Hi wakeup et al,
I understand the Son as the eternal offspring PART of the one true God, the Father. As offsprings naturally are, He is the same type of being as the Father which makes two persons who have the same attributes and same eternalness of the highest sort. When God appears as one person, the Son is right there as a part of His whole…[Read more]Lightenup replied to the topic Does 1 Peter 2 imply that Jesus is God? in the forum Truth or Tradition 11 years, 6 months ago

You try to hold so tightly to your own reasoning. I have shown you many things in scripture that show that Jesus is a son of God, the kind that is after the kind of the father’s kind. He is called the firstborn over all creation, and God connected that with the light of day one for me. He is called the only begotten son of God. Jesus said…[Read more]Lightenup replied to the topic Does 1 Peter 2 imply that Jesus is God? in the forum Truth or Tradition 11 years, 7 months ago
There is no evidence in Scripture that God reproduces after his kind
Hmmmm…..

Are you just now realizing that I am saying that the Son of God is a special, authentic offspring of God and the only son of God in this manner?

i am not the only one that can see what i see ,same spirited mind will see the same things ,
Exactly! Test the spirits and choose the one that is from God. It is no prize to be joined in spirit with the wrong spirit.

The Son of God existed before the cosmos was created. He became the Son of Man also. All things were created through Him and for Him.Btw, t8 did not make a point except that he can take things written out of context and twist them to try to discredit others. I’m not dodging a worthy challenge because I see none.

You speculate that Jesus is handing over the kingdom of Light to His Father. I don’t believe that is what is being talked about. Instead it is the Kingdom of Darkness that Jesus has abolished and handed over to the Father. The kingdom of Light already acknowledges the Father as God and ‘head’ of the Son. Christians in general do not…[Read more]Lightenup replied to the topic Does 1 Peter 2 imply that Jesus is God? in the forum Truth or Tradition 11 years, 7 months ago

You are speaking of the “Son of Man” who is the promised heir to David’s throne. I am speaking of the Son of God. He is both!Lightenup replied to the topic Does 1 Peter 2 imply that Jesus is God? in the forum Truth or Tradition 11 years, 7 months ago

you said:Jesus was not adopted.
Nevertheless consider that Isaac who was Abraham’s second child is called Abraham’s one and only child in Scripture despite the fact that Ismael is also Abraham’s child. Scripture chooses the call Isaac the one and only child because Isaac is the child of the promise and Ismael, though his brother, is no…

If he looks like a divine person, acts like a diving person, he is a divine person. The divine person took on flesh and was called Emmanuel, meaning God with us.Lightenup replied to the topic Does 1 Peter 2 imply that Jesus is God? in the forum Truth or Tradition 11 years, 7 months ago

you said:You already know I do not mean he is a person that is called Wisdom but that he is instead the vessel of God’s literal Wisdom.
Yes, I am aware that you do not acknowledge Jesus to be the wisdom of Prov. 8 but that He represents God’s wisdom as a man. However, in the end of the book, He is worshiped as a person that, with a…[Read more]

I believe we have gone over this. Once again, regarding gender of words whether Greek or Hebrew, the gender of words that have no obvious gender, like wisdom or head, are written as having gender. In Hebrew, nouns are either masculine or feminine. In Greek, nouns are either masculine or feminine or neuter. Wisdom is always a feminine noun…[Read more]Lightenup replied to the topic Does 1 Peter 2 imply that Jesus is God? in the forum Truth or Tradition 11 years, 7 months ago

There are two beings who are both called theos in scripture. They both have dominion over all created things for ever and ever. One is the Son of the other. If they were two different types of beings, they wouldn’t be father and son. The church is built on the truth that Jesus IS the Son. That is my belief also.

Regarding Jesus always being a Son of God even before creation:
