While we are at it, Gene and Jodi, compare these words “Lord of me” in both these verses as they are in the Greek:

    Compare with this:

You will see that the Greek words for “the Lord of me” in both verses are the same numbers in the Strong’s dictionary: #3588, #2962,…

    Hi Gene,

You quote the Shema incorrectly which is making much of the problem with your understanding. I’m gonna try to help you but I would like you to acknowledge that you have been quoting it incorrectly. It is not your fault since several translations also translate it incorrectly. Here it is:

Deut 6:4 Hear, O Israel, Jehovah our God is one…[Read more]

    Jodi,

You asked: Falsely teach what exactly according to this specific passage?

I am pointing out to you that you believe that Jesus is “a” but those verses that I put up call Jesus “the” Lord. Can you call Jesus “the” Lord?

    Hi Jodi,

You said: the Lord OUR God is ONE Lord

You say that over and over but where does it say that specifically in the Bible in the original language and what is the original word that was translated as “Lord?” It seems that you will find out that your understanding of this is but sand and that you have been building a sand castle that is about…[Read more]

    Hi Jodi,

How many more verses do you want to see before you will admit that you have incorrectly been calling Jesus “a lord” and not “the Lord?” I could go on and on.

    Mark 16:19

So then, after the Lord had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God.

Did you notice the article “the” as in “the Lord<…[Read more]

    Jodi,

You probably won’t like this verse either:

    Luke 1

42In a loud voice she exclaimed, “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb! 43And why am I so honored, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? 44For as soon as the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy.…

    Jodi,

You probably won’t like this verse either:

    1 Cor 11:23

    For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus in the night in which He was betrayed took bread;

Did you notice the article “the as in the Lord” there, not “a lord” as you want to believe.

    Jodi,

You said: LU, Jesus was making the point that without his God he is nothing.

That is so far from reality.

The Father and the Son do nothing apart from each other. Together they can do everything needed.

    Gene,

If you had read my response to your “dia” argument, you wouldn’t keep mentioning it. See if you can find it.

    Have a good day, LU

    Jodi,

    You asked:

Matthew 19: 17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

Who is “he” that says there is none good but ONE?

    Jodi,

I have many possible things to say about your recent posts. Perhaps I will get to that but I want to put this here for you. This should be clear to those who are willing to see that Jesus is THE Lord, not a Lord AND THE God of Thomas.

You said: And given that other translations translate it simply as ‘lord’, then this is a fail.

You need to dig a little deeper. We know that many translations translate the name YHWH as LORD but that doesn’t mean He is not Jehovah does it.

Anyway, you post greek interlinear passages when I posted a translation that is not from a Greek man…[Read more]

    Mike,

    You said:

Okay, let’s go even slower then… There couldn’t be a “their” in the original cell unless there were already two individual sentient persons. So is that your claim?

The original one had within itself the potential to become both a father and a son, their substance was within the original one before it went through the begetting process.

    Hi Carmel,

Maybe you’re joking but in case you are serious, the human mother has within her an eggs that someday will possibly become person/persons. Until it is fertilized, that egg is not a person because persons have 46 chromosomes but an egg only has 23. The egg requires the other 23 chromosomes to come from a sperm. Biology 101 🙂

    Mike,

    You said:

But wait… according to the scriptures I just posted, the “Jehovah” who is eternal (no origins) is the “Jehovah” who created the whole world. So according to your theory, that couldn’t have been either the Father OR the Son – since you say they both have origins. Kathi, your scenario begins with one God who is eternal, and…

    Mike,

I appreciate the discussion. I am intending on sticking with you till you see what I am trying to say because I believe it is really important and worthy the focus.

    Mike,

The Father’s origin began at the same moment the Son’s origin began. Their substance eternally existed before the One became a father and a son.

    Mike,

That verse in Micah 5:2 does nothing to challenge the origin in regards to relationship of father/son from eternity but enforces it.
