    Hi Adam,

    You said:

    2 Cor 13:13

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with all of you.
Here Jesus is included in the doxology along with God. There are many such scriptures which support the exalted role of Jesus along with God in the NT…

Exactly! Two powers of YHVH along with the power of…

    Proclaimer,

As is apparent in your last post, you have no idea about Greek plural nouns or singular nouns. Here is a picture of how the root word “theos” is changed in spelling to represent different uses of the word in the sentence. Please note that the singular form is not written the same as the plural form.

    Adam,

    You said:

In short, Judaism and Christianity are absolutely built upon the tenet that there are no other gods but Yahweh. But the ancient Israelites, from whom Christianity grew from, did not seem to share those beliefs. In fact, Yahweh himself did not seem to share them in passages such as Exodus 20:3 – “You shall have no other gods bef…

I believe that the trinity calls the Spirit a third person. I don’t follow that belief.

    Adam,

    You said:

Yes she is believing that there are two persons who are called ‘God of gods’ and two persons who are called ‘Lord of lords’.

That does not represent what I believe. See post above this.

    Proclaimer and Adam,

The Father + The Son + The Spirit = One God, One Lord, and One Spirit. All are identified as YHVH.

The Father alone is not One God, One Lord, and One Spirit.

    Hi gadam123,

You can put the discussion there. However, the unity of the Godhead is important in John 1:1 as well as we see two who are both called “God.” You decide 🙂

    Hi gadam123,

You seem to assume that YHVH is one person only, as opposed to two or three persons who are members of a fullness of God called YHVH.

    For example,

Deut 10:17 tells us that YHVH is God of gods and Lord of lords. You seem to believe that only one person is both God of gods as well as Lord of lords. Why do you disagree with Paul in 1…[Read more]

    Hi gadam123,

    You said:

While God the Father is the One called “Lord of lords” in Deuteronomy 10:17 and in Psalms, the New Testament writers use the same title to refer to Jesus Christ. This is the change I am questioning.

Deuteronomy 10:17 doesn’t use “Father” in that verse anywhere. That is your assumption.

    @Proclaimer

You repeat this over and over:

“For us, there is one God the Father…”.

For everyone else, there is a long list of gods from Babylon to choose from.

For you, YHVH is not Lord, just God. If you read Heb 1:10-12 you would see that God the Father identifies His Son as YHVH. YHVH is both God and Lord, Father AND Son.

    Mike,

    You said:

The word is a verb, meaning an action. The meaning of the Hebrew you quoted is that God took action A before He took those other actions of ancient times (ie: the ones we all already know about, like creating the heavens and the earth, etc.)  So whether “possessed” or “created”, God took action to do that thing before He did the…
