It is true that the word that comes out of God’s mouth took on the qualities of flesh in Jesus of Nazareth when God bestowed God’s own Spirit on Jesus.

    Kerwin,
The word came saying. Then the word became flesh.

A permanent record of your scheming, yes.

This isn’t about what you asked me (in which I answered). It’s about what I asked you, which you avoid. You are flooding this thread deliberately – and you know that.

    Hi Gene.

The seven spirits are only mentioned in Revelation.

    Revelation 1:4 – John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne;

Revelation 3:1 – And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things…[Read more]

Ed, could you please answer my question?

Jesus said, “But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth; for he (the Holy Spirit) will not speak on his own initiative, but whatever he hears, he will speak; and he will disclose to you what is to come.” -John 16:13

So, whatever the Holy Spirit hears, he will speak. He…[Read more]

    Hi Ed,

So, whatever the Holy Spirit hears he speaks. ‘He does not speak on his own initiative’.

    Er, Ed…
you asked two questions which were answered. Then you said ‘the second question does not answer the first question’. Well why did you ask the second question? 😀 It’s like if you ask John “How old are you?”  John says “In my thirties”. You ask “WHERE were you born?”, John says “Timbuktu”. You say “Timbuktu is not an answer to my first…[Read more]

I have sat on the fence with this topic once, but I couldn’t make the words of Jesus fit with anything other than his pre-existence. Believing Jesus came down from heaven, and knew more about us than we ourselves do feels right and true.

(I didn’t just sit on the fence. I went right over)

    Miia,

Actually Jewish mystics do that sort of thing regularly. The case I know best of is calling Wisdom the daughter of God. I have even heard some call wisdom the wife of God. Gnostics corrupted that later. Both the Mystics and Gnostics called her Sophia, which by translation is Wisdom. She is also known in Christian mysticism.

    I also know…

I think the hot seat is a good idea… but, “Yes, No, or I Don’t Know” should not be included in the ‘set of rules’ unless you want to lose every member, t8. Most would not tolerated that kind of demand, hence we will leave or be banned, (except for Ed who will be left gloating!)

Other than that; the hot seat is a good idea.

Mystics would say the Spirit is the child of God because it comes from him.

Do you remember where you read that, if it was read?

Kerwin, Ed asked me one question, (Is “the spirit of Christ” God”), in which I answered… I could not answer with a “yes or no” answer, so I answered it how I saw it. NEXT, he asks me a separate question, (“All sons are part of their father – “Yes” or “No”?) in which I answered with a “yes” once I reworded my answer to, (“all sons are part of t…[Read more]

    Hi Miia,

All sons are part of their father – “Yes” or “No”?

    Miia?

    Hi Ed.

Not all sons are part of their Father. Some are adopted. God is not a man. God is the father of spirits. What does this all mean? Look to the spirit of Jesus for the divine which was in him.
