Gene, do you realize that it is the lens that you have in your glasses that chooses what “by” means. Just because you say the word “by” means such and such doesn’t automatically mean that the writer means the same thing as you say it does. Do you realize that everyone’s lenses are in differing degrees of cloudiness? Do you have an ounce of se…[Read more]

You said to Berean “If Jesus is God, then he is his own Father and his own son.”
t8, if the original living eternal One beget a Son asexually, then that original One manifests Himself as two at the moment the reproductive process began, in a father and a son. Both equally having the eternal nature of the original One. If you took the tim…[Read more]

Hi Carmel,
Thanks for trying to be concise 🙂
Are you aware that the word translated as “angel” is also translated as “messenger?” It can refer to a human messenger as well as to heavenly messengers.
Blessings on this Good Friday,
LU

Good words Berean!

Hi Gene,
The God of gods sent the Lord of lords, his son, to be his prophet to men. The son did so perfectly. The Lord of lords has been speaking for the God of gods since man began…before the flesh and in the flesh.

Hi Jodi,
I do not disagree with you about Jesus receiving the fullness of the spirit from the Father. We are all to be filled with the spirit and walk in that fullness. What you never seem to mention is that in order to walk in the fullness of the spirit from the Father, we need to be filled with the spirit of the Son. It is not possible to…[Read more]

Hi Carmel,
For some reason, I could not really grasp what you are saying. I prefer simple things, can you sum that up in a couple of sentences? What is this about humans being angels before they were humans? Is that what you are saying?
Blessings, LU

t8,
You said:
I wouldn’t compare God to a cell or any created thing myself, but the origin of the Son being begotten might show us something useful.
That said, Origen is talking about the Greek tongue and the meaning of the definite article. Obviously he studied scripture and not the dividing if a cell.
Thinking of the Son as asexually b…[Read more]

t8,
Origen would have done much better if he understood the asexual process. He does not show a true parent/offspring in his explanation.

Gene,
What you ask of Berean, you can learn from this passage:
John 14:7“If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; from now on you know Him, and have seen Him.”
8Philip said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.” 9Jesus said to him, “Have I been so long with you, and yet you have not come to know Me, Phili…

Good work Berean,
What the parent is, so is the offspring. They carry the same eternal substance and are the same type and have the same abilities.
God bless you, LU

t8,
You need a new and improved page. Try this one:
Exegetical Insight
The nominative case is the case that the subject is in. When the subject takes an equative verb like “is” (i.e., a verb that equates the subject with something else), then another noun also appears in the nominative caseąthe predicate nominative. In the sentence, “Joh…[Read more]

Mike,
Kathi: They are not the same cell, they are two distinct yet identical cells.
Mike: I understand what you’re saying. Do you understand that you’re saying that the Father is a combo of Father and Son while the Son is an IDENTICAL combo of Father and Son? Because that is what you’re saying, right? Is that what you believe?
No, I am sayin…[Read more]

Mike,
You said: I’m sure you also know of other passages where Jehovah is saying something like, “I will do this and that”, and ends with “Jehovah has spoken it, and it will be done”. Doesn’t mean there are two Jehovahs. Besides, we already know that our Lord’s name is Jesus, and his and our God’s name is Jehovah, right?
There is one Jehovah man…

You asked: If God became a man, then why did the Word that was with God become flesh. It would just need to say that God became flesh and God became a man. But the Word became flesh. Jesus Christ came in the flesh.
It tells us tha the Word that was with God was God. Seventeen verses later that God that was with God is the only begotten God who…[Read more]

Jodi,
I realize that you believe that Jesus, a man became a god. I believe that the Lord of lords became a man according to the flesh. You believe that Jesus’ resurrection made him the firstborn of God. I believe that before creation he became the firstborn of God and the resurrection made him the firstborn from the dead. If you believe that…[Read more]

Mike,
You (Mike) said: Kathi, I don’t think you answered me about Acts 4. What does it mean that the apostles prayed TO the one who created the heavens, the earth, the sea, and EVERYTHING in them? What does it mean that they identified Jesus – not AS that one – but as the holy servant OF that one? YHWH , the One God manifests Himself in two perso…

Hi Jodi,
Compare the two versions of the verse you base your views on:
Jude 1:4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.
Jude 1:4 For certain persons have crept in…[Read more]

Not quite, t8,
“These will wage war against the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, because He is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those who are with Him are the called and chosen and faithful.”
He IS Lord of lords AND King of kings.
Now that you can see that, does it make a difference…it says that the Lamb IS Lord of lords, it doesn’t…[Read more]
