I believe Joyner is using the word religious to mean ritualized but it sounds more like those who condemn all religions that merely those are more into worshiping God with their outer self while their inner self declares there is no God.

The point is irrelevant as this world sin had to be condemned at the same time a way to escape it had to be established in order for the remnant to escape its destruction. The death, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus accomplished those things and so we have the new covenant.

I do not know where it is written in Scripture that all atonement requires blood but Jesus is called the atoning sacrifice. Technically he did not shed a lot of blood and the words “shed blood” is often used as an idiom for “murder” or “kill”
