Hello Everyone! It seems to me that a simple statement in which Jesus expresses His teachings on swearing oaths has again become so complicated. It's like cooking – too many chefs in the kitchen can ruin a good meal. I believe that too many commentaries that attempt to “read” deeper then what Jesus specifically said is something we should all…[Read more]

Hi Nick – I totally agree that Jesus does not say that in order to be "saved" we must follow the 10 commandments. What I am saying is that the 10 commandments are summed up in the greatest of all commandments which is love. For our salvation we must believe in the Son of God, which of course is Yeshua the Messiah or better known as Jesus Christ.…[Read more]

Hi Nick – I agree that the 10 Commandments were given to the Jews and not the Gentiles. However, when looking at the commandments all I see is positive, Godly direction for our life in relationship to Him, our Father and to other human beings. I agree that we are not of this world and after reading my post I realized that it seemed as if that is…[Read more]

Quote (Nick Hassan @ July 13 2005,03:49)Hi Diana,1. If you look at the context of Mk 12.28-31 Jesus was asked by a scribe about the Commandments. The same with the Rich young man in another place. We need to be careful to see exactly what was asked of he that is Truth as he cannot lie and he gives the answer the question deserves.2. The ten…[Read more]

Amen Nick! But the Word is Jesus, right? (John 1:1-3) I love to keep it simple and focus on loving those that God has brought into my path regardless if it is in a physical sense (as my next door neighbor) or the orphanage in India that God has led me to help support, as well as those people I have yet to meet. Regardless of the discussions on…[Read more]

Nick – When you refer to the Word of God, my heart automatically thinks of Yeshua, fullfillment of God's promise. So many people put faith in the bible when in fact, I believe that the bible is a great resource for us but God's “Word” is written on our hearts and minds (Jeremiah 33:31). The “true” word or book of God, does that really exist …[Read more]

Hi Nick – Thanks for the information. Let me ask you, when you say the Holy Spirit is of God do you mean that the Holy Spirit is God or a part of God. I prefer to think of the Holy Spirit as a means of communication (prayer) between God and man, which of course is through God's Son, Yeshua. GBU, Diana

Ok – I just finished reading the posts on this thread (some are waaaaay over my pea brain ! I do have a question, is it possible that YHWH is Yeshua? If YHWH is not the name of God and I am not saying that God and Jesus are one or the same person. But could it be possible that YHWH of the OT is also Yeshua? I apologize if my question seem…[Read more]

Hi Cubes! It is my God given role to obey my husband, as he obeys Yeshua and Yeshua obeys our heavenly Father. Very often tho, I run into men and women who have no understanding of biblical submissiveness – a joke between my husband and I is that whenever I question his authority (and yes, I have my moments – he runs to the bible to pull out…[Read more]

Nick are you saying that the Holy Spirit is God and it is God's way to communicate with us. Then if that is the case and the Holy Spirit is infact God – then why is the Holy Spirit considered part of the Trinity doctrine. If I am correct the Trinity doctrine claims there are 3 persons to the God head. I do agree that it is the Holy Spirit that t…[Read more]

Thanks for all the information to my post! I have a difficult time specifially with the two-fold reasoning that was giving in epistimanic's post. Where does it say in scripture that the Isaiah 7:14 prophecy is a two-fold prophecy? I am unaware of any. Scholars, like any of us, can also have their opinions. The Holy Spirit is something that has me perplexed. I do not believe in the trinity doctrine but yet whenever I tried to study the “Holy Spirit” that is all I ran into. Even using my bible dictionary – it lead me straight to arguments about the trinity. This is what I believe the Holy Spirit to be. First of – it is a spirit, not a person,…[Read more]

I must say this is something that we are looking at currently. To determine, if possible, that YHWH refers to Yeshua in the OT and not necessarily the Father. If anyone has any information or has studied this, please share. GBU – Happy Jesus Day!
