DavidL, I can use any material, so long as the material is not promoting false doctrine. I often quote from people who have said something true, but that is no reflection on how I may feel about other stuff they have said.
If I could only quote from perfect people, then I would never quote any man, bar Jesus Christ.

Surely being led by the Spirit and reasoning with God is not necessarily at odds.
To understand the things of God is better than not understanding them.
Hence prophecy is a greater gift than tongues unless it comes with interpretation.

The Holy Spirit guides us into all truth. But we need to respond to that truth in accordance with God’s will.
The Spirit can guide a man, but the man still needs to comply.

Reason is important in spiritual matters because God reveals truth and he wants us to understand that truth. He wants us to reason together with him.
Reason is not always just man trying to work stuff out, but can include pondering and meditating on that which God has revealed in order to understand it as deeply as possible.

Yes Kerwin, the Spirit of God dwells in men and God can be manifest in flesh just as he can be manifest in creation even though he is neither.
