Thanks E, Yeah, I am pretty familiar with those Scriptures. I have seen a couple of warped interpretations of what some people think the Trinity is on here tho.As I said on one other topic, I think Nick may well have left the JW's, but they haven't left him.

Here's the evidence Nick.Jesus said Joh 14:26 But the Comforter, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in My name, He shall teach you all things and bring all things to your remembrance, whatever I have said to you. If Jesus calls the Holy Spirit He, that's good enough for me.Nick, you may have left the JW's but I don't think they have left…

Quote (epistemaniac @ Aug. 18 2006,22:36)you are right about the Holy Spirit Oxy…. we must not grieve the Holy Spirit…. its kinda hard to grieve something that is not a person, but some impersonal “force” don't ya think? Perhaps too many have been watching Star Wars??? 😉 If the Holy Spirit can be lied to or grieved, common sense says that…[Read more]

I should add that it seems there is trinity which means all 3 aspects of God lumped together and coequal, which is of course a load of nonsense. But to me the word trinity has only ever been a way of saying 3. Nothing more.

It does make sense, except that the holy Spirit is in us, and we have a sinful nature.Rom 8:10 And if Christ is in you, indeed the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

The Bible says Mat 25:13 Therefore watch, for you do not know either the day or the hour in which the Son of Man comes. So it's reasonable I think that we can know roughly the year, or perhaps even the season? The Bible says that we should see the signs of the times.

Joh 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. Joh 1:2 He was in the beginning with God. The Son of God was “begat” when Jesus was born. As long as God has been able to speak there has been the Word of God.Gen 1:3 And God said, Let there be light. And there was light. Joh 1:3 All things came into being…[Read more]

But explain this to me Nick. If God can only tell you what is written in Scripture, how come He is suddenly limited? I mean He had to tell people stuff that wasn't in Scripture in order for Scripture to get here in the first place, didn't He?And how to you explain the experience I had in the post above? I really want an answer to that!

typ, did you really die when you got baptised? Honestly, didn't you just get wet? I am not mocking water baptism for it is done in obedience to God, therefore counted as righteousness. But the truth of the matter is that one doesn't actually die when they get baptised in water. The actual death experience comes later at the crossing of the…[Read more]

Quote (typrsn @ Aug. 18 2006,20:39)“Death to self and consequential resurrection”. Say what? Some will have to go through tribulation and others won't? The reckoning ourselves to be dead indeed to sin (consequently self) takes place at repentance and baptism according to Paul in Romans 6. Are you saying there needs to be a second death experience?…[Read more]

Quote (Nick Hassan @ Aug. 18 2006,11:37)Hi Oxy, Romans 6 shows us that die in baptism. The wheat must die to produce a crop. The sons of God are those who are led by the Spirit of God and not the flesh. They are sons of the resurrection and will be raised in the first resurrection to reign with Christ for 1000 yrs.We are not vessels destined for…[Read more]

And then there's this verse.Joh 14:26 But the Comforter, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in My name, He shall teach you all things and bring all things to your remembrance, whatever I have said to you.So we have Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Quote (typrsn @ Aug. 12 2006,19:27)The statement “God is three” does not appear in scripture. As a matter of fact, it is a violation of Deut. 6:4,5 that reveals the first and great commandment. Moses said “Hear, O Israel; YHWH our Elohim is one YHWH: and thou shalt love YHWH thy Elohim with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy…[Read more]

Nick, I just do my best to know God and to live according to His desires. I have not read in Scripture where we are to worship the Spirit, neither has the Lord told me to worship the Spirit, but respect is commanded to Him (the Holy Spirit) in that forgiveness is not forthcoming if we blaspheme Him (the Holy Spirit).

Think about this.. Joh 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. If the Word was with God then the Word was not God as such. But then it goes on the say the Word was God. So this verse in itself shows that God (singular) is able to be more than one person. That does not take away from God His identity or…[Read more]

t8, I am indeed a son of God, as written in the Scriptures. But the difference between Jesus and I is that He was in the beginning with God and was God. I never had that priviledge.
I do not buy into us being adopted into the family of God. That is a poor translation. I was BORN into God's family! To call the Bible the Word of God is way more…[Read more]- Load More
