I believe it is a disagreement between two manuscripts. The AV of the KJV is translated from one while modern versions such as NET are translated from the other. The bottom line is the Bibles states Jesus was in an act of mercy chose to sacrifice himself and died on the cross and then God resurrected him and the Quran states he did not die and so did not need to be resurrected.

Paul taught the same gospels as the other disciples and even use the same imagery of being a servant to sin in Romans 6 as Jesus used in John 8. Paul’s gospel is Jesus’ and his other students’ gospel.
