Ok, Ted, I hope my posts only help you find truth. If I remember right, I have read the Gospel of Thomas and didn't think much of it because of how it talked about women. Mike,I think that the Son always existed within the Father before He was begotten. Also, we know from scripture that Jesus is eternal life. The life that he was 'given' was as the 'shoot' not as the root.
