the light on in the garden shed, which she could see from the bedroom window. George opened the back door to go turn off the light, but saw that there were people in the shed stealing things. He phoned the police, who asked “Is…[Read more]

Quote (t8 @ July 10 2012,06:10)That is true. Although if you have the truth it should have that conviction. But if you have a conviction for something that is not true, then it appears to be hard for people to let that go.I think at least we should be open to other views and allow ourselves to be challenged.I myself just need to see proof to the…[Read more]

terraricca,Quote it seems to me that we all receive the scriptures ,but not all perceive it as the truth,of God ,and need to be interpreted by men.Sorry unlike you I may have had scripture from the beginning but 32 years later I'm still discovering the truths in it. Why delusions are so hard to overcome (unsure of author) There is only one certain barrier to truth the conviction that you already have it.

To all:We do not receive all truth at salvation, it is a lifelong search that few, if any, even begin to scratch the surface of understanding all there is to know. So remember, some are ahead, and some behind in the process or their knowledge may be in different areas. Our job is to get others started on the path and relay truths as they have been…[Read more]

Who doesn't have some delusions in their assorted beliefs? For those old enough, think back 25 years ago to what you believed, has it changed? where you deluded then or now? I'm not advocating accepting false beliefs and we should confront them but we must do so being careful not to bring judgment upon ourselves. 1 Corinthians 4:1 So look at…[Read more]

Actually I see it as a three prong attack against those searching for truth:1) Deny God – Evolution is a major tool.2) False gods – Started 6,000 years ago with self (“be like God”), alien is one of the newer ones.3) Distort God – Loss of a balanced scriptural view, drive teachings to an extreme. One point we should keep in mind, most of those in…[Read more]

The throne is not a “chair” but a position of power and authority, which is why He could overcome and sit down with His Father on His throne (having been given all power and authority) while we can join Jesus on His “throne” of ruling and reigning (one may have several “thrones” in their lives, some shared, others… maybe not).My opinion – Wm

T,I don't believe any of us disagree that much on God embodying love. The point we are trying to make is in the Greek it literally states “God is love” while your stating it does not (maybe it translates differently in you language) but either way your argument is with scripture not me. Wm
