Nick,
Scripture only teaches one way to be an overcome and that is to walk according to the Spirit.
Yet you insist on claiming there is another.
You are not even bothering to claim it is implied.

Nick,
The Law is Spiritual but a human being is not. That is why Paul wrote these words:
Romans 7:14Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)
14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.
Carnal, as in bondage to sin. It is also known as being a servant to sin.
Romans 6:16-17Authorized (King James) Version…

t8,
He became a man and once existed in the form of God.
The idea that God has an outward form is an absurd teaching as God created the universe that allows outward forms, whether that of angels, humans, or others, to exist.
Its either God created the heavens and the earth or he did not.
Humanity was created in the form of God but went in…[Read more]

Nick,
The word flesh is used mystical, aka figuratively, in this teaching but I cannot think of any others that are.The options are walk according to the flesh or walk according to the Spirit. (Galatians 5)
Those options are given to those that are set free from bondage to sin.
Those that are still in bondage can only walk according to the works…[Read more]kerwin replied to the topic What does it mean that Jesus came in the flesh? in the forum Scriptural Teachings 9 years, 9 months ago
Nick,
It is you that speculates not me.
I just use what is written to reveal what is hidden.
The teaching of the resurrection is hidden in the OT but Jesus taught it though the Sadducees did not see it. Do you choose to be like the Sadducees?
kerwin replied to the topic What does it mean that Jesus came in the flesh? in the forum Scriptural Teachings 9 years, 9 months ago
Nick,
Of course that does not mean he was not lead by the Spirit previous, only that he was not that it is literally written.
It is different context than when those words are used in Galatians 5.

Nick,
Believers receive the Spirit by the grace of God. Do you not believe the same happened to the Author and Finisher of their faith?
kerwin replied to the topic What does it mean that Jesus came in the flesh? in the forum Scriptural Teachings 9 years, 9 months ago
Nick,
I already pointed out to you but you not truly believe that one must either walk according to the Spirit or according to the flesh and so seek a third way that is not written to explain why Jesus did not sin previous to having the spirit land on him.
There is no third way written in Scripture only speculation and hints.

Terrarica,
If I failed to answer a question then please repeat it as I might of missed it.
I did answer your question:

and this one as well.
,but do you understand what sin his ?
The answers are in my last post to you.

Nick,
I made no assumptions about Jesus’ words in John.
What do you think is an assumption?
kerwin replied to the topic What does it mean that Jesus came in the flesh? in the forum Scriptural Teachings 9 years, 9 months ago
Ed,
Jesus has the Holy Spirit from the time he was first tempted by sin.
The Spirit that landed on him in the form of a dove was a sign to John.
It seems reasonable he was anointed to preach the gospel and do wonders at that time as well but I no of no direct link between the two except when they occurred in time.
It is simply two different…[Read more]

I believe every passage as it is written; I just don’t always believe your interpretation of it.
Sin is hate.

Nick,
But you think someone can be conceived without a spirit?
I have no evidence a one celled human being has a soul nor do I have solid evidence I tree has a spirit. A tree does not have a soul. When God gives a human a soul he also gives them a spirit. I do not know the times of when it occurs but John knew Mary when he was but 6 months old…[Read more]

Ed,
Before I heard it from you I looked at the hypothesis that you advance and found it false. Nick may remember when I did it as we had a conversation about it.
God is the source of all righteousness which is to say there is only one Spirit and it is his.

The only man to be an overcomer was Jesus.
I am going to say not the only man but merely the first and greatest one.

Terrarica,
The flesh is the way I interrelate to all that is for it provides my mobility, my ability to think, the five senses of taste, touch, smell, hearing, and seeing, Some of these may be present to a certain extent in the soul but they are reduced.
The soul provides what and who I am and perhaps other things.

terrarica,
Three parts are body, soul, and spirit though they are the two parts known as inward and outward man. Each is a different ways of describing a human being.
The three parts are mentioned here and elsewhere.
1 Thessalonians 5:23Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

Terrarica,
Sorry, I forgot your concept of soul is not the same as mine.
I believe the soul is the basic identity of self while the body is its interface with the world. As you the body is a minor part. The human spirit appears to be the human will. In all they are the three part nature of a human.
I will have to look over your words some…[Read more]

Nick,
I am going by what is written.
God only gives human the choice to walk according to the Spirit or walk according to the flesh. The fact is Jesus did not sin even though tempted as we did and so never walked according to the flesh.
The only speculation I have done is look for another way for Jesus to have not sinned while also not having…[Read more]
