    Terrarica,

for a real man comes from a women and a man connection

This point denies the power of God as well as being untrue.

It is untrue as in the case of identical twins the child of “twin” is formed through mitosis and not through the fusion of a male and a female gamete.

Both the point and counterpoint are vain because they deny the…[Read more]

    Terrarica,

Here is as summary and/or paraphrase of the words Peter spoke to those who had not known Christ as written in the New English Translation.

Acts 2:22-36New English Translation (NET Bible)

22 “Men of Israel, listen to these words: Jesus the Nazarene, a man clearly attested to you by God with powerful deeds, wonders, and miraculous s…

    Danny Dabbs,

I do not believe he did preexist his conception as he was conceived in Mary, as of the body. There is a First Century argument that human souls preexist their conception. I again do not think his soul preexisted his conception but my lack of knowledge on that issue means I am not certain.

    Gene,

At one point you claimed the rock was God but since you claim you understanding has evolved to the rock being the “revelation of God” it is a stronger argument.

I am still going to say the rock is faith that Jesus is the Christ, the chief son of the living God but since that is revealed to a believer by God it appears to be a non-important…[Read more]

    Terrarica,

I have already shared it with you previously.

Here is a part of it.

In the gospel is the promise of receiving and walking according to the Spirit of God. That promise is received by faith and accomplished by faith that Jesus is the Chris, the chief son of God’s Spirit. (Romans 1:7 and 3:22)

I did address the point that Jesus is called the Son of God. Did I miss another point you brought up in quoting those passages of Scripture?

    terrarica,

What the gospel is, is debated by many. Some also seek to water it down to make it more acceptable to many. We debate it on this site quite often.

    Terrarica,

Jesus lived and preached the gospel while he was in the world while John the Baptist did not. Jesus’ student-adherents also preached and lived the gospel while they were in the world.

    AndrewAD,

Why don’t you believe that Jesus was the light of the world during his mortality (John 9:5) but his student-adherents are also the light of the world. (Matthew 5:14)

    Terrarica,

In the case of identical twins the second twin is not produced by the fusion of two gametes but only by mitosis. The parents of the parent sibling are credited with being the parents though technically they are the grandparents of the offspring sibling.

Of course this is irrelevant as God is the one that caused Jesus to be conceived…[Read more]

Peter evangelized by teaching the people at Pentecost that Jesus was a human being. (Acts 2:22-23)

    Terrarica,

It is not an opinion. It is the what occurs during conception of a living creature. The cells divide from a one cell organism to become a multi-cell organism. Mitosis is one of the process that occur in the formation of a body.

    Danny Dabbs,

I think it is a prophecy of Christ but other than that I do not see where it implies he preexists.

The sum of this discussion is that some believe certain passages imply Jesus preexists his conception while other do not see any passages as implying that he preexists his conceptions. I have trouble seeing how it is an issue since…[Read more]

    Nick,

I am not sure what your words mean.

I assume you are saying Elizabeth has an anointing from God to speak his word and so was filled by the Holy Spirit. If so then you are also saying that anointing is not the baptism of the Holy Spirit. If I am correct then I have no disagreement with you.

    t8,

So repentance followed by baptism in water in the name of Jesus Christ, leads to receiving the Holy Spirit.

Yes, that is what Peter’s words in Acts 2:38 say with the word ” and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”

The thing is the King Saul received the Holy Spirit without being immersed in the name of Jesus. How can that be…[Read more]

Here we see that Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit and she had not been baptized. The same is true with Zacharias.

She was under the Old Testament which is different from the new testament just as the words of Jeremiah testify.

Jeremiah 31:31-33Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

31 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord,…

Since in general I do not think heresy is blaspheme against the Holy Spirit I take the words Galatians 1:8 as a warning as well as a emphatic argument voicing how Paul felt about protecting those God placed under him.

    t8,

Personally I wouldn’t say that Satan is behind his ministry.

Scripture is harsh on those that either add or subtract from the gospel; for example, it is written ” But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.” (Galatians 1:8)

    Terrarica,

I understood your point from Luke 12:50 and the wording that verse is also metaphysical with baptism being used to symbolize a concept. It does not negate the fact that being immersed in water is an early step in following the one gospel of Christ. Peter reveals this when he states “doers anyone forbid these water to be baptized” and…[Read more]
