The breath of God is giving life to that which He formed from the dust of the earth. There is no part of us that is immortal, when the body dies the person is dead, they have no thoughts, no memories, they cannot make any plans, they cannot do good or evil. The point of death is a punishment for sin, it’s taking away your life, not taking your spirit out of your body and sending it somewhere else and continuing living just without a body, that is pure Plato Greek philosophy. There is life and there is death, not life as in having a body and death meaning not having a body.
