Ya'll,I'm just researching some here to see how different ones explain 'eternally begotten' whether or not I agree with them, I will still post their opinions. I just want to have a place for the various opinions that I come across to be located in one topic.

Dennison or someone that can read Greek,I found the Nicene Creed in the Greek:http://www.creeds.net/ancient/niceneg.htmI would like to know what word/words were translated as eternally begotten. I am guessing that 'begotten before the ages' is a more accurate translation. I know some Greek but I depend on an interlinear and a morphological study…[Read more]

Regarding monogenes and how it is translated, Henry M. Morris, Ph.D. from the Institute for Creation Research has this to say:Quote The Only Begotten SonBut why was it important for the Holy Spirit who inspired these five great verses to stress that the Lord Jesus was the incarnate only begotten Son of God? Many modern English translations of the…[Read more]

From the Institute for Creation Research, Henry M. Morris, Ph.D. had this to say about 'eternally begotten:'Quote Eternally BegottenHe is not just the only begotten Son of the Father, for He is also the eternally begotten Son of the Father. Shimmer,I really want to be done with this but you need to know that I did not privately pm Keith to degrade anyone behind their back but to encourage Keith to continue to take the higher road and avoid discussions like the one going on so as to NOT add flame to the fire and continue the poor behavior that we were all witnessing (yes, even you)…[Read more]

Fine Shimmer, I apologize for hurting you. I won't tell you what I think when you ask me again. If I said something to you that I thought was true and you don't think that it was, then maybe you are coming across in a way that you don't even realize. You won't even tell me what I wrote that you don't think was true so how can I really apologize…[Read more]

Quote (shimmer @ Oct. 08 2010,19:44)Ok. Well has WJ sensed a mean spirit with you toward me ? Because I did and I approached you in the forum about it, and you denied it. But then in private you let rip. And what you wrote hurt me. But I prayed and I replied to you and apologised to have upset you, I could have argued back as most of what you said…[Read more]

Shimmer,I have not said anything about you that I have not told you personally, or JA for that matter. No secrets here. I rarely private message anyone. The only thing that I have said about you to anyone was twice. Once I asked Mike to apologize to you because you were having a rough day and you didn't mean what you said way back when and…[Read more]

Hi Irene,I agree that Psalm 2 is about the Messiah but not only what will be in the future but His begetting as a Son before the ages.Your opinion is a new one to hear. You think that 'eternally begotten' means that He will always be begotten. I think that the intent is more to do with when He was originally begotten. Thanks for your view, Irene.…[Read more]

Irene,The Father said this to the Son when He was first begotten as to His divinity before the ages and the decree was fulfilled at the resurrection as far as I can tell.Matthew Henry's commentary on Psalm 2:7 is here, in part:Psalms 2:7-9II. There is a declaration of that decree as far as is necessary for the satisfaction of all those who are…[Read more]

Quote (Baker @ Oct. 04 2010,20:30)Kathi! First would Jehovah God be eternally begotten? No,but Jesus is, meaning for all eternity He will be begotten. I don't think that you can look this up in the Dictionary since it is two words. We know what eternal means and we know what begotten means. So put both together and you have Jesus being eter…[Read more]
