Thank you for those great verses, Togel. I understand your frustration and feeling that there is nothing more you can say. There is always more that you can learn here by defending the deity of Jesus and it can only grow you closer to Him as you dig for more defense for the hope that lies within you.

Beautifully said Pilgrim, thank you. I’ve been reading some of the earliest church father’s lately, Ignatius, Polycarp, and Ireanaus. Ignatius and Polycarp died for those truths that you wrote. Ignatius was fed to the lions and Polycarp was put in the midst of fire and then stabbed by a sword. Both of these believers in Jesus as God with God in…[Read more]

Jesus was considered “anointed” as a baby. See that He was called the “Christ” or the anointed one in these two passages.

    Matt 2:3

When King Herod heard this, he was disturbed, and all Jerusalem with him. 4And when he had assembled all the chief priests and scribes of the people, he asked them where the Christ was to be born.

    Mike,

    You said:

My point was that the Father does things without needing the power/authority/company/assistance of the Son.  Some of those things the Father does without the Son are for the benefit of the Son, sure.  But that’s not the story you’re painting here.  You’re trying to imply that the Father NEEDS the Son in order to do stuff – as if…

    Mike,

    You asked:

The prayer mentions the creation, right?

    1. Did Jesus’ apostles pray to the one who created the heavens, the earth, the sea, and everything in them? (Clear, honest, and succinct answer please.)

    2. Is Jesus the one to whom they prayed? (Clear, honest, and succinct answer please.)

Yes, Mike, the prayer mentions the creation.

    Another of Jodi’s false teaching:

    Regarding Hebrews 1:8

She said: “God called him a god, as He called Moses a god.“

The definite article is used before “theos” in Hebrews 1:8 therefore “a god” would be an incorrect translation, as seen here:3463C696-D91E-49A9-A8FE-B479C4A564BB

    Hi Gene,

I believe the author of that quote is comparing what he knows is true to what you believe and what a huge difference there is between One who is the Only Begotten God who became a man to a man that didn’t pre-exist as the Only Begotten God.

Saint Ignatius regarding the Sabbath (Ignatius was an early church writer, bishop and Christian martyr who lived 35AD-108 AD):

Does this sound like anyone here?

Saint Ignatius of Antioch: The Epistles, page 141

If any one says there is one God, and also confesses Christ Jesus, but thinks the Lord to be a mere man, and not the only-begotten God, and Wisdom, and the Word of God, and deems Him to consist merely of a soul and body, such an one is a serpent, that preaches…

    Hi Boomerang,

Hopefully someday your wife will know the love of Jesus and realize how much He wants to have a relationship with her. Even being in a Christian marriage, one person may be completely not interested in apologetics and studying the Bible while the other is very much so interested it that. Fortunately we can all love each other where…[Read more]

Berean, great job on your posting.

The only begotten Son has always been loving the sons of man from their beginning back in Genesis. He loved man so much that he willing came to lay down his life for mankind in order to redeem them. Greater love has no man than the love of the Father and the Son. We can only imagine.

    Gene,

You said: LU…..I think slowing down and deal with what is written clearly in our scriptures would help you also. I know you have been taught a lot of different things over many years, by different writers, but following their teaching can led you no where in the end, because if they are wrong and wind up in the ditch so will you right? Seriously Gene,

You asked Berean: Berean, what do you do with the geology of Jesus given in Luke 3:23-38, have you thrown it out of your bible?

First of all, you mean genealogy, not geology. Second of all, Christians all over the world acknowledge the genealogy of Jesus as the son of created man which is different than how he is the only begotten…[Read more]

    Hi Pilgrim,

You are right, there are so many fallacies in the teaching of Jodi and Gene. There really seems to be something that is covering their spiritual eyes.

Let’s continue to hope for unity.

    Jodi,

I understand that Jesus is begotten by God from the grave on the day of his resurrection as the Firstborn from the dead so that he will be the firstborn of many brethren according to his flesh as David’s descendant.

    Jodi,

You believe in a god that has no true biological son. That is different than the one the Bible teaches.

    Jodi,

    You said:

Paul says,  “to us there is but ONE God, the Father“.

And who does Paul say is our ONE Lord? Jehovah is not just God but God and Lord.

Jesus says, “I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.

When Jesus says “my God, and your God” that equates to OUR God, his and mine together, we share the same God.
