From Ireneaus to help you realize about those who are called God/god:
Chapter VI—The Holy Ghost, throughout the Old Testament Scriptures, made mention of no other God or Lord, save him who is the true God.
1. Therefore neither would the Lord, nor the Holy Spirit, nor the apostles, have ever named as God, definitely and absolutely, him w…

When you refer to Jesus in your writings you call Him a variety of things such as Lord, Lamb, Messiah, Son of God, etc. He is also called God but you shy away from that and I don’t.
Also, btw, I am not quick to point out that others are called elohim or theos but I don’t deny it. I just know they are not in the same ballpark, so to speak of…[Read more]

you asked:Would you be interested in a super debate.
I don’t suggest it since you have so much trouble with a one on one debate. You might want to work on your comprehension skills though. Thanks for asking anyway.

@Grasshopper
you said:How exactly do you think that we are going to attend the wedding feast as invited guests and ALSO be the bride? How do you, personally, explain that phenomenon?
If you are referring to Matthew 22, this passage is about becoming part of the kingdom of heaven. The Jews were invited first, many rejected the gospel-refusing…[Read more]

In this passage we see that the church is presented to Christ after being washed of water by the word, sanctified and cleansed. The church and Christ become one body like a man and wife become one flesh. The man does, in that sense marry his own body.Eph 5:25Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave…[Read more]

you said:If you look at it through human eyes; yes, you will see two.
The Son and the Father; this is how the majority sees it.
The Son needs to feed us to be able to understand. The early church saw two distinct persons also. What kind of eyes do you have and how many do you see?

From another early church father and even martyr, Justin Martyr, we read that the ‘US’ refers to the Father and His offspring (the Word):
Chapter LXII.—The words “Let Us make man” agree with the testimony of Proverbs.
“And the same sentiment was expressed, my friends, by the word of God by Moses, when it indicated to us, with regard to Him who…

Very good op! Do you believe that one translation of the Bible was protected? Do you believe that other translations were not protected? I watched a video that was linked to on HN which gives strong evidence to that possibility. One way to examine which text is accurate is to see how the verse is quoted by the early church fathers and the…[Read more]

I just read this from Justin Martyr. Justin was born less than 100 years from when Jesus was walking among His disciples.
I have made ‘bold’ the text which is especially relevant to the discussion.Chapter IX.—Let us live with Christ.
If, therefore, those who were brought up in the ancient order of things680 have come to the possession of a n…Lightenup replied to the topic Let US make man in OUR image. in the forum Scriptural Teachings 11 years, 6 months ago
