Quote Jesus is not portrayed anywhere as a MOUTHPIECE of GOD, in any text so why are you and David insisting on it then. One definition (the one that applies) for “mouthpiece” is “spokesperson.”A spokesperson is a person who speaks for or represents another.Do you actually need a list of scriptures that show Jesus was God's spokesperson or…[Read more]

Quote Either you can believe that the witness John was interpreting their actions and agree with their words (for he doesn’t clarify that it was a lie, neither does Yeshua correct them), or you accept that the Jews believed that because Yeshua said “God was his Father”, that he was making himself equal to God.Of course, he didin't really claim…[Read more]

Quote Well, if being a Son of God did not equate to being equal to God, then why was that a reason to crucify him? ???–WJ.Are you siding with the Pharisees? Was any of this a reason to kill him? The pharisees may have equated the two, but they weren't very smart were they?Being that many are called sons of God, (angels, Adam' etc), if Jesus actually…[Read more]

Quote Rather than a spokesperson for God, which can be a part time interest, Jesus really was a mouth piece for GodBoth words apply. He spoke for God, as God's chief messenger. He was sent forth by God to Give God's message. Either word applies. Can someone remind me what any of this has to do with the holy spirit.?

and of course they are not the exact same word, but one meaning of mouthpiece (other than a trumpet's mouthpiece for example) is: “spokesperson.”Jesus was God's spokesperson,or mouthpiece, not the other way around.God was not the mouthpiece (spokesman) of Jesus, as you suggest.Perhaps that word really is used differently where you live.

Hi Mandy. (sorry, this post is messed up, with the quotes.)Mandy:”I think that perhaps your view of “most people” is tainted by the fact that you go door to door and solicit from people.”We don't “solicit” from anyone. T8, I'm going to start another thread on the difference between Christ's presence and his coming. Most Bible's always translate that word “coming” which is certainly not always correct and which has lead to much oonfusion. But, first I'm going to work.

Quote But the bible is written in English. Are you saying that the KJV is fallible, that it is not the word of god?Yes, it is written in English. But, as we know, it wasn't originally. The word “jealous” was not the original word. And no, it's not a perfect translation of the word.
