Talking of Redemption – can anyone tell me why I am “born” a sinner because of an act of one man and his wife more than 6000 years ago… does all this pain and suffering we have to go through as humanity or even have to watch and can do nothing about, does it justify the punishment of one man's actions, for the rest of humanity to suffer for them…[Read more]

Quote (Mercy @ Oct. 02 2006,11:02)Jesus is that mediator between God and man. The perfect sacrifice who is without sin and who reflects the image and radiance of his Father. The very same Father and God who cannot be in the presence of sin.God cannot take the sins of the world on himself. It doesn't make any sense.Hi, I agree with your last…[Read more]

Would the crucifixion (and subsequent resurrection) of someone who was not fully-God be enough to pay for the sins of the whole world?YES. I cannot see how GOD who is immortal can die, if it was only the human part of God that died, then it is all a sham because what good does a pretend death do for us, for if Christ never died as God but only as…[Read more]

Can I ask what Paul is going on about in Romans 2 – He sounds like a confused man. He changes his mind to suit himself. First he says, we are saved through grace by faith alone, apart from works, or obeying the law, then he says this in Nicks last post… which is it. it is either or, not both…My question – where does Jesus abrogate the law? He…[Read more]

Quote (Nick Hassan @ Aug. 26 2006,20:34)Hi, Trintarians say that God is one being with three persons in that being. Yet they say that each person is an equal deity. A deity is a god that is worshiped. How can a deity not be a being?Something is amiss here methinks.Agreed Nick,I find the whole “three person's in one what” idea rather confusing and…[Read more]

Hey Nickyou said:Hi A7,The Spirit is a gift from God and never left Jesus nor leaves us for eternity.I agree that is why I asked how WS-52 could say the spirit of God was not with him and that Jesus was tempted of flesh only.WS-52 said:Jesus is able to fall when jesus is tempted, the spirit of God was not with him and the flesh alone is the only…[Read more]

Hey Nick,Thanks for your reply. A friend of mine told me he had a heightened awareness of spiritual things as well as natural when he was on his 21 day water and juice only fast. I am not too sure I sit well with knowing that Jesus could not tell if it was in the spirit or the natural. I am sure Jesus would have been compus mentus (however it is…[Read more]

WS-52, thanks for your reply, I can see that Jesus was led by the Spirit to be tempted of the Devil. It was planned, the accuser did his best to destroy Jesus, the Son of God, but failed dismally. Not too sure I agree that Satan did not want to tempt Jesus as I believe he wants to thwart anything Godly or that is part of God's plan. To say that he…[Read more]

I am doing some study on the early church and the differences that Christianity had with the Jews. In their arguements I find that there is no mention of a Trinity at all. Maybe this was because there was no TRINITY at this point. Can anyone tell me if the Jews and early Christian (Jews)* in Jerusalem who worshipped in the synagogues, read the…[Read more]

Romans 8 is a classic example of this…Will get back to you when i have done some reading.Gosh this is a lifetime of work ahead eh… it is a joy…[Read more]

So the holy spirit, is His power is how you see it…Why the 'He' pronouns in the verses in question. He will bear witness? If it is of God then and his power only then should it not be translated “it”.Holy Spirit seems to be neuter in the Greek, so it would make sense, but I am not a greek scholar so who am I to say eh… 😉
