Part 4.
Son even as they honor the Father, they must honor him not only as Creator, but as Lawgiver. Says Isaiah: “The Lord is our judge, the Lord is our lawgiver, the Lord is our king, he will save us.” Isaiah 33:22. The statement of Christ, that “the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son; that all men should honour…[Read more]Anthony replied to the topic Firstborn of/over all creation in the forum Truth or Tradition 6 years, 5 months ago
Part 3. HIS PRE-EXISTENCE.
The fact that Jesus is spoken of as the only begotten Son of God should be sufficient to establish a belief in his divinity. As Son of God, he must partake of the nature of God. “As the Father hath life in himself, so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself.” John 5:26. Life and immortality…[Read more]

Part 2.
We come to notice some of the works which Christ does as God, and in this we shall find additional proof of his divinity. In one talk with the Jews, he used the following language, which shows his position of equality with the Father: “For neither doth the Father judge any man, but he hath given all judgment unto the Son; that all may h…[Read more]Anthony replied to the topic Firstborn of/over all creation in the forum Truth or Tradition 6 years, 5 months ago
Hi Jodi, Gene and Nick I dont abree with you. Part 1. The first text that we quote is that one so familiar to everyone who knows anything of the Bible, John 1:1: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God.” That this refers to Christ is evident from verse 4: “In Him was…[Read more]

Hi Nick by God the Father, they just had legal rights of adoption. That’s why Joseph at to be adopted by Heli, Marys Father the blood line goes through the male not the female. I think you’ll find the customs and the law of inhheritance in Lev.22 23 somewhere around there he had to go through Heli, because Mary couldn’t. The work was all done by…[Read more]

Gene
Theodotus of Byzantium was the most prominent adherent to this error.
Adoptionism is an error concerning Christ that first appeared in the first and second century. Those who held it denied the preexistence of Christ and, therefore, Adoptionists taught that Jesus was tested by God,and after passing this test and upon His baptism, He was…[Read more]

Gene . Gnostic Christians and others, were all adoptionists. In accordance with the first hundred years of Christian belief and with the oldest manuscripts of the Bible, Jesus was born in a normal way like the rest of us, to his parents, Joseph and Mary, from the line of David as prophesized (Matt. 1:1,9:27, Luke 1:32, John 7:41-3, Acts 13:23…[Read more]

Hi Jodi you like the ESV translation it seems to be about the only one you use. You should do a study on ESV. Did you know that they leave out whole scripture and parts of other ones. I’ll show you a couple examples.
Let’s see how the ESV stacks up.(Matthew 18:11 NKJV) For the Son of Man has come to save that which was lost.(Matthew 18:11 ESV…[Read more]

For one Nick I really don’t believe in the trinity. I believe it like this there is only one God, Jesus is alittle lower then God that came out of the Father God before the foundation of the world. and the Holy Spirit is the power and energy of the Father, and Jesus has the same Spirit from the Father, it is the Spirit of the Father. We only…[Read more]

Hi jodi Nick and Gene
You seem to be like Gnostic Christians they believe in The Baptism and Adoption of Jesus . God adopted Him at Jesus baptism.
You must have a hard time with some of the teaching of Paul’s and him going to the gentiles.
