I’m sorry but I have no idea of what you are rambling on about regarding how the “I” is used. You seem to be saying that it is more about arrogance vs. humility. Yes, we are to accept what He is with fear and trembling. We are to proclaim the truth boldly. Your ‘truth’ is not inline with scriptures, imo. Those in the basement/under…[Read more]

Sons can always exist?
It is a strange concept to think that anyone had always existed but how would a person exist as Father if there were no offspring always belonging to Him? If the Son did not always exist, the Father did not always exist as Father.
There was only one son that always existed and it is the theos who is the…[Read more]Lightenup replied to the topic Does 1 Peter 2 imply that Jesus is God? in the forum Truth or Tradition 11 years, 7 months ago
Really, counting my use of a personal pronoun is your response to my testimony and the evidence to your idolatrous ways as you pray in the name of a created being, etc?
You even do it hypocritally as you state what you believe and use the same amount of “I’s” in your statement. Does anyone see the irony of this?

I believe the Son always existed you believe that He didn’t. That is probably the root of our main differences. I don’t believe that scripture is in your favor. I see Jesus as identified as Jehovah of hosts by Peter and the NT identifies Jesus with the same titles as Jehovah in the OT. Also, as the wisdom in Prov 8:22, the Father…[Read more]

Two who are called theos are given the honor of having dominion over all created things. There is no other like them.

No other man existed as Jehovah of hosts or anything else before conception. That is only an accomplishment for Jehovah of hosts that Peter identifies as Jesus.Lightenup replied to the topic Does 1 Peter 2 imply that Jesus is God? in the forum Truth or Tradition 11 years, 7 months ago
@t8
One does seem pretty foolish when they acknowledge Jesus as a theos but haven’t got a clue as to whom He is a theos to. This is elementary. All creatures bow before Him.Lightenup replied to the topic Does 1 Peter 2 imply that Jesus is God? in the forum Truth or Tradition 11 years, 7 months ago
Nick,
you said:Jesus did not exist before flesh. He was conceived in Mary.
The person existed before conception in Mary which is popularly called the incarnation. Amazing isn’t it!

Nick,
See for yourself where people are learning about God from Paul and some follow him and believe…let him be an example of teaching people about God and witnessing people come to faith through this:Acts 17:22So Paul stood in the midst of the Areopagus and said, “Men of Athens, I observe that you are very religious in all respects. 2…[Read more]

Nick,
Please answer:
Please tell me what type of being the Son was before He came in the flesh. Was He an always existent eternal being or a created being?Lightenup replied to the topic Does 1 Peter 2 imply that Jesus is God? in the forum Truth or Tradition 11 years, 7 months ago
NIck,
you asked:Why is knowing ABOUT GOD important?
Faith comes by hearing about God.

Nick,
God is not apart from men so as to be studied theologically.
Nick, men can become a god unto themselves when they believe whatever comes to mind, I can tell you don’t study theology, btw.

Only the LORD can adjust your thinking so that you may know and know about Jehovah.Matt 11:27…no one knows the Father except the Son…
To know an always existent Father would require an always existing relationship with an always existing Son. There was a whole lot of existing going on before the Son became flesh.

you say:
Becoming an expert about God saves nobody.
Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.
It is evident by this verse that “KNOWING” the only true God and Jesus Christ IS ETERNAL LIFE. Being an expert about God is certainly a worthy goal and is…[Read more]

Do you think it to be theory or truth that there are two persons who are called theos in scripture and are acknowledged to have dominion over all created things for ever and ever?Lightenup replied to the topic Does 1 Peter 2 imply that Jesus is God? in the forum Truth or Tradition 11 years, 7 months ago
What term would you use to represent that authority that has dominion over all created things in heaven, on the earth and under the earth, Nick?

Hi Gene, I agree that a group of human created gods would be false and not part of a God head. However, maybe you remember that I believe that Jesus was not created but always existed within the Father before the cosmos was created. The Father possessed Him at the beginning of His (the Father’s) way. He has always been around. What…[Read more]

Hi Bo, it is good to talk with you too! Thanks for your patience 🙂You write about knowing the only true God and I think that if you knew the only true God, you would know the offspring part of Him also…the one He sent-Jesus. You deny the offspring part of God and cannot truly know God as “the Father,” imo.
