Not really. To me it seems the only alternative though. I don't know that it can be argued or that there is any point in arguing it. I dont know what the argument is for it, other than it seems slightly less unlikely to me than alternatives. What is the argument against it?

Hi mike. In the latter half of your post, you say many things I hadn't considered and that I now have to research. Unfortunately, I'm in the middle of weeks of research on other topics and I don't want to stray from that research.

Quote Which scripture tells us they are “false” gods? (Hint: There isn't a single scripture in the entire Bible that speaks of any “false god” or “so-called god”. These phrases were ADDED to the scriptures by men, and are NOT in the original texts.)I still find this unbelievable. But it certainly would add to the idea that there are no false…[Read more]

Ya I know. I've been struggling with the same idea. Is a fake god a false god?All JW for example know that god means “mighty one, powerful one” but they still believe satan is a false god, and yet, they would also say he is quite powerful (mighty)It's because 99% of the time that we refer to god it is to Jehovah, so we have all these ideas about…[Read more]

Quote I'm with him in wondering why everyone is Caucasian in that JW book except for the servant girl. Even the Egyptians are depicted as being white folks.I've asked myself that many times. And Jesus is always very Caucasian looking whereas other people around him look slightly Jewish.

The first schools were religious (protestant) and were for indoctrination and obedience training. The schools were well designed for that purpose and still are to a large degree. They went to school so that they could grow up to be good protestants. The schools were filled with stories to induce the fear of god and the fear of authority.…[Read more]

Ok, but jesus is only called the “word” a couple of times in scripture. Whereas “word” is used as I describe countless times, isn't it? Maybe it isn't. I feel like it is. Look up every instance of “word” in scripture. It should be clear they aren't all hidden messages referring to Jesus. I'd imagine 99.99% aren't referring to Jesus. Why…[Read more]

Maybe it's the word “vision.” A vision is a sight or scene, or message superimposed upon a persons mind while he is awake. I don't believe that a vision has to necessarily involve sight, as if abram saw “the word of Jehovah.”Personification is often used in the bible.

Quote It is by a person's fruit that you know them. Not by the expanse or lack of knowledge. Knowledge is important, but lack of it is not a deal breaker.
