Man was made in the image of God.

Yes he was soul and spirit just as God is and he was given a body from the dirt of earth.

Image of God means more than that. The only use I know of that clause in Scripture means like God in true holiness and righteousness.

I read what you said but I find it wise to test all teachings. So far I have found nowhere where a nominative noun is preceded by the definite article. There are a lot of nominative nouns and I have not looked them all up so I cannot say for sure that they are all accompanied by definite articles.

First: Scripture does not speaking of a third way of living. It presents two ways and one is to live by the Spirit while the other is to live by the flesh.

The fruit of the flesh is sin and it was not until she ate of the tree that she sinned.

God is the God of the Law of Moses and his Hebrew servants obeyed it because it is his word.

Jesus Christ came that the righteous requirements of the Law would be put within and written on the hearts of those that believe.

Actually Jesus does deny he is God by comparing to the humans that God called gods because they received the Law and pointing out that he is superior to them as he is the one by whom the Law would be written in the hearts of those that believed.
