You should be able to just change the password to whatever you want under the Control Panel link. I could also look at implementing a program that asks a question to determine if you are a bot or a human. The latest update to the spam filters have stopped them in their tracks for now.Hopefully it is not too over the top though. I have updated the spam filters. That should hold off the spam for a while. The filters exclude legit domains like yahoo.com and gmail.com, but I may have to ban them too, if spammers use those domains too much.
