Both times would be true of a definition of the term ‘godhead’ that means-the authority that has dominion over all created things.Lightenup replied to the topic Does 1 Peter 2 imply that Jesus is God? in the forum Truth or Tradition 11 years, 7 months ago
Truth is truth, no matter who speaks it Nick. Scripture tells us who has dominion over all created beings. That would be the Father AND the Son. The truth of a Godhead, i.e. those with ultimate dominion over creation, has been established in this scripture. Words can have slightly different meanings depending on contexts, Nick.
We have:

The definition that I gave is suitable to its use. Jesus has full authority in heaven and on earth over all created things. So does the Father.Lightenup replied to the topic Proclaimer vs Lightenup in the forum Debates 11 years, 7 months ago

you said:Jesus is not called theos as God is.
I completely disagree with your statement. I think maybe you confuse the relationship of the persons with the ultimate innate nature required to be God. I believe they both contain the same innate nature (eternal nature) which makes one theos. It is the Father’s position as a father to a son that…[Read more]

A godhead would be an authority made up of all of those with eternal dominion over all created beings for ever and ever.

It is not theory, we all agree that the two persons who are given all dominion for ever and ever are both called a theos. The term ‘godhead’ is completely applicable. No need to take on the church about that…go for unity. That is Jesus’ prayer for us.

Please follow along…only two called god are acknowledged to have dominion forever by every created thing. Can you name them?Lightenup replied to the topic Does 1 Peter 2 imply that Jesus is God? in the forum Truth or Tradition 11 years, 7 months ago
@t8
@NickHassan
So we have the facts that we agree on:
The Father and the Son are two persons who are referred to as theos somewhere in scriptures and those two persons are both given, by every created thing, the honor of having the blessing, and the honour, and the glory, and the dominion, for ever and ever.That represents a godhead, my…[Read more]

you saidLI already bow to him.
He is my Lord.
But his God is my God.
That is good that you bow to two who are identified as a theos in scripture, Nick.

you said:Since you have appointed him a god then perhaps you and other religious folk who do not know his God, the Father.
Were you done with your thought? Or were you just getting started? Did you want to complete your statement?
Are you a created being and ultimately will you be among those who are bowing down to the one on the…[Read more]

you said:If he is called theos by office, then he is not the God of everyone. A better word would be lord.
Will EVERYONE be bowing down to Him in the end, t8? Is He Lord of ALL, t8? Ultimately, when all is said and done, who do all the others whom are called theos bow down to and give honor, praise, glory, and dominion for ever and ever? If…[Read more]

Very good, theos can simply mean mighty one. The question is, ultimately, which mighty ones participated in creation, salvation, and are given dominion, glory, honor, and praise for ever and ever by the other mighty ones??? Do you know? Maybe if you read the other things those sources tell you, you will see what they say and while you are…[Read more]

Just answer the question. I didn’t ask who He is not a god of.
You also admit that Jesus is a god. Who do you believe He is a god of?Lightenup replied to the topic Does 1 Peter 2 imply that Jesus is God? in the forum Truth or Tradition 11 years, 8 months ago

you said:Sorry but no, we must believe in one who is God the Father as well as his son. While his son can be called theos like others are, we are not required to believe that he is THE God and neither a god as far as I can tell.

When God had a son or begat the Word from himself, it did not change him. He did not get better or worse. He is the same. He is perfect.
Ahhh….so it is His perfection that is consistent and what is meant by the fact that He changes not. You keep saying that Jesus changed so He cannot be God. In what ways was Jesus less than perfect, t8??
